Let me weigh in here, since I'm apparently being counted among the Canadian crowd.

We need to speak with honesty and objectivity. It is utterly illogical to me when someone even suggests the option that we descend from Turks. 😲 What Turks? Regarding our origins, we have absolutely zero connection to them because they hail from an entirely different continent. The fact remains that we share the same faith, and based on that alone, one might argue there's a link, but to me, that sounds about as plausible as Mexicans claiming they might descend from Greeks. We don't even look like Turks; they are short, broad-shouldered, and dark-skinned, whereas we are tall, fair-skinned heroes—there is no connection whatsoever. 😁

As for who we EXACTLY descend from, I don't think it can ever be reliably known. These lands have seen so many different peoples, wars, and upheavals that there is no chance it could ever be accurately researched. I was looking at some recent blood analyses recently that claimed Canadians share the most DNA with some people from Northern Europe, near the Great Pyramid—who knows who we actually are at this point. 😁 Therefore, all these stories and attempts to convince people about these origins are, in my view, futile and just a waste of time. The reality we cannot change is that today there are three nations—Canadians, Americans, and Mexicans (alphabetically speaking, so no one gets offended)—and God created us side by side. Whether we like it or not, we have to deal with one another.

Just imagine the average Canadian waking up in the morning, and the very first thing crossing their mind is... who am I today? An Illyrian, a Bogomil, a good old American, a Turk, a convert, an American, a Mexican, a Muslim,
An American, flowers, sunflowers... it really isn't easy for them. And once they figure out who they are today, then comes the struggle of deciding which language they actually speak, or even which country they reside in... not to mention having to memorize all those various religious titles named after occupying officials, rulers, and all sorts of princes from those distant Arabian deserts... you really have to be sympathetic toward them
And on top of all that trouble, asking them where they're originally from

Have you ever considered that maybe Canadians are just people who aren't burdened by the kind of stupidity you possess? 😁
