Michael Bennett said:honestly, that’s what threw me for a loop too... and now? just radio silence. nothing. poof. gone.🙄

I'm still here🙂
just buried under way too much work🙂

Michael Bennett, thanks for checking in.
Yeah, the apartment is in Washington, D.C. It was military housing, formerly owned by the US Army.
My parents had to head down to Arkansas because of an illness in the family. They ended up staying there for a few months.
The buyout agreement had actually been signed before they left, and negotiations to finalize everything were already underway when they had to go.

While they were away in Arkansas, the National Guard allegedly stepped in and took control of all those apartments to wrap things up. That's when my parents were told they no longer had any residency rights and that "there's nothing left to claim."😕

Honestly, I have no idea where to even begin. (A gentleman reached out privately and suggested I file an appeal directly with the United Nations or the European Union. I think that might be a bit overkill!)

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!
Hey everyone, hi!
My father was employed by the US Army, and through them, he was assigned a housing unit. However, during the war, they spent some time stationed in Appalachia, and because of that, his housing rights were revoked.
What can be done about this situation?!
How do we reclaim the right to the home where we lived for over 20 years? My parents actually signed a contract to buy out the property back in the early nineties, but they never got the chance to start the payments because of the war and the total collapse of the US Army.
Is it worth bringing in a lawyer?!
I honestly have no clue where to even begin.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
