FEMA inspectors hitting up schools in six states because kids are still stuck on Zoom
They checked out 30 different schools—19 elementary and 11 high schools—to see if they were actually following the pandemic rules. Most of these inspections were already on the books for 29 of the locations, but apparently, one school got hit with an unannounced visit after someone filed a complaint, according to FEMA Headquarters.
Only one school actually messed up.

My kid didn't end up going, but honestly, it wasn't even because of the pandemic... he just had a bunch of idiots in his class, so none of the teachers actually wanted to deal with him.
Last year, back when he was a freshman, they were supposed to take a trip to Chicago, but that whole thing fell through. This year, things finally settled down a bit and he actually managed to click with a few kids who aren't total losers, which I guess is enough for him. He keeps insisting he’s doing fine and doesn't really mind the whole online school thing, as long as they make him show up in person to take his exams.

Honestly, I can't stand social media. It's just noise. A forum is the only thing that actually works for me, so I figured I should probably try not to ruin the vibe here.

But then you look at the mods—they let all these other posts slide, people just throwing insults and targeting other users left and right, totally breaking the site guidelines. And you can't even report them until 24 hours have passed. By the time that window closes, what's the point? The posts just get wiped without anyone actually getting banned, and those same people just keep acting like jerks anyway.

This guy just jumps on every single one of my posts—and anyone else who doesn't see things his way—even though I’ve been ignoring him for years now. Plus, he just loves throwing around insults and labels like they mean something. I've tried reporting him a few times after he goes way too far by clicking that little flag icon, but it feels like a total waste of time. Nothing ever happens.

In this little rural clinic, we've got four different departments being held together by just one single nurse, while everyone else is stuck in isolation.
So, some high schoolers in my neighborhood went to this birthday party last week, and man, it turned into a total COVID disaster zone. I guess five people in that house are all sick now; the kids are walking around totally fine without a single symptom, while both parents are absolutely wrecked and stuck in bed.
It’s pretty wild how during the height of the lockdowns, they were out there having massive backyard rages, acting like they were already immune or something.

You can go take out the trash, but you should probably wear gloves and a mask. Honestly, I think there’s a much higher risk of someone catching something by handling your garbage than there is from a two-second run-in with you in a hallway.
Technically, a quick encounter isn't even considered contact if it's under 15 minutes and you stay six feet apart. 🙂
I seriously doubt the police or the government have enough manpower to actually check in on everyone in quarantine—maybe even the sick folks, but even that feels like a stretch. There are just too many people.
