Looking for a specialist... in Health ·

Greetings,
Could any kind souls please offer a recommendation for a dentist located in New York City? I am looking specifically for a private practice. To be perfectly honest, I have an immense fear of dental work and virtually zero tolerance for pain.😢

I believe I have already mentioned her once before. My mother and I are... hers The patients are extremely satisfied with the results.
My mother underwent full upper denture prosthetics with her, and I must say, she is quite pleased with the final result.
I have personally undergone several fillings and a full root canal treatment, and I truly have nothing but praise for the experience. I highly recommend their services. 👍

I've actually had their pastries and a whole cake before.
The cake was particularly delicious, to be honest.😍
It had a chocolate base, a vanilla middle layer with some kind of fruit—I can't quite recall which one—and then a top layer made of chocolate and strawberries. 🙂

Has anyone here had any experience visiting the Vineyard specialist, Sanja Gršić - Burić?
I'm curious about her fee schedule and what her typical office hours look like.

I attended a birthday party this past weekend where I had the opportunity to sample some muffins and cake from a local bakery called "Meli," and I must say, while they were certainly pleasing to the eye, the experience ended there.
The presentation was lovely, but the flavor profile was, frankly, a disaster. The muffins were incredibly dry and tough, and the cake featured a layer of cream so thin it was practically translucent—it lacked any real substance or taste. My suspicion is that the cake was made using fondant; that particular substance is dreadfully rubbery and quite impossible to eat.
It felt like a total waste of money, especially considering the muffins were priced at $6.75/each. 👎

I am currently looking for a new primary care physician.
I'm specifically interested in the Kruge Medical Center, so if anyone knows a good doctor working there, I would truly appreciate the recommendation!

Dr. Verica Brozović Kisić.
I have been her patient for 20 years now and I couldn't be more satisfied.

I am currently on the hunt for a reliable, highly competent gynecologist in the Washington, D.C. area. Ideally, I am looking for someone who accepts Medicare and offers ultrasound services in-house.
I attempted to secure an appointment with Dr. Sheban over on Schwarz Street, but his schedule is completely booked up at the moment. 😢

I really feel the need to give a shout-out to an auntie I know who makes absolutely incredible pastries.
My mother used to pick up her treats for family gatherings back when I was getting married. If I recall correctly, the price was roughly $22/lb. Honestly, they aren't just delicious; the presentation is stunning. They are leagues ahead of those generic Hostess snacks I ended up grabbing for the reception.
For my father’s 50th birthday, we decided to order one of her cakes along with two pounds of assorted pastries.
My only slight concern is whether she is able to provide a formal receipt if we need one for a venue.

Here is the link where you can see her cake designs:http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...3360958&ref=mf

A client brought in some M&M's cookies today, and I have to say, they are absolutely delicious. They’re actually a bit better than those cookies from Costco I had at a wedding recently.

I certainly didn't last long in mine. 🙂
They felt perfectly fine while I was just lounging around the house, but that's a completely different story when you're forced to endure fifteen hours straight in them.

quietbadger7 said:I’m actually planning on swinging by Nothing Bundt Cakes later today to talk about ordering some treats myself! I had their sweets back in March and they were honestly delicious, plus the prices weren't bad at all. Does anyone know if their prices are still $22 or have they bumped them up since then?

The price is still $19. For my last order—which included about 35 pounds of pastries and a large cake for a party of 100—it ended up costing me exactly 2 $47. 🙂

I wanted to share some praise for the lady over at Smile Bakery. She prepared a cake and several pastries for me, and I am beyond satisfied with the results. To be fair, I only managed to sample one of the cookies, but I certainly made quick work of two large slices of the cake. It was truly exquisite. I highly recommend her work. Here are a few photos.

swiftridge90 said:Hey, quick question...
At the bakery, they told us that 7 ounces per person should be plenty, and we’re looking at a max of 90 guests for the wedding. So, I was wondering—do you guys usually take the cookie boxes already filled up and hand out one to each couple as they head out? Or do you wait until most of the guests have cleared out, then just pack whatever is left on the dessert table into boxes for the last few people hanging around?? Honestly, I hadn't even thought about this yet... and now I really need to give them an answer.🤷

I wouldn't personally suggest doing favors with the cookies, but if that's the route you want to take, every guest really ought to receive their fair share. In that case, you'd want to have everything packaged ahead of time rather than just handing out the leftovers.

Nathan Cox25 said:I called them and their rates are actually pretty reasonable
$22/lb for pastries + about $1200$467 for a cake for 150 people (depending on the decor)
Are the pastries actually any good, or is it just eating cardboard?

My husband cleared more than half his plate, while I just had one slice of Canadian chocolate cake. Personally, I think the sweets are great, though we’ve always been the kind of people who would probably enjoy eating literal garbage if it were smothered in chocolate sauce😬
It might be best to just swing by their shop, sample some of the pastries, and decide for yourself right then and there.

Did you guys get free samples?
How do they charge for cakes?

I gotta admit, their prices look amazing, but I've never actually tried them so I have no clue if they're any good.
Does anyone know if they have a shop in NYC I can hit up?
I know Aspen isn't exactly around the corner, but I don't drive and I'm working like crazy 100 hours a week (gotta pay for this wedding 😂), so it's kind of a hassle.

The price is still sitting at $22/lb.
When we went in to finalize our dessert order, the lady there actually brought out a little sampler plate for us to try. Personally, I thought they were pretty decent.
I'm not entirely sure how they calculate the cake costs, though. Ours was made with fondant, three tiers high, with a different flavor for every layer, serving about 120 guests—it came out to $333.
The cake looked something like this (note those little decorative curls on it):

Delivery to the venue is already included in that quote.

swiftranger16 said:Anyone here actually used these guys before? Their cake and dessert photos look incredible.

I’m actually quite curious myself.
My sister-in-law was beyond impressed with their desserts, and she’s someone who can truly work wonders in the kitchen, so if she’s giving them a thumbs up, I’m inclined to believe her.
I’m considering booking them. The price is set at $22/kg, which includes delivery straight to the venue (within the Washington, D.C. area).
If anyone else has had a chance to try their stuff, please feel free to share your thoughts with us. 🙂

Michelle Fisher said:Has anyone here had any experience with any of these dentists?

She’s excellent. She doesn't take Medicare, so everything is strictly private pay. My mother had a 12-unit upper bridge done by her about a year ago, and she couldn't be happier—both the aesthetics and the functionality are spot on. I’ve also had a few fillings done there myself and had a similarly positive experience.
From what I gather, her father and sister are both dentists practicing in Germany, and she frequently travels over there to attend various seminars.
