Hey, I need a recommendation for a solid barber in Oakland who can handle fades really well.
Brandon Watson5 said:Hey, does anyone have any good dessert shop recommendations? Also, has anyone actually tried those treats from Castel Bakery?

We ordered from Ivanna at Castel Sweets. She is wonderful. We’ve heard their cakes and pastries are top-tier.🙂

granitefox19 said:Ann, regarding the craft supplies—down by the downtown area, near the mall and that local pizza joint—there’s a shop with some decorations, though I’m not entirely sure about their selection... so if you aren't in a massive rush, why not just order 👍

Does anyone have a recommendation for a musician to play at a house party to see off a wedding couple—and please, let's avoid anything involving an accordion or a traditional folk group?

Also, does anyone know where I can pick up some simple white gold wedding bands?
Thanks

We picked ours up at Dvornik on the Boardwalk. They really have some beautiful designs.
Thanks for the tip.

I'm looking for the same thing.🙂
Though I wouldn't recommend using eBay...

Andrew Taylor12 said:Honestly, I think there are way better makeup artists out there. She did my face once instead of šejl and I was just not feeling it. Maybe we just weren't a match. Personally, I can't stand heavy makeup. And don't even get me started on hairstylists—finding a good one is such a struggle.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into more options..
What I really need is someone who can do a perfect blowout.

Does anyone have thoughts on Anka Akrap makeup? Also, looking for a solid hair stylist recommendation.

Ladies, what are your experiences with wedding salons in the San Francisco area? I haven't started my bridal shopping yet, and the big day is already coming up in May.

I wasn't asking about young children. You don't need a certificate. I think she mentioned something about vouchers, but I can't say for certain.

Scott Jones said:I hate to be a pest, but could you let me know what exactly is covered in that $37 price tag? It’s right near my place, and honestly, I’ve been there for a few different events before—the food and service are always top-notch.

It includes Prsut, cheese, French salad, and fish pâté. For the main course, you get black and white risotto, beef stew, chicken with gorgonzola (both served with gnocchi), and lamb. Drinks are included, though I can't recall the exact selection. You'll need to bring your own cakes or desserts. I've heard the catering is excellent too. They are quite accommodating with everything. Even their decorations are customizable; you can pick whatever color you want.
Feel free to ask anything else.
Scott Jones said:How many people are actually going to show up for the party, or does the headcount not really affect the deposit?

We booked a small hall and expect about 80 guests. I don't believe the guest count impacts the deposit, but you should double-check. Just so you know, chairs are $37 each. 😊
Scott Jones said:I’ll jump in here too... does anyone happen to know how much a restaurant like Ini or an Uber driver usually asks for upfront as a deposit?

We put down a deposit for Ini, and we paid $667 the deposit..

How early should we start looking for a wedding venue? Our big day isn't until late May.
If anyone has recommendations for bridal boutiques in San Francisco or the surrounding area, please let me know. I'm specifically looking for a ball gown style.

Dear fellow forum members,

Could someone share their thoughts or advice regarding Group No. 1?
We are organizing a small birthday party and need a duo to perform. We’ve heard about this band, so I am curious if anyone here has actually seen them live?
What kind of sales floor plan would you recommend for an event with 100 guests?
neonfox32 said:Depends on the guest list. We just pulled the trigger on an August date 20 days ago and already have everything set.

We’re aiming for about 100 guests. However, none of us are actually in the States right now, so we won't be booking anything for another four months.
I'm glad you got it sorted 👍
Tell me, did you reserve the hall first?

Hi everyone,
My fiancé and I are thinking about scheduling our wedding for September or October of this year. What do you think—is it too late to start planning now?
