goldenheron34 said:Quick question regarding ice cream shops in San Diego: does anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share? 🙂 Anyone?
(I'm asking for everyone except "Croquettes"—they wouldn't bother implementing FDA standards, so even if their pastries were the best, I probably wouldn't grab anything there—I guess. -.- )

I grabbed some tiramisu from Tiramisu and was honestly pretty stoked. The staff is super friendly and easygoing. I didn't get a chance to try their cake, but a ton of people have raved about it—even my sister, and she's basically allergic to anything sweet.

Anyone got a solid recommendation for a makeup artist in Seattle? 😁 thanks..
Hey, does anyone know where I can pick up some decorative bows in California, besides checking out that one spot in the suburbs?
Sophia Doyle2 said:Has anyone here ever attended a wedding where they had the Best band from Cleveland performing🤷🤷, and if so, would you mind sharing what they were like?
Thanks!

I was at one last year and honestly, I can't say enough good things—they totally blew me away... definitely recommend them. 👍

So, what’s the actual deal with the cake scene in Seattle right now? Where can I find the absolute best ones? And honestly—how much of a head start should I be giving myself if I want to actually snag something good before they're all gone?

Does anyone know if there are any dance studios in San Francisco that offer classes specifically for newlyweds?

Olivia Adams71 said:The "official" list? Zadarexpress, Kanela, MyWay, and some other group I can't be bothered to remember.
My personal top three: Amadeus, Big Fun, and Tempo.

One more thing regarding the local bands... which band from the West Coast actually has a female vocalist?

Quick—what are the top three bands in Zadar? 😁

I'm heading to New York City this weekend, so I'll check out the Suzy Price you mentioned for the basic package. It doesn't look bad at all compared to what things cost in NYC. One thing though—Suzy doesn't provide the camera herself, right? So, I'd have to factor in the extra cost for a camera, but the real issue is where to find one that isn't tied to the photo package.🤷🤔

We'll get to hear Tempo at a party we're attending soon, but it might be too late by then—they might already be booked for our date. We'll try to see them perform this weekend instead.

Since you've been so helpful in guiding me—do you happen to know anyone in NYC who does great makeup? Nothing heavy like stage makeup, just something natural that lasts all night? And also, someone who does amazing hair?

Thank you, thank you 🙂

I actually shot Suzy an email, and she sent over some videographer recommendations along with their contact info. So yeah, don't sweat that part too much.😁

I’m guessing all the top-tier bands will be booked up every single Saturday 🙂 we were eyeing September 10th, but hey, I guess I'll scrape something together—it's basically a double payday for them anyway, two gigs packed into one week 🙂

As for Trophy, I think they're phenomenal... they play everything from classic wedding hits to Dina Denis style (and they really know their stuff—it's a family of musicians, and the guy plays too), and they really get the crowd moving. At the wedding I went to, absolutely nobody—and I mean nobody—was sitting down (not even the older folks or the young crowd)... everyone was dancing... the energy was insane!!!
Unfortunately, they're fully booked for all of August. For September, the only date left when I checked was the 11th (at least), plus they have all of October 2010 open.
Anyway, here’s their number, give them a call... 555-019-8273
I'm not 100% sure about the price since I didn't get a direct quote, so I'll shoot you a private message with what I know, but you're better off calling them directly.

Hit me up in my PMs 🙂 so I can see if they're even remotely in my ballpark 🙂

I’ve got a party coming up this Friday, so hopefully that makes getting everything organized a little less of a headache..
My only real worry is that the bands might flake on me—they might decide it's too much of a grind to pull gigs both Friday and Saturday.. Is that actually a realistic concern? 😢

I'm having a hard time tracking down bands and photographers (the two biggest pieces of the puzzle) in the San Diego area.🙄

I see everyone pointing me toward Studio G, but since I can't find their website,🤷 I haven't been able to check out their portfolio. (I don't live in New York City, just visit occasionally😉).
If anyone could send a few of their photos to my inbox, I’d really appreciate it—just so I can get a feel for their style.

Also, Suzy seems decent, but I read somewhere that she's pretty pricey. If anyone knows what a basic package costs, please shoot me a PM.
At this rate, it feels like I might have to fly in a photographer from New York City along with our guests. 😁
And even there, the few we liked are already booked up.

