I reached out to my bridesmaid back in February, and she told me there was really no need for us to start planning anything just yet—she thinks we "have plenty of time"—since the wedding isn't until June. So, we decided to just hold off on talking through the "details" until March; the only things she actually knows right now are the date, the venue, and the color scheme I’m leaning toward. Oh, and we are definitely doing a light show. That's pretty much it 😁
Regarding our cake—yes, it might be a little overdone—but we’ll probably dial back the pink frosting... just so there isn't such a massive visual impact 😁
As for those rose decorations, they're actually edible; I checked with the event coordinator, and essentially the entire cake is edible...
And honestly, the price is great; $3.25 we have the chocolate/walnut option, $4.00 or the fruit one. Our total will likely hit up to $833 since we're doing a mixed selection for about 200 guests... I suppose that's a fair price, though—what do you ladies think?
I think this might just be our wedding cake...

What do you all think? 🙂

I’m absolutely loving the vibe of the place, but I’m totally in the dark regarding whether the service and everything else actually holds up...
The Ambience is Pre-Krasno, truly... but it is quite pricey. It was around $75 per person, I believe, and I don't think pizza, cake, or even dessert was included. I'm not even sure if the lamb was part of the deal? I just remember the total being incredibly high, even though so much was missing.
I had actually wanted to host my wedding there, but it felt like a bit too much for us...
Maybe try giving them a call and asking... I honestly can't recall all the specifics, since we were looking into it back in June.

in three days we’ll find out if this disaster actually works 😁

I really love this! 👍
Ours will be pretty similar—though maybe it’ll have some red accents added to it 🙂
Quick question regarding ice cream shops in San Diego: does anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share? 🙂 Anyone?
(I'm asking for everyone except "Croquettes"—they wouldn't bother implementing FDA standards, so even if their pastries were the best, I probably wouldn't grab anything there—I guess. -.- )
That is actually quite clever 😁
Daniel Smith8 said:goldenheron34, you're not late, don't sweat it... they'll probably just tell you to check back two or three weeks before the wedding to finalize everything anyway. Go ahead and reach out early just to make sure they aren't booked up, though I doubt they'd turn down a wedding easily even with how busy things get 😉
Haha, thanks for the reassurance 🙂
I doubt any of them would turn me away... since the wedding is on a Wednesday, anyway, Haha 😁
That early? :/
I suppose I should probably step back from this topic for a moment... what do you all think—is four months before the wedding too late?
Aha... that sounds great. I guess—how far in advance should we actually coordinate with them? Not just for the tastings, but for the wedding itself—how much lead time do they typically need to know we're ordering our cakes from them?
Could one of you experienced folks explain how the whole dessert tasting thing actually works?
I mean—is it just a matter of walking into a bakery and saying, "We're looking at cakes for our wedding here, would it be possible to sample some?"
Is there a fee for that? 😁 (I assume so, but I figured I’d ask anyway :P)
If someone could clarify a bit 🙂

I mean, sure, they’re probably the most perfectly decorated treats I’ve ever seen, but flavor-wise? They're just okay. Nothing spectacular. Plus, it's just some lady baking from her home kitchen—not even a real business or anything—so charging 😠 is wild. And she’s being such a headache about the cake itself; she calls me every three days with some stupid suggestion, even though I made it crystal clear that I want this kind of cake, just with flowers instead of a bride and groom. She’s gonna drive me crazy 🤦. And of course, because she says she doesn't have the right pan or whatever, it’ll end up being round 😬 haha, and yeah, extra frosting, or whatever 😢
Maybe I should just Exodus her—I guess. 😁
Yes, it really is $40—I actually stopped by there today to finalize everything... and the venue is fantastic, I'm quite fond of it!
Oh, $40? My coordinator mentioned it was down to $35 now... maybe they lowered the rates, or perhaps those younger folks requested extra items—so it ended up being that much.
Hmm... I am just so eager to hear back about whether the hall is available or not... ugh, that's really the most crucial part, and I haven't sorted it out yet, ahhh 😁 Fingers crossed that I get it 😁
Anyway, I feel a bit better now that you've given me such positive feedback 😁 😍
Does anyone here happen to have any experience with the "foodie" spot—the old "NBA" place—over in Jersey, specifically in San Diego? I'm wondering what the food and service are like, I guess. Thanks in advance! 🙂))
