Jacob Torres61 said:Hey ladies,

I just got engaged, and honestly, this thread is a lifesaver. I've been scrolling through everything here. 🙂
I really need some help because I can't find an answer anywhere on this forum, no matter how much I search...

So, here's the deal: I want an outdoor wedding with a priest (I'm coming from Miami). Since I read that it’s only allowed at certain consecrated sites, could you please let me know if you know anyone who has had an outdoor ceremony in Miami or the surrounding areas recently with a priest? I'm trying to figure out which locations are actually an option and which priest—or even just which parish—handled it. Any info would be huge, even just a pointer in the right direction, because I haven't found anything recent about this. I've seen some vague stuff about other cities, but nothing specific for Miami...

Thanks sooooo much!! :*

My wedding was held outdoors and we had a priest officiate
DM me if you want the details

We actually DIY'ed the boutonnieres ourselves, but for the invitations, we used this tiny little print shop over in La Jolla—honestly, it was way more budget-friendly than anything you'd find in downtown Seattle.

Like I already mentioned... so far, they've earned nothing but praise from my end. My sister attended one of their events last month and she had absolutely nothing but good things to say.

I’m trying to figure out what the average price per person looks like at each—and more importantly—what the common complaints are based on your own experiences. I haven't been able to find much feedback specifically on the Radisson Blu, so any heads-up would be appreciated. Thanks so much for the help!

copperowl13 said:Does anyone have a specific photographer at Getty Images they’d actually recommend? Also—if you’ve been in touch with them lately—does anyone happen to know what their current package pricing looks like?

aria gives huge props to the food and the staff; the venue itself is lovely, though the ceilings are a bit low, but honestly, I didn't mind one bit.

photo photo Marino gets all my praise—they really are top-notch—otherwise, I'd suggest Vedran Vidak or Studio Smile.

Larry Smith3 said:I don't quite understand it either, particularly when they tell us how much work goes into setting up the hall... as if that's our responsibility to pay for.🤷

In the end, we decided to go with Nirs; the venue just felt more right to us, and we received more recommendations for them. Regarding Ino, everyone tells us "the food is amazing," which I certainly believe, but that seems to be the extent of the feedback we get.🙂

Has anyone here recently looked into getting a wedding dress from Miles in San Diego? I am absolutely enamored with the Maggie Sottero designs, but a friend mentioned that they don't offer alterations if the dress is too long, and she hasn't heard many glowing reviews about that specific boutique. I also saw someone on the forum mention that they canceled a dress just a few days before the wedding. I actually went there with a friend a while back, and my overall impression was wonderful until the moment the lady, prompted by a question about whether they rent out baskets, started lecturing us about her own personal integrity (that kind of thing generally irritates me and makes me want to walk out immediately). However, since I've also heard so many compliments, I'm feeling a bit conflicted now.😕

mila lately, all I've been hearing is negative feedback
about a month ago, she took orders for three more brides at the exact same time as my friend
just imagine four brides all showing up at once, each bringing a guest; the salon turned into a total circus and obviously, she couldn't give everyone the attention they deserved
no wonder she was so high-strung
graniteskipper48 said:Spontaneous photos are important to me, but a full photo session is too. The issue is that, except for Ivica Matić, who is a bit pricey, nobody I've looked at so far balances both equally well. So, I guess I'm still in the phase of searching and deciding which of those two things matters more to me... though obviously, I'm not the only one whose opinion counts, my boyfriend is involved too—which is why there are different names in the post.

What you're looking for in a photographer is exactly what I need too, and I finally found that perfect balance with Photo Marino and Ante Gaspar.
Larry Smith3 said:Hi everyone, my partner and I have finally started our venue scouting, visiting several locations, and I thought I would share our experiences with you all.
The Say Yes venue over in Draco is absolutely stunning, but honestly, it felt far too large for what we need, so we’ve decided to pass on it. When we visited, they had the room set up for 160 guests, and even then, there was an incredible amount of empty space—the tables were spaced out beautifully so you could walk around easily without bumping into anyone. Tony was wonderful; he showed us everything and even offered some helpful advice regarding other venues, though he did mention over the phone that their minimum guest count is 150. It’s such a shame for us because the hall itself is a total dream.
We received a glowing recommendation for pirate, and Mark is clearly top-tier, but I just can't wrap my head around why they insist on a 140-person minimum. We arrived while the room was being set up for 140 people (not counting the sweetheart table), and it felt incredibly cramped. To my eyes, the dance floor looked tiny, and they hadn't even set up a stage for the band yet. While the atmosphere is gorgeous and the food I sampled was excellent, the layout just feels too tight for comfort.
Then there is the castelo venue in San Diego... I actually fell in love with this place a few months ago when my friends and I were touring around. However, during our visit, I got the distinct impression that they might be overly strict about alcohol service, and I noticed that lingering smell that I really can't stand. I suspect we might have caught the manager in a bad mood, especially since we arrived at the scheduled time and had to call her cell phone multiple times after waiting at the entrance. While the hall itself is lovely, the communication style was completely off-putting, which immediately pushed them to the bottom of my list. We asked about the music schedule, as I'd heard elsewhere that the owner insists on everyone leaving by 4:30, and she explained that everything wraps up around 4:00 because they like to "pack up like horses" to get home. She also made a point to tell us that they don't allow glass breaking or guests climbing on tables and chairs. Now, I certainly don't want my guests behaving like hooligans, but I also don't want to feel like I'm being babysat if someone enjoys a drink a little more than others. I had read in an earlier post that she was very charming, so I hoped we just caught her on a bad day, but I don't think that was the case.
As for Hotel Villa Žarko, the ballroom is on the ground floor and has quite low ceilings, which makes the whole space feel dark and much smaller than it actually is. They also have a strict departure time around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. I didn't particularly care for it, though I can't quite put my finger on exactly why 🙂
.
Ino hall and Nirs — both were incredibly kind and approachable. We ended up staying the longest with them, and as of right now, they are the only ones truly in the running.

