Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
For the longest time, I was absolutely obsessed with my nose. It was a massive complex for me. Growing up, I felt so insecure about it that I spent years just waiting for the day I could finally convince my parents that surgery was the only way I’d ever feel okay in my own skin. I was sixteen, counting down the days until I could finally get it fixed. Then, I headed into New York City to consult with one particular plastic surgeon. What happened during that appointment was honestly something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. First off, the vibe of the place totally threw me—it wasn't messy or anything, but the realization that you're essentially letting someone hack away at your face in some private residence was terrifying enough to make me want to bolt. And then there was the doctor... man, those people are nothing but butchers. Seriously, they're just meatheads with scalpels. After sitting through that nearly hour-long consultation (and $133 what a rip-off that was), I practically sprinted out of his building in tears. I was a total wreck for an entire week. As soon as I got home the next day, I made a vow to myself: I am never, ever mentioning nose surgery again. Fast forward three years, and I still feel the exact same way. In the meantime, I’ve learned to embrace who I am. I realized I'm actually pretty attractive, even if my nose isn't "perfect," and honestly, it’s the only physical flaw I really have. I haven't given the idea of surgery a second thought, especially after I went through that major surgery where doctors were literally fighting to save my life. It taught me that you should never gamble with your health. Today, I am incredibly relieved that I didn't go through with it! 😁
The Grudge (2004) in Movies ·
So, when The Grudge was blowing up at the box office, I actually went all out to set the mood... stayed home alone, killed all the lights, and tuned into NBC. And honestly? Total letdown. It’s not like the movie is garbage, but it definitely isn't anything special either. Usually, I stay far away from horror flicks because I get those weirdly paranoid vibes afterward—like I'm hearing water dripping or a door creaking shut—but after this one, I didn't feel even a flicker of that! 😁 There are a few decent scenes here and there, but overall, it just wasn't scary at all. I read somewhere that Grudge 2 (the whole DVD collection) is way, way better. Apparently, even the American version holds more weight. I'm just not really feeling like watching it right now since the original left me feeling so underwhelmed...
What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism? in Students & Teens ·
I’m actually serving as a godmother at a Christmas Eve celebration in two weeks. The girl is just a year younger than me—she's 17—and we are incredibly close. Honestly, that’s exactly why she picked me for the role!😉 So here's the thing... the gift doesn't need to be some massive, over-the-top gesture, $1000. That would be way too much! I have no intention of dropping more than $800, maybe even less $300. I’m thinking about getting her some jewelry, like a white gold necklace and pendant, or maybe a new iPhone since there are some killer deals running right now at Best Buy and T-Mobile. She actually told me herself that she doesn't want anything crazy expensive because she'd feel awkward about it, especially knowing that people in the dance community don't exactly have money to burn. I can't quite pin down when Christmas shifted from a meaningful tradition into this weird, competitive gift-giving marathon, but honestly, it’s a total disaster! Back when I was her age, my godmother gave me a necklace and a cross that I still wear every single day; they mean the world to me. But even more than the jewelry, I treasure the fact that she’s always been there for me. To me, that connection is worth a million times more than any physical object.
Have a blast, cheers!😉
