Joseph Clark37 said:Certainly less than you and people like you...

Fair point. You personally feel great because you didn't vote for the lesser of two evils, but for the rest of us living in this country, your decision doesn't actually change a damn thing.

Joseph Clark37 said:To me, the most striking people here are those who still vote for either the Republican Party or the Democratic Party based on the "lesser of two evils" principle...

It’s one of the reasons why those two parties remain the dominant interest groups in this country.

They are essentially two sides of the same political elite that has controlled this region from 1945 until today, and people just can't seem to get enough.

Two factions made of the exact same mold, tied together by far more similarities than differences.

So let the Republicans or Democrats hold power. Looking at this nation, it’s exactly the kind of leadership Americans deserve.

Still, I remain an incorrigible optimist, firmly believing that in 300 years, everything will be fine...

Anyone who goes to the polls choosing based on which candidate is the lesser piece of trash is doomed to eat trash forever. To people like that, I can only say—bon appétit.

So, what, if you don't vote for the lesser evil, you somehow aren't eating the same crap?

Larry Fox5 said:You’re probably right—but if you vote for the lesser evil, that’s just straight-up pragmatism. Morally speaking, you'd be better off not voting at all since you're basically giving your own legitimacy to this administration even if you see them as just the lesser of two evils.

Let's not be naive here—you're never going to find a perfect option in politics, so the real question is how many of these choices are even remotely tolerable.

Since I live in Germany, if I actually had the right to vote, I’d go with the CDU—fully aware it isn't perfect, but it's far from it... calling it the lesser evil.

Things would be a whole lot smoother in this country if people viewed elections through a lens of cold, hard pragmatism rather than treating them like some high-stakes moral crusade or an emotional rollercoaster. Imagine if we actually picked the party that wouldn't sell out our veterans for pennies or dismantle Social Security, instead of just cheering for whichever side waves the loudest flag.

Honestly, I’d happily trade every ounce of my moral high ground to any slimy politician in Washington just for a solid guarantee that they won't privatize our public water supply. It’s really that simple.

Gregory Chavez said:The GOP will always come out on top, or at least right there in the mix for victory, because they have a guaranteed base of voters from the American diaspora. That’s a heavy weight on the scale that will consistently tip the balance toward the Republicans over any other party.
Look, let’s be real: the GOP is the only party that truly embodies patriotism. They represent the veterans, the volunteers, the wounded heroes, our national independence, and our wartime victories. They stand for the church, for morality, and for fundamental ethics. It’s exactly like the political landscape in certain parts of the South where, for a long time, you were told the only way to be a true patriot was to vote for a specific conservative faction. In those circles, being a "real" person meant backing the party that champions the military, the local religious leaders, and traditional values above all else.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s actually possible that even in 2015, there’s still a whole crowd of idiots out there who get worked up over this kind of stuff—all that extreme nationalism and tribalism.

Where's the brain?

Go ahead—try telling me this isn't all the same garbage. Try telling me that interview wasn't scripted and pre-arranged from the start. Everything has been rigged for twenty years. They just crawl out of their holes to put on these staged little shows whenever they need to manipulate the masses with some fake patriotic fervor. 🤣

Since Duke Sterling is backing Josipovich, we’re voting for Kolindica just to spite them. 🤣

It’s the same old crowd—it's all handshakes under the table. One news anchor gets an "exclusive" and the radical gets his platform, and everyone wins. It's funny how criminals can cooperate so beautifully when there's a shared interest involved, isn't it?

Larry Fox5 said:There’s another way out—just don't show up to vote. By signing that ballot, you’re basically handing over your blessing to the lesser of two evils, even if you know damn well it's a trap.

That way, you can at least walk around with a clear conscience... tell yourself this isn't your government or your leadership, just whatever the majority in this country decided to pull. At least then you can look yourself in the mirror in the morning.

