I really think this can work, provided that specific detail you’re targeting is actually red in the original shot! If that's the case, just head over to the filters menu and look for the region selection—you know, the "out of focus" setting—and you'll see a whole list of options on the left side. Go ahead and set it to grayscale, then move your cursor over to the part of the image that has that red tint. From there, you just need to adjust the size and feathering settings at the bottom to dial in exactly how much of that colored area you want to capture. I actually gave this a shot myself with a photo where I was wearing blue shoes, and it worked like a charm! By playing around with the luminance curve until the rest of the image turned black and white, I managed to keep just the shoes in full color. And here is the really cool part: if you click directly on "bright color"—and I mean the actual button, not just the little arrow next to it—you can slide the hue setting back and forth. Every tiny little nudge of that slider shifts the color of that specific detail, which is honestly such a fun way to play with the palette. Anyway, I hope that helps someone out a little bit!😁