Second thing—the bands. We were hoping to book Trofej-zauzeti for our date.🙄
We need someone who actually knows how to work a crowd.🙂🙂I know the vibe depends a lot on the guests, but we want a group that will get people dancing (we have a lot of young people attending).
Please, I need recommendations ASAP.
Even though our wedding isn't until September 2010, it feels like all the good ones are already taken.😢
Any info helps—who's great and who should be avoided.🙂

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks!👋

We're stuck in the exact same loop again. 🙂 If you happen to snag any photos, just pass them my way.
So, what's the deal with that band Trophy? And more importantly—what's the damage if someone actually wants to book them?

Can someone shoot me a DM with a brochure from the studio? 🙂
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
thanks a ton 🙂
but honestly, what’s the average price for a restaurant booth in San Diego? I have zero clue what to expect...
also, thanks for the heads-up on the bus lines!!
any idea how much Amadeus runs?

Jack Miller4 said:From what I understand, the Malibu line doesn't actually handle transportation services for weddings—at least, that's what I was told a little while back. If you need to arrange a bus, your best bets would be renting through Liburnia, Greyhound, or maybe even Chester. As for photography, my brother ended up using Atlantic for both his video and photos. The total cost worked out to be roughly $900 plus a little extra for tips.

So, was my brother actually happy with them?

fadedbadger35 said:I think the Hilton is running about $80 per person. There's actually a girl on here who's planning her wedding there right now, so she’d probably be your best bet for real numbers.
Buses should run around $1000.

Ugh, that's way out of my budget—we're looking at 200 people here, so I really need to find something more middle-of-the-road... affordable. Buses being $1000, though? That's awesome—thanks! And yeah, if that's the case, I won't even need much lodging, just maybe a spot for a few people who might want to stay privately.

Olivia Hill9 said:Yeah... I'm running into the same thing. I've read everything here, but there's just so little info regarding San Diego.
I'm not from San Diego either; my fiancé is, and we live in New York City now, but the wedding will be down south.
As for a restaurant, thank God, we've got that covered. But the photographer (which is huge for me) is a struggle. There’s hardly anything about it online. Susie seems like a good option http://www.suzynewlife.com/
but I'm also considering bringing someone from New York City or St. Louis, though the travel costs add up.
The band... same story. The ones I actually love, I don't even know if they're still around.🙄

It's the same deal for me—every band I used to know has basically vanished into thin air. 🙂 Which restaurant did you guys pick? How many people are you expecting?
The photography is a massive deal for me too, so I really don't want to rush into a decision there.

Eric Barrett26 said:The Marriott near the airport might work. It's right by the transit station. Greyhound or a local charter service could handle the buses. That Nadio photo studio I mentioned seems like a great call too... they do both photo and video
Suzy might be a bit pricey though. I don't know her exact rates... she seems to have separate pricing for just the ceremony, then the cake, and so on...

Thanks for the heads up... do you happen to know if any of these venues offer discounts for a Friday wedding? Also, do you know a San Francisco-based shuttle service that does rentals? Most of the guests coming by bus will be heading over from San Francisco, so I need to figure out what kind of prices we're looking at.
Any idea what Nadio charges for photography? 🙂 Just asking because I honestly have zero clue how much this stuff costs these days..

Ugh, thanks a million... I'm looking at about 200 people, so I need a venue in that ballpark. I saw that one thread where everyone was roasting almost every single hall—that was actually super helpful... I just don't know which places can actually handle 200 guests without feeling like I'm hosting an event in a massive empty stadium. Finding that "Goldilocks" zone isn't easy. My biggest headache is that I can't be driving back and forth to San Diego every single weekend to scout locations, so I can't visit everything myself. It would be a lifesaver if the venue was near a Hilton or some decent apartments, since most of my guests will probably need a place to crash. As long as it’s relatively close to San Diego—maybe as far out as a suburb like Dollis or even a little past that, but nothing crazy 🙂
Also, if anyone knows a reliable shuttle or bus company for rent, that would be huge.
As for the band, I need something that doesn't lean too hard into that cheesy country/folk vibe, but also isn't stuck in that aggressive rock era either. Something more urban/indie, but you know, not like they'd turn their noses up at some classic old-school hits.
Does anyone know a photo studio in San Diego that does both photography and videography? I stumbled upon Suzy's page and she seems legit... any idea what the price range looks like there?
Okay, I think that covers it for now 🙂 Hope I didn't overwhelm you with all this 🙂
