Heh... so we're diving into the supposed boy-lovers of the ancient world now, are we? Are we really going to sit here and discuss Alexander the Great?
The discussion initially centered on homosexuality as a structural issue within the family unit, yet somehow, we’ve circled all the way back to those crude, reductive caricatures about what they do behind closed doors—it's always just been reduced to some vulgarity about sexual acts, hasn't it? I recall an episode this past summer where the topic was whether the US should embrace gay tourism; naturally, the panel was packed with a collection of self-important theologians and scripture scholars who, predictably, steered the entire discourse toward a strictly religious viewpoint. That said, I must tip my hat to Hloverka for her bluntness in openly labeling Dorin and his associates as queers; she effectively bridged that linguistic gap by stepping right over the polite euphemisms that people usually fight so tooth and nail over regarding certain profanities. I don't claim to have reached some grand epiphany here, but it seems to me that nothing significant ever truly takes root or gains traction overnight; rather, everything begins and ends with our own capacity—our actual willingness—to be tolerant and... well, open to new perspectives🙂
