Honestly, it felt incredibly unprofessional. My advice? You absolutely have to schedule a trial run—a full-on test of the exact look you want for the big day. I heard through the grapevine that one girl's foundation literally cracked overnight, and apparently, she was also being done up by Nancy Pelosi!!!
I mean, what does "cracked foundation" even mean? I know my way around cosmetics and makeup pretty well, but I've never actually heard that term used before...
Matthew Garcia9 said:Hey ladies! Does anyone know where I can pick up some cork stoppers for those Orangina-style bottles around Indianapolis or the surrounding area? I checked the wedding supply aisle at the local grocery store, but nothing fits—they're either way too small or way too huge. I’ve basically hit up every shopping mall in the area and still haven't found the right size. If anyone has a lead, please let me know!! I have a massive pile of bottles and zero stoppers, which is starting to stress me out. The wedding is in 13 days and I’m still stuck without them... ugh. 😲 🙂 Thanks for the help!!!
We ended up going with those rubber stoppers that have a little cap on top—they're actually better because they don't crumble or leave bits behind. We picked them up at Tower Records. You can find all sorts of different stoppers down at the main flea market, near the end of the indoor section by the main post office. There’s a woman there who sells all kinds of bottles—some are even decorated or painted—and she carries various little caps and different types of stoppers too.
You can find some ribbon at Theaters or over at Hobby Lobby—I think they have it $5.75 right there, though I'm honestly not sure if it comes in 10 or 20 meter rolls... They also carry it at Walmart, but those prices are a bit steeper there.
I caught a glimpse of Samir's photos—honestly, they are absolutely stunning, maybe some of the most beautiful shots I've ever laid eyes on. I have Maya, and I’d definitely recommend her too...😍
There aren't really any set rules here—it's more about whatever feels right to you! I tend to bring my whole crew along to everything—family, close friends, everyone...
So, it turns out we’re actually heading out this weekend—some relatives from the Midwest are visiting family nearby, so we figured we might as well take advantage of the trip and drop things off in person rather than dealing with the hassle of shipping... Now I’ve suddenly realized I have three days to track down those 😕 bottles, and honestly, I'm starting to worry that the whole family gathering is going to 😱
Yeah, I feel like that’s mostly just a thing people do out in the Midwest—some folks go all out, while others just hand out simple invitations. Personally, I think this whole idea is pretty cool... Oh, right—I totally blanked on the flag, thanks for pointing that out! I didn't realize you could just stick to one type of drink, which honestly makes things so much easier. I was picturing a bottle of bourbon with some gold filigree or maybe some lace detailing—nothing too over-the-top, though. Usually, when people have invited us over like this before, they’d show up with a basket filled with two or three different kinds of spirits, along with those little tasting glasses... But yeah, if there's a larger group, then we're looking at bourbon, cherry brandy, and maybe some wine... Thanks, ladies!
It’s not really a basket for invitations, I can’t quite think of the right term... It’s more like that tradition where you go door-to-door visiting family to hand out wedding invites, carrying a little basket filled with drinks—so when you actually deliver the invitation, everyone has to toast to the news. That's how we're planning to do it, though I'm still stuck on what kind of booze we should bring along...
Hey ladies, I have a quick question for you all: we’re starting our visits soon and we'll be bringing along those gift baskets, so I’m a little unsure about what actually goes inside... should it be bourbon, cherry brandy, maybe some other spirits?🤷 Is there a specific order we should follow when making the rounds—like, do we need to visit the godparents first?
Robert Moore86 said:Hey, does anyone know how much organza usually goes for? Specifically looking for the average price of a 10m bolt. The venue is offering to source a 10m roll for me for $12, but I have zero clue what the going rate is... so I can't tell if that's actually a good deal or just standard pricing everywhere else...
That sounds like an amazing price to me—I doubt you'd find anything cheaper out there. Usually, if you walk into a local craft shop or a florist, a roll will run you at least $27. Just make sure to ask about the width, though... for that kind of money, it should be at least 50 cm wide...
How did I manage? Well, I was actually there about ten days ago—I picked up 10 rolls of organza in the exact shades I’d been hunting for, specifically peach, champagne, and rose, plus some floating candles and a few other little trifles. The organza was only $12 10 bucks; I honestly couldn't find anything close to that price anywhere else in the States. I headed back again this past Monday and grabbed that satin ribbon I want to use for the lapel bows $3.25 25 yards. The woman actually keeps this massive warehouse of fabrics right at her house—you can find just about anything there, really... hundreds of rolls of tulle, mesh, organza, and even those specialty linings in colors I don't think I've ever seen before, not to mention floral accents, lapel trinkets, candles... you name it. She can put together custom lapels for you at $1.00 per piece, though she already billed me for my material costs a couple of months back—it came out to roughly $73 for 300 pieces.

I am looking for some firsthand accounts regarding catering services (though I am also weighing the option of simply ordering some platters from Billie, for instance 😉). Thank you!
The Lipov cold cuts are fantastic, definitely recommend them, but you might also want to check out the catering options over at Nutrition: http://www.prehrana.net/catering-osijek-bugarin.html Their presentation is really lovely, and word is they’re pretty affordable, too. They actually had a booth at the fair out in the Prairies, and honestly, theirs was the best-looking setup there...
Michael Mendoza15 said:Hey ladies! I'm looking for recommendations for good bakeries around Indianapolis (that's where the wedding is) and also places for invitations in the same area. Has anyone worked with desserts from Grandma's Creek or Katherine's treats in Indy? 🙂
http://www.cvijet.info/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1420 I'm not entirely sure if this will be much help to you... I did hear something about a rose nursery located just outside of Portland, though I don't know the exact location...
The most basic, budget-friendly option was $500, which could go up to about $1667 if we included wall graphics. We gave him a ballpark figure of what we were looking to spend—around $3,000 tops—so everything should fit within that range. We don't need any of those inflatable decorations, nor do we need the walls painted (since there aren't actually any walls in the hall), but he mentioned he’d throw in a few extras. We still need to sit down and finalize the exact list of what's included before we head back to see him. We put down a deposit back in June of last year, so I'm honestly not sure if he's bumped up his prices since then...

Welcome to the group! Personally, I’d suggest checking out Igor from St. Louis—we used him for our last project, and he's great (if you send him an inquiry, he can show you plenty of his portfolio): http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/p...00000504890903 http://www.youtube.com/user/gothicsb.../1/OGsFvJ-aFRc
