Wedding cakes and desserts

I just don't get it. If I head to a high-end bakery for a slice of cake, I'm totally fine paying $10, $12, or even $15 $6.75 depending on the flavor; but seriously, why is anyone complaining about paying $10 $4.00 per person for a slice of wedding cake?!