My vote goes definitely to Ino.

Much better service, better food, and more space—everything about them beats Nirs in my book.

graniteskipper48 said:I looked him up on Facebook too, and his photos are great... but I haven't been able to get any useful info from people I know, so I'd also be interested if anyone knows anything. Most of what I have managed to find out is about Sinisa Srdanovic, and I've heard nothing but praise from everyone, both regarding his work and who he is as a person. So, for now, it's just him and Papaya on my list, though I guess I'll give myself a bit more time to ask around about a few other names, and Tony is one of them. I also heard that Anthony Gaspar is excellent; as far as I know, he won a top wedding photography award at the European Union level two years in a row, and apparently, he's a lot of fun to work with! Ugh... there are just so many. I think picking a photographer might actually be the hardest part! 🙂

Anthony Gaspar is a wonderful guy and his photos are stunning; he actually shot me just the day after my session, and even though I usually loathe being in front of a camera, it was such a joy to work with him.

graniteskipper48 said:Hi ladies... I guess I'll join this thread now as a new bride-to-be. Just one question to start things off. Regarding photographers, I'm thinking about hiring Papaji, but I'd only want the photography service, not the video. Do they ever do just one or the other? Also, does anyone happen to have any recent info on their pricing? Thanks!!

Of course you can negotiate those kinds of details with them.
Noah Long7 said:Thanks so much for the directions, I think I have a general idea now. So, were you actually happy with how it tasted? What did the cake look like? Does every layer have a different flavor profile? And did you end up grabbing any other pastries while you were there?

As for the pastries from Bill Gates—I've picked them up a few times and they’re honestly fantastic (think of them like those classic glazed donuts 👍)
The price point is totally reasonable, so I really think you'll get your money's worth and be happy with the choice.

rowdyraven14 said:Does anyone know where I can go to rent some glass vases in San Francisco—and more importantly—what kind of budget should I be looking at for something like that?

Well, it really all depends on the specific style of vases you're after, doesn't it?
Just shoot me a DM; I have a contact number for a woman who handles this sort of thing.

casualjackal72 said:Hi there, all my future and current brides! 😁

I was wondering if I could ask for a little bit of advice or maybe some recommendations... basically, I'm planning a summer wedding in St and I'm having a hard time deciding between two makeup artists—Katarina Jakelić and the one from Sephora (Šizika Šizić) on Facebook??
Does anyone happen to have any experience working with either of them? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks so much! 🙂

If you're asking me, go with Shizzy every single time.

where's the cheapest place for car grease, Iowa or Roseville?

cosmiclynx18 said:So, we’ve finally pulled the trigger and decided to host the wedding in a small town outside of Austin... mainly because we have guests traveling quite a distance, so we figured we should at least be close to the I-35 🙂🤷

I’m looking for some solid recommendations—should we go with Dolis, Lesnina, or Fenix? I haven't actually been to any of them... HELP ME OUT 🙂. We’re expecting about 150 guests max... what would you suggest? For me, the absolute dealbreaker is the food; it needs to be plentiful and actually taste good...

Google 😍

Walmart, hands down!!!!!
I've been there for several barbeques and family celebrations, and the food and service always get nothing but rave reviews.

Timothy Fisher50 said:is that some kind of TNT?

Honestly, I have no clue when it comes to TNT,
but if you’ve got the drive, my advice would be to just DIY some of those pieces, like the reveres,
unless you can track down an independent freelancer, which is usually way cheaper; those big-name, high-end florists in the city charge a fortune and often miss the mark because they're too busy rushing through orders on a busy holiday.

And as for people telling you your floral arrangements look like something out of a funeral home? Just make what you actually like... why on earth would you listen to them?
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Timothy Fisher50 said:Has anyone here actually used TNT Florist or Missy's before?
Which one would you guys suggest I go with??

Mis-Cura is fine, I guess, but nothing to write home about... they talk way more than they actually get done. Personally, I find them pretty exhausting because they just drone on and on, and frankly, I don't have the patience for people like that.

Richard Doyle48 said:I’ve actually attended two banquets held at Walmart. The food was absolutely incredible both times. One was last year and the other was just this year, and they offer such beautiful venues and delicious catering that I went ahead and booked a hall for my own celebration 🙂
The same boss runs Phoenix too, but honestly, the food there was a total disaster...

It isn't true that the same person owns both Phoenix and Walmart...
The reality is simply that the food at Phoenix is terrible, whereas over at Dolisa, it's actually much better.

placidranger9 said:Ladies, I am in desperate need of some guidance regarding wedding photographers. I’ve been doing some digging and have narrowed my options down to two specific choices: Studio XXL over in Trilja—I’ve spent quite a bit of time scrolling through their website and Facebook page, and honestly, their portfolio looks fantastic, plus the pricing seems reasonable—and then there is Marino from Sinj, whose shots are also absolutely stunning, though I haven't had the chance to confirm his rates yet, so I'm assuming they're in a similar ballpark. Does anyone here happen to have any first-hand experience with either of them? I would truly appreciate any insight you can offer, please. The wedding is coming up on August 8th, so I really don't have much time to waste on indecision.
Thanks

In my experience, Marino's photography is pretty mediocre, so if you want the real scoop, just shoot me a DM.
