Honestly, when you all start talking about elderly folks who are obsessed with stroke recovery, I feel like we really need a dedicated thread titled "How to Deal with Family Drama." I’m already tearing up just thinking about the planning stages. It’s always one thing after another—this person says this, that person demands that, and then there’s the husband insisting everything needs to be perfectly peaceful at home. But what are you supposed to do when they start crying? How do you even begin to handle that kind of emotional pressure?

... Listen, ladies, if you want the absolute best way to decorate a cake, go with fondant—or whatever that fancy term is... I can never remember. If you top it with fresh flowers, you won't be charged nearly as much, and the whole thing will look just like those high-end cakes they make over in the States. Just a heads-up though: every flower needs its own little support stake. If you don't, the bottom layer turns into nothing but a sugary mess because anything touching the cream is going to wilt and ruin everything. I really wanted to try a bit of everything... *sniff*... but my mom—who, let's be honest, is quite the seasoned pro at this—convinced me of a few things 🙂

Hey everyone... I’ve got a bit of a dilemma regarding the dessert situation for my wedding. My mom runs a small home-based baking business and does cakes and pastries for weddings from time to time, but obviously, she won't be handling mine. To be honest, we’re a bit skeptical about hiring outside caterers; we’ve sat through too many weddings where the dessert spread was just a bunch of mediocre, identical-tasting sponge cake masquerading as variety. Now, my mom makes arguably the best sweets you could ever taste, so if anyone knows a local baker who produces genuine, high-quality homemade treats that actually live up to the hype, I’m all ears. On the flip side, if anyone happens to be looking for reliable, homemade desserts from someone they can actually trust, let me know. 🙂
