I mean, that’s really what this whole forum is for, right?

And honestly, that stand looks straight out of a fairy tale—don't you think? 😍

🤣

Totally! It’s almost as if it was custom-made specifically for that space. 🙂 I really need to remind my wife to add a few decorative touches to it, and then it’ll be great. 😍

The one on the third floor with the ivy growing on it?

Okay, I definitely swiped the stand idea 🤦

But if I recall correctly, I actually lifted the cake design from Liza 🤦🙈

Lysy, I really loved those photos you shared. It looks like you're getting back into peak shape! 😍 Thanks for the photos

That cake David made is absolutely stunning 🙏

After searching and searching and searching, I finally decided to just go with the simplest option—a classic white cake decorated with delicate vine patterns on a simple pedestal stand. 😉

Hey everyone, I could really use a little help here...

Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some gift boxes? I need them for some cookies I'm making. Please don't suggest the boutique near the mall—I actually went there to reserve some specifically, but they ended up selling them out from under me, so now I'm stuck empty-handed... 😢

I'm looking for dimensions around 14x14 cm and 8 cm deep. The ones I saw were $2.25, and a local packaging company sent me a quote for $6.50 plus tax 😲

Personally, I’m leaning much more toward the first one too!!! 👍

Also, I see you all have been hitting up Apple and Kaiser for desserts... We ended up going with Apple; everything is always so fresh and delicious, so we grab their stuff for pretty much every occasion. I actually picked up some from Kaiser yesterday to give them a shot since everyone here raves about them, but honestly? Total letdown. They all tasted exactly the same to me, and don't even get me started on that neon pink "authentic homemade" cake I saw—yikes! To be fair, Apple has a couple of varieties that aren't really my thing either—like those super dry ones loaded with cocoa—but we just skip those.

🤣 We actually nicknamed that one the "blah" cake. 😉They didn't wow me either, even though I grabbed them specifically because of the hype around here...

Frank, Sugarland might actually be able to recreate those beautiful patterns for you. They did that for me once and the results were lovely. I wish I had a photo of the cake to show you. 😢Which flavors did you end up choosing? And are you using their display stand or Trajbar's? A friend of mine had the Trajbar one, but I never thought to ask her about it. Apparently, they had a small wedding over in Trajbar recently and ordered their cakes from Sugarland. 🙂

I thought I’d share a little update with you all... Yesterday, I organized a bit of a family tasting session at my place. It was basically a full house: my mom, my aunt, my cousin, and even my future sister-in-law joined in. We set out a massive spread featuring brands like Kasnar, Srecek, Cukeraj, and Meli to see which would work best for the big day. After some very serious deliberation, the jury reached a verdict: we’re going with Cukeraj and Meli. While Meli offers those classic cookie-style treats that feel just right for our wedding date, Cukeraj has that wonderful, creamy texture we love. They are both absolutely delicious, but I’m actually a little hesitant about ordering too many. Since quite a few of our relatives live far outside of New York City, I’d hate to send them home with a box of cookies that might not survive the long trip!

Has anyone actually tried Charlotte? (The one on Broadway near the Holy Spirit area). I'm planning a super small wedding, just about 30 people, so I'm feeling a bit lost on where to start with the cake. Thanks!

I actually live right by the Holy Spirit area, so Charlotte is basically right under my nose, though I don't find myself stopping in there all that often. To be honest, I wouldn't even go if they didn't offer fructose-free options; since my partner is diabetic, whenever I don't feel like baking from scratch, I'll pop in to grab something for him. They look beautiful, but in my opinion, the flavor is pretty much the same across the board. Personally, I wouldn't recommend them, but of course, it’s entirely up to you and your own preference.😉

Thanks so much! 😘 I’m going to call my niece right now—she lives just a few blocks away from there😉

Girls, I’ve got a cake tasting scheduled at Sugarland the day after tomorrow—wish me luck so I can actually make up my mind right away, because if I don't... I'll probably end up gaining a hundred pounds... 😂

Personally, I find the Strawberry Icewind at Sugarland to be incredible—just delicious! It’s also great with chocolate. While I wouldn't say their other cakes blew me away, they certainly aren't bad by any means...

After doing a lot of thinking, I’ve decided I might go with Vincek for the wedding cake. In my opinion, their decorations are the most elegant—provided you remind them a hundred times that you don't want anything tacky. Plus, my mom, my aunts, and the whole older crowd won't accept a cake unless it's loaded with chocolate and walnuts. But then again, when I look at the guest list and think about what would actually delight the younger crowd, I think it would either be a cheesecake (either from Torte&to or maybe myself 😉) or that strawberry chocolate Icewind from Sugarland... So, I'm leaning towards choosing Vincek for the main wedding cake, plus a few other varieties for those who prefer something different. My absolute favorite is the little Vincekov chocolate cups, but since there's only $11 (?!?!), once I realize I need at least 140 of them, the cost just becomes too much... 😢

We will probably get the cookies from Mel's. Sorry, I know I should be reading the previous posts, but I just haven't had the time. So please—where is Kašner?
