I just watched a video by Krizmanić, shot by Andrew, and I have to say, it was great! When it comes to our session, it’ll just be my dad and me behind the camera, and I honestly think it’ll turn out wonderful. Neither my fiancé nor I are really the "posing" types, so we want to keep things as simple as possible. Just a few nice shots to remember the day by, and then we'll stick to the usual routine: some photos at home, hanging out with friends and family, the first dance, cake, the ceremony at the church with everyone—it’s going to be perfect! As for timing, we'll see how it goes... local high-end studios charge an absolute fortune, and they tend to drag things out by burying you in extra tasks. I actually know a couple who waited nearly a year just to get everything finalized (I've mentioned that before).
Just putting this out there in case anyone needs it: DraftKings - just about $30 $0.00 plus lunch, which we’ll need to budget for based on the final headcount. Barun Trenk - bos - minimum 20 $0.00 for up to 300 people; the price per head actually drops if more show up. They quoted me $18 per person plus lunch $12 for a group of up to 450, provided at least 40 people sign up for the meal.
DraftKings and Barun Trenk... does anyone know how much lunch will run us tomorrow if we just stick to the salad? If I remember right, it's $17 per person, right?
We haven't officially put down a deposit yet—we wanted to do a bit more digging first—but it’s looking pretty certain. My only tiny gripe is that I wish the dance floor was just a little bigger. We’ve cleared all the food safety standards, and as for the desserts and drinks, we’re checking in with the catering team to see if we should handle everything ourselves!
We were thinking...$53 everything is set except for the hunting trip! A venue for 450 people would be $17,500 plus $1,500 for lunch! We finally got the guidelines, so now we just need to crunch the numbers and decide which option works best! 🙂
I need enough for about 450 people, which is $53, though that was the case just a few months ago. 😁 We're heading over to Ivankov a little later to sit down with the manager. 🙂
The Midwest menu there runs about $60 It covers their entire menu—well, except for the appetizers (like prosciutto, cheese, ham, etc.). Plus, your lunch the next day is included in the price... You get cakes, pastries, even the wedding cake up to a certain amount, plus the hall decorations (they'll give you a budget for the table settings and your head table). They also include beer, wine, bitters, soda, and I think some kind of brandy or similar local spirits (it's not like they serve Jägermeister, if you know what I mean)
I was actually there about two weeks ago, and they’ve enclosed that little covered "patio" area near the entrance with glass... and it looked like they were just installing lighting, because I'm pretty sure it wasn't there a few weeks back. They put those "orb" lights under that long glass wall... they were casting a green glow, though I assume the colors change...
So they raised the prices... great news for that new glass section! A dream for smokers! 😁 We should probably head over there soon, but depending on how things go with the price hike, we might just rent the space itself!
Of course... I've got my notebook ready, all the questions written down, and some blank lines for prices and everything 🙂 Thanks so much! Wishing you nothing but the best of luck with everything! 🙂
Ugh, please tell me some more terrible news about what they’re up to—but keep it on the down-low so I don't have to dwell on it. 😁 We haven't actually made any final decisions yet. Once we settle on a venue and sort out the stuff that comes after the reception—like the DJ and the photographer—then we'll make our move. We'll go check things out in person. Actually, no, we'll just head over there and ask all the right questions. 🙂 Yeah, we're looking at a guest list of maybe 450 people max, so that hall should be absolutely perfect.
It looks like they changed the rules this year since it was totally free last time! My best friend's maid of honor works out in the Midwest, so she sees all this stuff firsthand... that's why I'm telling you!
A guy I know just caught up with a colleague who had his wedding out in Laramie a couple of years back. It sounds like we’re getting closer to just renting the hall and bringing our own catering, then handling the rest ourselves. He said he saved about $1,500 doing it that way. Honestly, it’s not a bad deal—just cover the DJ and the photographer, and you're set.
That sounds awesome, thanks! We’re actually planning to swing by there this weekend or maybe next. Honestly, they’re way more affordable than anywhere else in Vegas. Island is a bit too much of a drive for us, and I’m not really feeling Renic—that whole vibe just isn't my thing. Laura is absolutely lovely, though, especially since they just finished the remodel. I was originally thinking about making our own cakes, but maybe we could work something out with them. I was at a wedding they catered once where everyone—aunts, cousins, the maid of honor—brought their own homemade treats. 😁 We’ll be bringing all our own veggies and pasta (my boyfriend's mom grows and makes everything herself), so if they can trim the price by $333, that would be huge. It’s basically the difference between being on budget or overspending, especially since I heard it's $0.67 per person, and we’re looking at about 450 guests.
As for dessert... I definitely wouldn't recommend Boss. Seriously, skip it! To me, their stuff is pretty bland, and honestly, the hygiene standards and how they treat their staff are just terrible. :-(
What’s the price look like, what exactly is included, and is there any room to negotiate? For instance, could we take them up on the drinks, meat, and small stuff like spices, while we handle the veggies, pasta, and cakes ourselves? Also, are chair covers included in that quote? What about lighting? I’ll probably give him a call in the next few days and then head over this weekend to chat in person, but I just wanted a rough idea beforehand. 🙂

From what I could tell, it’s about $17 per pound! There’s a bakery called Sage over at the Walmart on Facebook, so I just caught a quick glimpse of the price tag 😁