Jeffrey Edwards76 actually nailed it in a thread a few pages back—about a quarter of the people in this country benefit directly or indirectly from this whole rigged setup, living off someone else's sweat or credit. You can't expect anything to change when the system is built to keep them winning.

To grab the majority needed to run the show, they have to resort to lies and dirty manipulation. Just facts...

Blank ballots don't actually carry any weight. If 99% of people turned in crossed-out or empty papers, the Republicans wouldn't go, "Oh, clearly the voters aren't giving us legitimacy." No, they’d just count the few valid votes they did get and call it a win. So, staying home to avoid voting for the Democrats is basically just doing the heavy lifting for the GOP.

Sure, staying home lets you look in the mirror. But if the Republicans sweep the board, you won't be able to see anything through the window anyway.

Larry Fox5 said:It’s honestly pathetic how even on a tiny, anonymous, non-political PDF like this, you still get these clowns trying to campaign and cheerlead for their little political parties.

Loys and Ken are clearly pushing the Republicans, while Süd and Matthew Young35 are all about the Democrats. It’s so obvious they're just stabbing at the screen with their bias...

Most of them just troll about football, but when it comes to politics—man, they really start cranking out those long-winded manifestos. 😁

I’d sooner tattoo every single one of Messi’s inkings onto my skin than join the Democrats—nothing but a bottomless pit of incompetence and petty scammers.🤦

But hey, anything beats the Republicans. Honestly, a massive flood, a typhus outbreak, or a swarm of locusts would probably do less damage to the country than having the GOP in power.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Irony aside—maybe free tuition wouldn't be such a disaster if there were actually some kind of filter in place to weed people out. But these days, there’s zero barrier to entry. No selection process, no incentive to actually grind because they're footing their own bill. Everything is just wide open.

Higher education has turned into mass entertainment. People enroll just because they can't be bothered to find a real job after high school—it's basically a way to kill time until something better comes along. You really think people like that are going to show up for anything meaningful? I doubt it. Listening to the crowd—whether it's in a lecture hall or a diner—you see the sheer volume of idiots holding a degree. Most of them lack character, basic cognitive function, or an original thought in their heads. Why are they there? Because they can be. And fine, everyone deserves access to college. But if you're looking for people who will actually take action and change things, you're looking in the wrong place.

I hear you, but I think you're describing a very specific bubble. In this country, the real issue isn't necessarily the quality of the education we're getting; it's the fact that we have such a tiny percentage of the population actually pursuing it. If you look at the major metropolitan hubs where the big universities are located, the economic and social landscape is miles ahead of those small towns where there aren't even decent schools or steady jobs to speak of.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Maybe we should just start a political party—why not? Most people here are either overeducated or heading that way anyway, so we've got the talent pool—we just need someone to actually pull the trigger. But that’s always been the issue in this country.

This country is missing a real student movement—something with actual teeth to drive change. But that potential was killed off long ago by free tuition and academic programs designed more for complacency than anything else.

Everyone keeps hyping up this confrontation at the local news station—it’s all noise. I don't get why a President would bother going toe-to-toe with some fringe host on a tiny regional network. It feels like the GOP is just so short on actual intellectuals that they've latched onto this fascist clown to act as their spokesperson.

😕 Look, we had a massive student movement back in 2009 regarding tuition costs. It didn't actually achieve its goal, so if you think things are "free" now, what exactly are you talking about?

Keith Miller30 said:Morgan Williams, we are talking about a sixty to one hundred twenty minute showdown. Of course a commentator on Fox News will side with the Republican candidate, just as a host on CNN would naturally favor the Democrat. Wouldn't someone truly confident in their own position simply accept the invitation and skyrocket their own ratings by absolutely dismantling their opponent on away turf? In my view, the only thing that matters is that they have two separate debates—one hosted by a major network like NBC and another elsewhere—and it doesn't necessarily have to involve that specific media figure. A candidate's chances won't be sunk simply because of a moderator's controversial past.

But yes, if one wants to avoid an away game, bringing up a moderator's history could certainly serve a purpose.

