Windows 8 issues? in IT Support ·
He just keeps hitting F8 with me—whereas F10 drops him right into the BIOS, which I don't even get.

So, I fired up my laptop today—it’s only been turned on maybe four times since I bought it last week.
And here we go. It says "Working on updates. 100% complete. Do not turn off your computer." It isn't some error message; looks like just another one of those Windows quirks. For what it's worth, I'm using an HP.
It’s been stuck like this for a good hour or two now. And honestly—even if I shut it down and restart, it just loops right back to this. That little spinning icon keeps going, but nothing actually happens. What am I supposed to do?

Just one more thing... What’s the deal with calories? How much do they actually matter when you're trying to drop weight?

Tyler Ross86 said:There’s no need to overthink this—hardly anyone bothers writing much about it since it's been covered countless times already. You just need to cut carbs to the absolute minimum because they drive fat storage; proteins are fine for muscle and won't cause weight gain like carbs do. For dinner, keep those carbs almost nonexistent—always swap them out for lean proteins like low-fat cheeses, fish, or chicken. There isn't some magical rule for post-workout nutrition for you either—stick mostly to protein then, too. You don't even need protein shakes. The main thing? Be stubborn and stay consistent until you see results. If you want actual meal ideas, check out the "Fitness Food Diary" thread, or look up nutritional info here:

Thanks a lot!

I don't have the patience to scroll through this entire thread from the beginning—so please, just answer a few direct questions. I’ll admit, I’m completely lost when it comes to all these fitness terms; there are so many products out there that I honestly have no clue what to use or when.
To give you some context: I weigh about 160 lbs and I'm 5'7". Starting tomorrow, I'm hitting the pavement for running and cardio sessions. What should I be eating or taking before and after morning runs? And what about dinner? Specifically, what’s the move regarding nutrition before and after aerobic workouts? When exactly are shakes supposed to be consumed? Also—is protein actually going to help me burn fat faster, or am I totally off base here? Is there such a thing as a supplement for fat burning plus energy?
The goal is simple: I want to drop weight and burn fat—not build muscle. I'm a 19-year-old woman. So, what's the deal with these shakes and proteins? I'm clueless...
Thanks in advance. I'd appreciate a detailed response if possible.
I’ve got a massive pile of Boise, ID and Canadian currency sitting here... if they were bills, I’d just hit up a local exchange office—but they won't touch coins. Where the hell am I supposed to trade these freaking coins?
