I'm expecting a package via COD (cash on delivery $50 plus shipping), and there's a calculator on the FedEx website where I can run the numbers for the total cost. So, here’s the breakdown—package is under 2kg, it's a COD shipment, the value is $50, and it's just domestic shipping within the US. Shipping is $10. Add the COD fee to that, and you get $60. Is there anything else I should be looking out for—any hidden fees or extra costs?
Can I pick up two different items on an American Express installment plan at the same time? Right now, I'm already paying off one—I've got five out of six months cleared—and I'm looking to grab something else right now.
Is there going to be some kind of designated spot where I can drop my gear—like a backpack or whatever—that isn't inside the actual campgrounds? I'm looking for somewhere to leave stuff without needing a camping pass just to get through the gates.
darkmaker94 said:It can go up to $667. Your first installment hits on the next billing cycle. So, if you pick this up tomorrow, you won't see the charge until July 9th.
So, wait—it doesn't hit ten days after the purchase? I bought something through my American Express before and I'm pretty sure the first installment showed up on my statement about 10 days later...
With American Express, the maximum allowed amount is up to $667 (meaning the item can't exceed that price). I'm trying to figure out if it can be EXACTLY $667, or does it need to be at least a dollar cheaper? It feels a bit trivial, but that’s just how the math is landing right now.

So apparently there's zero difference between five minutes and two hours? Just stop being difficult and get off the thread already. People have given me perfectly reasonable answers and that's that.

Yeah, I read somewhere that snow is usually the main culprit... but a half-hour or an hour delay? That's pretty standard.
Hey, I'm looking for some intel regarding a train trip from ST to NYC. I want to figure out if taking the train is actually a better call than just grabbing a bus. According to the Amtrak site, a round-trip student fare for the ST-NYC-ST route comes out to about $77—which seems like a steal compared to the bus, especially since you can't even snag a student discount on most bus lines.
How reliable is the service—we talking frequent delays and stuff like that?—and how long does the ride to NYC actually take? Also, is it comfortable enough to sit through? Thanks 🙂

$67 on the actual day?? That's a solid price—the catch is you really ought to grab the ticket a couple of days before 😁 and round up a crew from down south to head up here, just to split the travel costs 🙂
darkmaker94 said:The interest rate on overdrafts for the student account package is 8.98% annually. So, if you were maxed out at $333 for an entire year, you'd end up paying $30 in total interest.
Yeah, that's precisely what I was looking for. Thanks 😁
Casey Bennett said:Interest is calculated on a daily basis based on the closing balance of your account, and then they settle up and charge you on the very last day of the month.
I've dipped into my overdraft a few times and honestly, I never noticed huge chunks of cash being sucked out at the end of the month. So, if I'm only going about 200-$100 over, are the interest rates actually that negligible?
$133 is basically the whole festival lineup before Coachella even kicks off :O I wonder if anyone else will be out there—you know, people selling their stuff at the very last minute? Maybe we can snag something for a decent price?
I've been thinking about this whole overdraft protection thing. Every time I dip into that negative balance, they’re hitting me with interest, right? When does that actually get charged—is it a monthly thing or do they just wait until the end of the year?
