Regarding the venue options—Fabula, Robot and Hotel Chicago—I’m looking for recommendations...
I actually had my party at Robot. To be honest, I hated the location at first—I just couldn't get past where it was situated. But I was pleasantly surprised once I saw how they'd renovated the place. The food and the staff were incredible; honestly, everyone was raving about them.
I also loved having the choice between round or long tables. I went with round, obviously.👍

Has anyone here dealt with them before... I could really use some Microsoft on this one. 🤷
They actually played at a party I went to once. They were great—and I’m not just saying that. Other guests were saying the same thing, and apparently, a few people from the party even booked them for their own events on the spot. The dance floor was packed all night. They played a mix of American hits and international tracks, and the vibe was just spot on. Honestly, they deserve a lot of credit.
electriccanyon17 said:Well, I’m checking back in since nobody has said a word... It can't be possible that nobody here has heard them play at a wedding! :-(
Anyway, thanks to everyone who sent me private messages, but unfortunately, none of you actually caught them performing at a reception...
If you happen to know where they’re playing this weekend or next so I can go hear them myself, let me know. But honestly, I’d love to hear how they handle weddings—like, how long are their breaks? How do they sound? How do they manage the flow of the night, the cake cutting, and all that?
We're still debating between The Best and Major League Baseball...
I saw them at a wedding once and they were decent enough. My only gripe was that they totally killed the vibe—I'm not sure if it was the couple's choice or just their style, but they'd build up a great energy and then immediately drop into these slow songs. It basically sent half the guests straight to their seats to sit down.
Honestly, it was such a buzzkill.

Honestly, I had a blast there. Can confirm the whole experience was a solid 5 out of 5.
It’s been over a month since my big day, so I figured I’d drop a quick recap for you all:
Venue: Robot—absolutely phenomenal. The round tables looked great, the food was perfect and there was more than enough of everything... plus, the service was even better.
Music: 021—they created such an incredible vibe. The dance floor was packed the entire night. They played a mix of local hits and international tracks... seriously, hats off to them.
Photo: Color—honestly, I have mixed feelings. The actual photos turned out beautiful, but the DVD was a bit of a letdown. To make matters worse, the photographer was pretty overwhelming that day. It felt like she wouldn't leave my side for a second. When it was finally time for us to head out, she insisted on "one more quick photo session" that was supposed to take five minutes but ended up taking an hour. She felt a bit unprofessional.
Flowers: Jaglac Florist—the bouquet and the head table arrangement were beautifully done.
The car and decor were handled by a decorator I worked with (I used her for invitations and thank-you notes too). She did an amazing job, and her prices were very reasonable. I’d recommend her to anyone.
Hair and Makeup: Vivjen-fenomenen—simply phenomenal. She totally exceeded my expectations.
Dress: Helen, Brnaze-vešta—the dress itself was fine, but they really nickel and dime you. We had agreed on a price for it being a first-wear gown, but then some other girls tried it on before me, and suddenly they claimed they never said the price would drop unless several people wore it first. Whatever.
Cake: Viadel-jedrenjak
Church: St. Dominic—everything was set up perfectly. The priest was wonderful, and their youth choir was even better. It was truly special.
So... even though things didn't go exactly according to plan, everyone ended up having a great time. Most importantly, we were both incredibly happy.
Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice along the way.

Have you tried calling Barbara!? They played at a party I went to recently and they were awesome...
The band from LA plays for me... I've also heard the Uber band is pretty good
Jack Miller4 said:I’m still feeling a bit undecided about where I should go for my hair 😢. Does anyone happen to know of a reliable salon nearby that offers a full package, like hair and makeup all in one place?
I actually took her to a salon in Beverly Hills once... she looked incredible. Her sister does the makeup right there too. Honestly, she looked phenomenal.
So I ended up booking an appointment with them myself. They have a website here:

James Kelly82 said:How do they even manage running multiple weddings at once over there? I’ve heard stories about two receptions happening at the exact same time, where you could actually hear the music bleeding from one ballroom right into the next.
Anyway, I’ve never actually been to a wedding in that area myself...
Personally, I had my wedding in the medium-sized ballroom—not the massive one. There was another wedding happening in the grand hall at the same time, but I didn't hear a thing. Everything was honestly great.😍
Don't sweat it.
velvetseal612 said:God girl, I really need some advice... my godmother is getting married next year and she’s currently torn between a few different venues. Has anyone here actually held their wedding reception at the Grand Hyatt? She's specifically curious about the quality of the food and how the staff treats their guests—has anyone had any personal experiences there? Any insight would be great, thank you!
Personally, I thought the Grand Hyatt was a disaster. That whole vibe feels like something out of a twenty-year-old's fantasy, and the food was just... mediocre.🤷

