Upgrading my current rig in Desktops ·
Thanks for getting back to me so fast. 🙂

The Case is just some random mid-tower. Ask away if you need specifics, because honestly, I don't have a clue what the model name is anymore.

Okay, what if we bump the budget up to $3,000 and grab a new power supply if needed for a different setup?

EDIT:
Maybe even push it to $3,500, but I really want an SSD in there. I'm not exactly a hardcore gamer, so it's not my top priority, but I'd love to play a few games here and there without having to crank everything down to low settings.

Hey everyone 🙂

Here’s what I'm running right now:
  • Processor: Intel Pentium E5200
  • Motherboard: ASUS GA-EP31-DS3L
  • RAM: 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 9600 gt 512
  • Power Supply: Linkworld LPK19-30 500 Watt

I didn't list my optical drive or hard drive since I'm keeping those.

First priority is an SSD. Doesn't need much capacity—just enough for the OS, apps, and the games I actually play. My old HDD will just be for movies and series. Also, I need at least 4 GB of RAM.

As for the CPU and GPU, I want them to handle modern titles on decent settings. Not looking for "ultra" everything, just maybe medium or high.

I also need a new Case because my current one won't fit anything new. Budget-wise, let's try to keep it under $0.83.

Thanks. 🙂
Sweet! Watched the video and everything finally clicked. Thanks again 🙂
Thanks for the heads-up. I noticed that ED looked a bit sketchy too, so I probably won't be ordering through them, but I was genuinely curious about the difference haha

Also, if you don't mind, could you just explain what CL actually means?
So, if there's a difference between Class 5 and Class 6, maybe that just means the Class 6 is newer. Honestly, it probably doesn't even matter.
Hey. Just wondering if there's actually any real difference between these two sticks of RAM:

1.

2.

Thanks. 🙂

Exactly what The New Guy said. At this rate, the most demanding game you'd probably actually be able to run would be GTA V.

Look, I get it—I know I can't build a NASA supercomputer on this budget. But I’m just trying to get as close as possible. It doesn't even need to be top-of-the-line high-end gear; I just want the best bang for my buck for what I actually need to do.

Would an SSD actually make a difference here? Also, is there any point in running dual GPUs, or is that just a waste of time?

Hey there. I'm finally getting serious about gaming and video editing, so I'm looking to build a new rig. I need some recommendations for a setup that can actually handle modern titles without breaking a sweat. My budget is sitting around 4000-$1667.

The main goal is hitting those high or very high settings with a solid FPS. I also need a CPU beefy enough to handle gameplay recording at max settings simultaneously.
