"Is it really worth getting worked up over this? Does anyone actually believe that everything is going to fall apart just because one thing changes? I mean, honestly, can we please take a breath and look at the bigger picture for once?"

I’ll try having one more chat with my partner so I can be a bit more prepared..

By the way, I'm starting to get a little worried that I might actually need a wedding planner too. What has your experience been like with them? Any recommendations for the San Francisco area?

How do people usually handle things like this;
an outdoor wedding ceremony. Who brings the chairs, and who handles the setup?

Hey, shoot me a DM instead. I'm stuck on my laptop right now and it's being incredibly temperamental, so I can't seem to get these three messages through properly.
amberhawk60 said:Emergency, can someone give me their take on this band?

It’s pure magic, honestly; you’re guaranteed a good time, just make sure you hurry up and book them before they're totally slammed.
I can't send you a private message right now.
The Allure basic package is about $40,

Would not recommend this at all...

Honestly, I’m just so disappointed; I’ve heard everything you mentioned before, and it’s glaringly obvious she overcharges for makeup and acts way too entitled. She just takes orders from a huge crowd of girls without any real substance, so if you actually want talent, why not check out Matea Makeup, Petra Bozinovic, or Lucia Spajic?

Jelena's Salon
has had similar issues with customers lately, which is just incredibly unprofessional if you ask me.

Phoenix is slightly better in my book, though Phoenix definitely has superior service; I've never had a single issue there, whereas at Dolisa, you can end up waiting forever for a server. I’ve been to Phoenix twice this year, and honestly, they seem much better than they were last year.

Has anyone actually been here? Was it worth it?

Thanks!

Honestly, it was hands down the worst venue, service, and food I've ever dealt with.

Never again...

Is it just me, or is this the second negative review I've heard about her lately? It feels like there might be some truth to the rumors when they start piling up like this... apparently, her "sessions" only last about 20 minutes—which, if you ask me, is nowhere near enough time for a professional look—not to mention she can be incredibly awkward while working on you, and she tries to book way too many clients in a single day.

granitefox19 said:Does anyone have recommendations for a musician who could play at our place—specifically when they pick me up and we're waiting out front of the church? And please, I’m looking for something other than (just) an accordion player. Does anyone know what kind of budget I should set aside for that?

Also, I was wondering how much you all ended up spending on flowers? Any recent suggestions for florists? Thanks!

It really depends on what kind of floral vibe you're going for, because if you want full bouquets, you aren't looking at anything under $200, though the basics for the $1000 area should be around

So, what, you want the whole wedding package all under one roof? I honestly thought you were just looking for a spot for dinner, and besides, does this place even have a decent live band?
Allure Ex Fabula. If anyone out there is hunting for the perfect venue, let me tell you, this place is a total gem—we actually hosted our big celebration here recently. First off, the guys running the show are absolute pros; they're incredibly easy to work with and handled all our requests without breaking a sweat. The space itself is stunning, offering both large and small options depending on what you need, and you don't have to stress about parking since they've got plenty of space secured. As for the food? Honestly, the charcuterie spread was a solid ten out of ten. They served two different kinds of freshly baked bread—one studded with seeds and another with olives—which absolutely blew us away. From the soup to the black and white risotto, everything was perfection, and the roasted dishes were just incredible. We also dove into their homemade desserts, and let me tell you, we were all completely floored. I noticed they offer catering services too, and since they're hosting open house days right now, you should definitely swing by if you want to check it out. Oh, and the service? The servers were top-notch—polished, polite, and lightning-fast. We truly had everything we could possibly have needed.

No church or priest involved—just the actual ceremony with an officiant out in the open (that’s my main focus, not some thing after dinner, we can figure that part out later). A courtyard sounds pretty good to me for the vibe and setting, I just don't know if they allow that kind of thing there or how much of a hit it would be on the wallet...

Walter Bailey said:Ante Gašpar is a solid pick—great value for the money. Honestly, I think he's two steps ahead of Marino. You can't go wrong with Studio Bor or Mario Paparela either...

That’s true, though he only really started striking out on his own quite recently, didn't he?
Richard Parker said:I mean, I don't really know how much I'd spend yet... I need to get a general idea of where prices actually sit for what I'm looking for first..
So, basically, I want coverage for the whole wedding... from the church ceremony all the way through cutting the cake and the bouquet toss... nothing beyond that. On top of that, I'd want maybe an hour or two before the church ceremony for some posed shots... but nothing over the top. Plus, I definitely want a photo book for myself. As for my parents, I'm not sure if I'll just give them one nice large framed photo or a photo book as well... oh, and I'd also want some shots taken that night specifically for the invitations.. (so far, I haven't even received any actual price quotes because everyone I've reached out to here has been a total bust), and I'm not planning on getting albums for the godparents..