Now I just need the contact info for all the other photographers... please, ladies 😍
EDIT: I found most of them... thanks to your suggestions and the absolute chaos of the group chat 😉
I'm starting to look for venue numbers that can accommodate about 150-170 people now...
So if you have any recommendations—shoot me a DM with the numbers 👋
Hmm... I don't have the contact info on hand, but check online for Studio In, Photo California, or Photo Color...
As for venues, the last two weddings I went to were in a suburb outside of San Diego, at Phoenix and Lesnines, and they were great... both weddings had around 200 guests...
David King72 said:Look, if you already have a date in mind, why wait around? Just go down there and find out if they're even available. And honestly, if you're actually planning on hosting that many people, wouldn't a venue like Bolero right in the city work just as well?
Last year, I was looking at either Dolis or Phoenix... and by October, everything was booked solid through the start of November. So yeah, what are you even waiting for?
Jesse Lopez90 said:Thanks, thanks! 😉
I didn't want to mess with my look too much. I went to my usual stylist in California—Zack’s salon, and his stylist is Senia—and then a makeup artist. I think she works at Sephora, or maybe Ulta, somewhere on Stephens Street; her salon is called Dorothy, and she handled the makeup. It feels a bit ridiculous to be bragging about myself like this, but honestly, they were fantastic. They know exactly what they're doing. We had everything coordinated perfectly, I was thrilled, and the compliments from the guests were all the validation I needed. 😁
thanks for the info😉
I'm just glad you were happy with everything... at the end of the day, that's what matters most.
Let me know how the photos and the DVD turned out. I actually used Photo Color myself, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts. 🙂

I booked a room at Fable, upstairs on the right side. Honestly, I'm just thrilled you were happy with everything. 😍 My only lingering thought was about those three rooms downstairs—did you run into any issues there? How's the soundproofing? Does the music bleed through?
Cosmicfox16!
I’m glad you brought that up. I knew I had forgotten to mention something! 😉
We were in one of the ground-floor rooms, and there was another wedding happening directly above us. Not a single sound. Absolutely nothing came through from the floor above. You honestly feel like you have the whole place to yourself. The insulation is top-notch. Trust me, don't give the noise a second thought. The room is perfect. 👍
First off, congrats!😍
But now for the real questions... who did your makeup and hair? How did you feel about the results?🙏
Just wanted to share... I had such a blast at the wedding this past Saturday. It was held over at Phoenix in Dugopolj, and there were about 200 of us there. They were serving up Barbary drinks, and honestly, they set the mood perfectly—we were on our feet from 8 PM all the way until 4 AM.
The food was incredible too. My only gripe was that the room got pretty stuffy; it was roasting in there because they wouldn't turn on the AC to avoid anyone complaining. Other than that, everything was a solid 5+.
BTW, the guys from Studio In were doing the photography, and from what I've seen, the shots look amazing. That's it!
Hey, I’ve got a bit of a situation. I have a wedding coming up next Saturday, and I really want to test out a hairstyle at her reception before my own big day. Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a hair stylist? I’m honestly drawing a blank here...
Anonymous said:Alright, Karen Cruz2, I see you're jumping over to Trio Adria?
What's the deal with them—why are they so good? Where can I actually go to listen to their stuff?
Raymond Brooks7 🙂
I haven't checked them out yet... but everyone's been raving about them... so...
Not sure where to find them online, though. If I track down a link, I'll let you know!
QUOTE=kontra;20625120]let's keep moving...
🙂
looks like we've cleared the "exchange rate" hurdle, so now we're on the hunt for a band...
where can I actually go listen to Trio Adria? 🙂
🙂
for 🙂 Adria 🤷
Anonymous said:haha, my family basically held a meeting and decided that if we can pull it off, it’d be better if my best man goes to the course with me instead 🙄
Do I need to show this to anyone in management? Or could this actually fly? 😕
So how did it go!?!??! What happened????
By the way, they didn't ask us for anything.
Anonymous said:You know what? I’m officially done stressing... When he finally shows up in July or August, then we can deal with it. Until then, I am absolutely not booking anything or even thinking about the wedding. Honestly, it's better this way—less anxiety for me now, and whatever happens, happens later. I’ve been nagging him all week long, begging and pleading, and all I get is "not today," "we'll figure it out," "let's do it Friday," or "Monday is fine." I finally managed to drag him there today, only for him to show up late.
Now he’s heading out on a cruise this Thursday, so when he gets back, he can come up with a plan for how to handle everything... In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and enjoy these last two days of peace. 🙄
Thanks so much to everyone for all the info and advice you shared with me today 😘
Oh, come on....
What if he coincidentally drags him in front of St. Peter tonight?😉
And knowing how people from the coast are, they aren't exactly eager to help—they're all about that "we'll get to it" attitude...
At least that's how it works for me... and it really 😠
