brightpilot6 said:But that’s a pretty bold assertion you've made there. I assume you're basing that on something substantial, aren't you?

Look, if we’re using actual common sense here, a responsible person can absolutely deny you entry. Just because the whole concept makes some people feel like it's an open door for everyone doesn't mean they aren't mistaken. It really all comes down to the Pope's good will. Seriously, try showing up with a camera and you'll quickly realize this isn't exactly some public park.

Look, I'm definitely not a lawyer, so you should probably run this by them—or maybe even a whole team of them. You've got everything from trespassing on private property without permission all the way up the ladder to deal with.

Anthony Jackson2 said:So, one day the Church is a protected cultural asset and a matter of national interest—then suddenly it’s just private property where journalists aren't allowed to step foot without an invitation. Typical. 🐔

Some people here would actually make decent politicians—though around here, laws and rules seem to change whenever it suits someone's schedule. ☕

Seriously, do you actually not grasp how something can be both a cultural treasure and private property, or are you just playing dumb?
Doesn't matter; honestly, props to the journalist for calling out the priest's hypocrisy right to his face, regardless of whether she technically broke the law. Everyone else plays by the rules while he's out there acting like a total clown.

So that's the deal, I guess we're finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel 👋

It honestly looks like the Germans have been keeping an eye on Reddit and my old posts, yawn, it really is nice being a visionary sometimes. ☕

☕☕
☕

They’ve actually started the media blitz for that new agency tasked with issuing permits. About time, honestly. 🙏

Well... then the Pope runs into Jason from Friday the 13th, and he tells him: "Your mask doesn't mean a thing if you just keep charging straight at people." 😂

I was responding to Elizabeth Mendoza's comment about people finally heading outside...
Maybe try scrolling up just a little bit...

Yeah, fair enough, I got a little carried away there. 🙂

Amanda Evans2 said:Who on earth is actually talking about violating isolation or spreading the virus here?
The way people are equating someone just walking down the street—someone who isn't under any restrictions at all—with an infected person causing panic and being unnecessarily obnoxious is ridiculous.
We aren't under a full lockdown; the freedom to move around your own city is still perfectly legal as long as you haven't been ordered into self-isolation.
It honestly irritates me every single time someone tries to question something so fundamental.
It's just so much
...

Look, I took a stroll around the block about an hour ago and nobody tried to stop me; I saw at least a hundred people out and about, and everyone was keeping their distance. I really don't know who you're picking a fight with.

Amanda Evans2 said:I know exactly what we're talking about here, and I certainly understand the concept of social distancing.
What bothers me is the senseless attacking of people who simply want to go outside for some fresh air.
I was out in the city twice today and didn't see any massive crowds. I saw individuals out for a walk, which is infinitely healthier than standing in a cramped line at a Target.
But in this so-called "state of emergency" that politicians love to scream about, some people would love nothing more than to strip away every single freedom we have...
Even the basic right to move around freely, which is already being restricted as it is.

The constant shaming of people just for being outdoors is ridiculous.
I know people who haven't stepped foot outside in fourteen days. Not because they're trying to prevent transmission, but because they are absolutely terrified for their own skin after seeing the filth piling up everywhere.
Driven by pure fear, people like that would happily embrace mandatory vaccinations and authoritarian tactics reminiscent of a dictator. Don't be naive; they aren't doing it for the greater good...

Honestly, I’d take those shut-ins over the people organizing the Crown party any day. At least the fearful ones aren't actively endangering everyone else just to soothe their own anxiety.

I mean, please, go ahead and act like entitled teenagers—"Oh no, you're taking away my freedom!" or "It's an emergency, you're hurting others by being out!" Floods, earthquakes, pandemics... it's all the same drama.
That whole idea about using cell phones for tracking is dangerous, and it's staying right where it is.

Wow, Americans would absolutely lynch anyone who breaks isolation or starts echoing Putin's rhetoric. Don't even try to tell me it's different here. They'll be calling for things like Key West, Jonestown, or police brutality against sports fans and protesters.

Or they'll just lynch anyone who dares to have a different opinion, which is a total novelty. I still remember how everyone harassed Allyson Felix for years because of her stance; they even went after her Nike sponsorship by filing lawsuits.

Seriously, at least 70% of this country is just completely intolerant of anything they don't agree with—selfish, arrogant, the whole nine yards.