Maybe try reaching out to Mario Paparela or Ante Gašpar
fadedsurfer54 said:April is a great time, the venue said yes, and I'm looking at Yukica for photos. I've heard good things about Gras, though opinions on Tonći Čerina are kind of split—some say the shots are incredible, but others mention the DVDs aren't the best, so I'm still undecided...
Does anyone know how catering prices are looking lately?

I ended up going with $833 and just bringing my own food and drinks... honestly, if you decide to go through a catering company, just watch your back because they'll try to bleed you dry if you aren't careful.

you should probably reach out to chunky because honestly, those guys are absolutely top-tier.

granitefox19 said:Hey fadedsurfer54,
Regarding Say Yes—yeah, they’re charging 38 €. The manager there is actually quite charming, but I have a major gripe with the layout: the dance floor is positioned such that you can't see it from every corner of the room, which is a total dealbreaker for me. They do offer an outdoor option with a tent for weddings, which looks absolutely stunning, but let's be real—that comes with a massive price hike...
Now, Nirs is at 36 €, and honestly, I think it's a great pick if your guest list stays under 160 people. If you go over that number, they switch to rectangular tables instead of rounds, and frankly, I wasn't a fan of that setup...
As for Sky, I believe it's around 42 €, though I haven't had a chance to look into them deeply yet.
Then there's Ino, I think they're about 35 €... hm, it's okay, I guess. If you're looking near Castleton, you should definitely consider the Castle hall (35 euros), and if you want something in Miami, you've got Bolero and Ari available for around 40 euros.

I’ve never personally heard Taxi Band play, but word on the street is they’re fantastic—except for the fact that they want 2,200 dollars, which I find absolutely outrageous. Most bands are hovering around the 2,000 mark, which is already way too much in my book, but I refuse to pay that extra 200 just out of pure principle.

As for photographers? I am completely lost there too—I definitely need some help finding someone good, haha.😉

I'm totally with e+te regarding those music prices; they've become outrageously expensive lately, when you know there's plenty of amazing music available for way less.

Finding a photographer really just boils down to how much you're willing to bleed, but there are plenty of options out there.

I'm also on the hunt for some artificial roses or something along those lines.
Thanks 😁

Check out the local boutiques downtown, maybe hit up a Home Depot or a Target if you're looking for something quick.

Matthew Ross11 said:Hey everyone, before I dive into the last 50 pages of this forum 🙄🙄🙄 I need a few recommendations (feel free to PM me)

Venue for the reception—around 250 guests; needs enough space. Right now, I’m looking at Bolero or Dolis; if you have any other suggestions, let me know.👍

Band—budget up to $2,000. I'm considering Barbary, Best, or Boss; any similar recommendations?

Photographer—this is my biggest dilemma. I liked Bonačić Studio, but I really want to see some other options first.

Thanks in advance to everyone! :klap::klap::klap:

Well, since we’re already on the subject, why don't we go ahead and bring Aria and the Lesnina Band back into the conversation? Is it really too much to ask to mention them again?
Is there anything more predictably exhausting than the sheer, unadulterated monotony of the local music scene? You’ve got the usual suspects like the Bend-Vino duo and Ivo, Miro Boem, and that whole Aritmija Band mess—it’s almost impressive how they manage to stay so consistently underwhelming. Does anyone actually sit through these sets expecting something halfway decent, or have we all just collectively agreed to lower our standards to rock bottom?
Photographer Marino, smile.
Noah Wright4 said:And where exactly are you planning to hold them? A gym or a church?

Oh, I'm not exactly looking to tie the knot just yet... I just need to find a decent, beautiful spot where we can all actually get together.
Any thoughts on where we should all meet up?

cosmiclynx18 said:So, what’s the actual experience like? Were you all satisfied? I’m thinking about ordering the cookies from them... but maybe getting the cakes from Smith instead...

Also, if anyone could give me a ballpark figure: how many pounds of pastries do I actually need for a party of about 150 people?

I heard the rule of thumb is one pound per ten guests... but honestly, does that sound right to you? It seems a bit light to me...🙄🙄

We were honestly thrilled with both the pastries and the cakes; we always go to them whenever we're hosting a big celebration... but as for exactly how much dessert we'll need, isn't it probably best to just head down to the bakery and ask them directly? That's what I'm planning to do, and I'll likely order a little extra just to be safe.
