That’s basically right near the Antunovic highway area in San Jose... heading toward the suburbs... but I’ve actually never heard of that specific bakery. Usually, most people grab their stuff from Tom & Anna’s in San Jose or Hemingway’s Sweets over there too. We used to get cakes from those Hemingway guys for Seka’s communion, and they were fantastic. Back then they were like $22 a pound... now they're probably like 75 bucks or $27... but they really feel homemade and every single cake actually tastes the way it's supposed to. Plus, they’re fully licensed and everything
So, I’m looking at a guest list of about 130 people... and my mom is already on my case saying we need at least 130 pounds of dessert. Apparently, there's zero margin for error here. I have to make sure the godparents get their share, then more for the immediate family, a little less for the extended relatives... and everyone else just gets those little individual pastry boxes. Honestly, I don't even know if I can pull this off.
So, here’s the situation... I’m looking at a guest list of about 120 people. I’m planning on picking up roughly 140 pounds of assorted pastries. Is that enough if I want to pack little gift boxes for everyone to take home, while making sure the maid of honor, the best man, and both sets of parents get the lion's share?
Gabrielle, remind me where you picked up those cookies and that cake? I feel like I missed the update on that... If anyone is looking for good treats after catching a movie at the AMC near downtown, check out Kašnar’s—it's right next to the video store.

Yeah, she gave some to me, her bridesmaid, her close relatives, and all that.
Yeah... I see Jack & Jill's van driving by all the time, so you'll have to tell me—how much does all that cake actually weigh? If I were doing a cake and dessert spread for 120 people, I’d probably be looking at closer to 150 pounds of sugar. When I was checking out the place in downtown Chicago, some woman there asked what kind of style I wanted and said it would cost $667, which honestly seemed like a steal. P.S. Has anyone ever heard of those bakers from Columbus who are always setting up shop at the local wedding expos?