The real issue with Bujanec isn't his bias; it's the fact that he's a criminal, a junkie, and a total Nazi who wouldn't know real journalism if it hit him in the face. Trying to host a debate on his turf is like trying to play a professional football game in the middle of a swamp.

That’s the one.

Morgan Williams said:Exactly. Plus, considering he founded the youth wing involved in this whole mess—and clearly favors them—along with all that extremist nonsense, it’s actually perfect for him to be the moderator in this showdown for the Prime Minister's seat. He’s acting like he's untouchable, demanding retractions from CNN. My bad, you're right—why didn't the stupid FIFA decide to have an American referee for the USA-Italy match? That would have made sense. Fine, Bujanec isn't officiating here, but the logic holds up just as much.

Why on earth would a sitting President grant any kind of legitimacy through a guest appearance to a proven criminal, an addict, and a Nazi?

Look, Hamsun won a Nobel, Heidegger is practically a titan of philosophy, and then you have Thompson—just some local heavy metal guy who got coached into becoming a nationalist bard, a devout believer, a patriot, and oh yeah, a divorced tax dodger who took a massive payday from the GOP just to stay off the stage. Please, let’s not even attempt to put them in the same conversation.

Speaking of Thompson, here is another classic piece by Deجزulović that you really ought to read—it explores whether it’s actually true, or just a legend, that those drunk rockers from the San Francisco scene basically shoved him onto the stage.

Amanda Evans2 said:I’ve completely stopped browsing the daily newspapers, whether I'm sitting in a local diner or just buying them at the corner store like I used to. Honestly, the sheer flood of information coming through every other media outlet has just swallowed me whole. It’s the speed of it all, too; I simply don't have the time or the mental energy anymore to wade through endless articles that offer nothing more than three dry sentences of raw facts. That’s actually why I shut down my old social media accounts... I’ve noticed even you people don't seem to have the patience to follow my long-winded treatises anymore.

The only thing I’ll sit and read for longer than three minutes is Kafka, and frankly, that’s purely for the physical stimulation...

🤣 🤣

Dežulović is an incredible writer. If I’m being honest, though, my one gripe is that he isn't quite "radical" enough for my taste. Back when he was cutting teeth at a satirical rag like *The Onion*, he was sharp, biting, and actually mattered in the political conversation. But then he moved over to a major media conglomerate like News Corp, settled into a steady paycheck, and now he mostly just recycles old political tropes from the Reagan era or writes these polished pieces about sports. And honestly, this whole dramatic exit from the local paper? It feels like total bullshit. He’ll still be writing for the same corporate overlords, just under different mastheads that are just as problematic.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Milanović is an absolute idiot and lacks any sense of tact, but in this specific mess, he's actually winning. 🙏

He really doesn't need a circus right now. If he just handles this calmly, he comes off looking like the adult in the room compared to those agitators—it might actually boost his numbers.

After seeing those lunatics and that absolute clown Karamarko today, I finally made my decision: I’m voting for Milanović. Look, I still think the guy is a complete incompetent, but honestly, what choice do we really have? I’m sure a huge chunk of the other fed-up voters are reaching the exact same conclusion. It turns out Zoki actually played his hand pretty well here—whether he meant to or not.

James Anderson5 said:It’s really just the economic elite pulling the strings behind the political scene. It’s honestly sad how weak the Republican Party has become; instead of actually tackling Milanović with solid arguments—which they have plenty of—they resort to these primitive, destructive tactics that hurt the entire country. It's clear they lack a real platform, experts, or even basic logic...

Look, the Republican Party certainly has plenty of arguments to throw around, but let’s be honest—the opposition has a pretty solid case too. It’s just that their points tend to dig a little deeper into the GOP's messy history and Karamarko’s own track record. That’s probably why the party finds it much easier to stick to the old Sanders playbook: just ignore the facts and play directly to people's rawest emotions. Isn't that just the classic way to avoid a real debate?
