Yeah, that's true, but the issue is that isn't how things work in our neck of the woods, so... yeah, figure it out, buddy. But look, things are shifting slightly. We'll eventually end up with three different options, so we'll probably find some way to make it work. We honestly thought this wouldn't be an issue, but then suddenly 🙂

I was just mulling things over while we were heading out with my folks to one more of those sit-downs with our hall manager, and then my darling confirmed it today—yeah, they really do need all that paperwork. Honestly, we don't even have a system like that where we're from; we just keep our own cookies at home and their cookies at their venue, and everything stays perfectly organized. I'm seriously looking forward to those treats 😍

I haven't seen much being said about this here lately, or maybe I just missed it, but I’m curious—for those of you getting married in a church, how did you handle the music situation? Did you go with someone well-known in the community or just someone from within your own congregation? We’re kind of hitting a wall with our planning right now, so I’m trying to figure out what our actual options are. We were supposed to have this all squared away by now, but honestly, the whole thing just fell through at the last minute.🙂 Help!

Seriously? I’ve heard the whispers floating around, but I had no clue it was actually becoming official law. 🤷 Honestly, it makes me wonder who on earth is actually going to be responsible for policing all of this.

themalosunce So, I was just chatting with our local baker 🙂 . She’s honestly such a sweetheart, and man, she really knows her stuff when it comes to making dessert fantasies out of cakes and pastries. Anyway, she gave me this bit of advice—don't go overboard with the sweets. She reckons about 10-15 ounces per person is plenty. If you look at it in terms of actual pieces, we're talking maybe 4 or 5 servings per person. You've got to think about how guests actually behave; they'll want to try a little bit of everything, tasting different types of cake. Why end up with a mountain of leftover pastries sitting there untouched? You might as well take that extra cash and spend it on something else instead.

@Lawrence Doyle5 look, we’ve already got the dessert menu locked in. It really just comes down to the final headcount, but honestly, I’m not sweating it—we’re going to have this whole spread laid out on the dessert table looking pretty sharp. Roughly like this:

The only thing left is figuring out how many cakes we actually need. As for the flavors? That’s going to be a headache because everything looks so good, it's hard to narrow down which ones to pick 😍

I was just browsing eBay, and honestly, you can find just about anything on there. If you're going to go that route, just make sure your order actually shows up when it’s supposed to, otherwise you might miss the window for handing out those invitations 😉 .

cosmiclynx18 who on earth is making your desserts? For stuff like this, you really need to pick a professional pastry chef's brain. They’re the experts—they actually know how much weight per guest you need to account for. If you're planning on having several large cakes, then you don't even need nearly this many of those little bite-sized treats just to fill up the dessert table. But, if you're planning on packaging them up as party favors for guests to take home, make sure you set those aside separately so you can keep an actual headcount of what goes where. Talk to your inner circle, honestly, if you haven't already. People have been around the block; they definitely know which guests are going to inhale everything in sight and who actually has a sweet tooth 😁
We actually have one of our final meetings with our pastry chef next week. I can probably ask them specifically about the best portions per person, assuming it isn't too late for you to wait until Tuesday 😉

Yeah, this is way better. Just a heads-up though—watch out with those extra little additions like the one in this photo where there’s a "ring" attached to the ribbon. If you start adding stuff like that, you might end up getting zapped. In my book, if you're even bothering with a ribbon, keep it simple. Don't go overboard. Just tie it into a neat little bow and you've already hit that festive vibe 🙂 .
Our invitations didn't have anything on the front at all; we just put the word "Invitation" in the bottom right corner and called it a day. 😁

I’m with you—don't overthink it. Simplicity is always more elegant anyway. Personally, I’m leaning toward this cream-colored coffee shade. Black and white looks formal, sure, but it feels a little too much like an obituary notice 🤷 . Anyway, I have zero doubt your invitations are going to look great 😁 . Ours were basically just the American version since we had to send some out overseas too: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...a3252356835e4c

So, we headed over to the bookstore on El Paso Street—it’s right by where The New York Times office is, just across from the deli, near the intersection with Istri Street. They’ve got those huge colored cardstock displays there. Honestly, though, you wouldn't be able to pin down exact printing costs just from looking at them. Back when we were living in White, we used to handle all our printing stuff through his parents' connections. Anyway, the crew at Magic Team does solid work—really high quality—so you should probably go poke around and ask them. I can't give you a specific number because everything depends on what you're dreaming up, how many you need, and all that jazz. One tip: when you pick a print shop, ask if they do custom paper tinting. That's how we managed to get that exact shade we were hunting for. 😉I'm telling you, it all comes down to what you actually want and how complicated you're making these invitations.

silentraven18 said:Hey ladies,

Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with the Mosaic flower shop over in Indianapolis?
I'm wondering how they handle their business—do they actually follow through on what they promise? Also, if you happen to know anything about their general pricing or what kind of quality you get for your money (I realize it probably varies quite a bit depending on the specific blooms or extras), I’d love a little ballpark figure just to have a guide.

I used Mosaic back in May and honestly, the woman running the place is fantastic—totally reliable. You can sit down and talk through everything with her; she’s super flexible and really tries to make things work for you. As for a deposit, she's cool with doing it upfront or later, whatever works best for your schedule. Just a heads up though, if you're thinking about booking them, move fast. They're popular as hell and their calendar fills up way quicker than you'd think.😉

feralcyclist54 said:Hi there,

I'm looking for some band recommendations for a wedding. I need a group that can nail those traditional folk sets but also play all the other genres... just really fun, upbeat music 🙂 and knows how to keep the energy high 🙂
Any photographer recommendation?

Thanks! 🙂

Look, if you want bands like Twist of, Orion, or Silver (we actually booked them ourselves), those guys are versatile as hell. They’ll play anything—fun hits, foreign tracks, even that old-school country stuff. You name it, they play it. As for a photographer, Cerić is your guy; he’s been in the game forever and his work is rock solid. If you want someone a bit younger, go with Marin Franov. I know him personally, and the guy is totally legit. Just a heads up though: with both bands and photographers, the biggest headache is always whether they're actually free on your date. So, don't dawdle. Get out there and start asking questions now if you want to lock in the best options. 🙂

Hey, regarding that rosemary you all ordered—who did you guys end up getting it from? I’m looking for someone actually reliable, and I need to know what kind of prices we're talking about. Also, have you already gone ahead and decked them out with pins, or did you just leave them plain? I'm specifically looking for someone around the St. Louis area.
