Are people actually good? in Psychology ·
Treating everyone like they’re a decent human being? Honestly, in this day and age, it feels like a lost cause. It’s become totally pointless. You meet people and try to be friendly, but they just shut you out with a look or some cold attitude before you can even get a word in. I used to spend way too much time spiraling, wondering what was wrong with me or why people were acting so weirdly toward me, but I finally just called it quits. Everyone seems to be living in their own little bubble, terrified of actually connecting or—God forbid—having to answer a simple question from someone else.
Now, I just stick to my old friends, the ones who have been around forever. I’ve lost plenty of acquaintances and buddies over the years through various ups and downs, but if I’m being real with myself, I’ve started acting pretty cold toward people, too. I just don't have the energy to put in the effort anymore.

I actually agree with most of what you're saying here. >People today are honestly completely screwed, just wearing fake smiles while chasing nothing but their own interests. But look, man, who are you actually hurting with all this? Aside from endlessly wounding the people around you who actually give a damn—and let's be real, that’s mostly your family—you're basically just destroying yourself and acting like it’s some grand, heroic crusade. Get real. Bring yourself and those ridiculous expectations back down to earth.
What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism? in Students & Teens ·
My gift should be a beautiful memory that actually lasts\

I’m with you on this one. Honestly, godparents should aim for something meaningful—a keepsake. It’s hard to argue that some flashy new gadget is going to be a "memory" when it’ll be obsolete and gathering dust in a drawer within a year,
let alone something people cherish. My kid is having their big milestone this year too, and when her godmother asked for ideas, I told her straight up: buy something she can still look at ten years from now and say, "My godmother gave me this for my big day." As for the budget... man, hats off to you. I just hope I don't end up dropping more than that just to host a party for twenty people.
