Walter Martinez2, I am curious to hear your final assessment. Just how much did you actually save on those desserts, considering you were sourcing all your ingredients from big-box retailers? Let’s be honest—for the average American household, baking at home has become an absolute luxury these days, hasn't it?
Furthermore, wouldn't it be more cost-effective to purchase spirits directly from a restaurant at their wholesale rates—which is standard practice, after all—rather than paying the inflated prices found at retail centers? Or are you suggesting that you are making your own liquor at home? 🤷

Shouldn't every single pastry chef be required to have a refrigerated van on hand? Honestly, I don't care how high the temperature rises; heat is no excuse, nor is the claim that they need to deliver treats early to prevent them from "melting" before the wedding. Just bring them in a cooler if you have to. If I am paying for a premium service, I expect nothing less than absolute professionalism...

Ladies, you need to be incredibly firm during negotiations. Make it crystal clear from the start: if even one thing goes wrong, they won't see a dime of your money, and you'll hold them strictly accountable. I truly cannot see any reason why someone shouldn't be able to perform their job correctly when given the tools to do so. 🤷

As for those cutting corners, that is exactly why we are here—to share our experiences and help one another spot the amateurs. 😍

Morgan Murphy, I am just seeing this now—truly a brilliant idea. 😍

One could easily purchase these small containers at stores such as Kika, IKEA, or Muller (the kind used for spices, sugar, salt, or whatever else you might need, and they usually come with lids, so you can repurpose them in the kitchen later). Simply fill them with the sweets bought from the bulk aisles at Muller or Walmart. It’s wonderful; I am certain the children will be perfectly cooperative and refrain from scribbling all over the guest book. 🙂