Amanda Evans2 said:They went on absolute shopping sprees. It got to the point where major retailers had to start rationing certain goods just to keep the shelves from going bare.
It’s a perfect reflection of our national character.

I mean, honestly, are we really at a point where someone has to tell you to wash your hands, eat decent food, or stop breathing down everyone's neck during flu season?

You see people walking around in those flimsy N95 masks that don't protect anyone, wearing rubber gloves, and trying to maintain a ten-foot radius from one another.
We’ve turned into a society that demonizes its own neighbors while living in these twisted, delusional bubbles.

Look, I get it—war and economic crises tend to drag the absolute worst out of humanity, but you’d think every ten years we might actually remember how selfish and hypocritical we all truly are.

#stayhome

It’s the worst, sure, but maybe also the best. I wouldn't go so far as to call the whole quarantine thing pure selfishness, though breaking isolation and spreading the virus around? Yeah, that's definitely selfishness—even by the standards of someone living in a total fever dream.

Laura Chavez93 said:It isn’t just that the gear is useless; if you aren't wearing it, people look at you like you're some kind of biohazard intentionally trying to spread the virus...🙂

Give me a break, man, nobody is staring at you just because you aren't wearing a mask. The real issue here is whether there are even any masks left on the shelves to buy.

Amanda Evans2 said:At this rate, we might as well just bury ourselves under our blankets at home and stay shut in for two months straight.
Everyone needs to pull themselves together...
Even medical professionals are stating that being outdoors is healthy, yet here we are with people who think they should only be allowed on a balcony.

The sheer level of panic that has gripped everyone—this idea that you have to fear leaving your own little shell just to survive—is still frankly staggering to me.
I truly hope this never becomes a permanent way of life where you end up living like Gregor Samsa.

Some people simply refuse to accept this miserable, hiding-away lifestyle just to avoid a virus. If you're that terrified, then by all means, lock yourselves away. No one is going to come barging into your little rooms...

Alright, but the whole point isn't just about protecting yourself—it's about not being the one spreading it to everyone else. It feels like half the people in this thread completely miss that distinction.
Personally, I’m probably part of the high-risk crowd, so every winter is basically a high-stakes survival game for me because I have to dodge the flu while everyone else acts like common sense is optional.

Anyway, my plan is pretty simple: get some fresh air, hang out with fewer people, and try to avoid crowded spots like Central Park or large social gatherings.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
I mean, honestly, everyone needs to get out and stretch their legs once in a while. It’s good to catch up with people you actually know, too—not quite like those chaotic crowds you'd run into at Central Park where everyone is shoulder-to-shoulder, but just enough to clear your head and get some fresh air.
Let's be real: responsible people don't need a government mandate telling them how to act. And unfortunately, for certain other types of people, even throwing them in prison isn't going to fix the problem.

Honestly, I’m kind of surprised she managed to walk away without taking him herself.

I have to hand it to her; the woman showed some serious responsibility. As for those people who refused to help the kid, I honestly just feel nothing but pure contempt for them.

So, this guy from my neighborhood just got back from Germany, and since his wife was running a fever, he decided to head down to the local Walmart, where he ended up getting into a massive blowout with the staff. 🙏
Then, they actually shut the whole store down. 😁

Ever. Or actually carry any kind of weight for once.

Oh please, remind us about those men in dresses again just when we were finally starting to forget they existed.
NYC, you anti-church types are more obsessed with them than people are with the Capitol, or Jewish interests, or even Pernar or Vitamin C.

Ashley Bailey6 said:Buying out one company isn't the issue. Buying out thousands is.

Think about the sheer amount of effort, wasted time, paperwork, and red tape required to swallow up thousands of businesses.

That's the other problem. Everyone wants to be their own boss now, and large corporations are finding it harder and harder to find workers.

Honestly, they don't even need to bother. The government tends to kill off the little guys all by itself just through sheer regulation. It's a pattern: the more suffocating the rules and the harder it is to actually run a business, the more it benefits the massive corporations while crushing the small players.
In America, it's always worked this way, so the big corps don't even have to lift a finger. The state basically does the dirty work for them, indirectly.

Ashley Bailey6 said:Probably just regular citizens.

More young people are starting businesses, which forces large corporations to decentralize.
Money is being spread out more, and the people in power don't want that—not in any country.

Now they have excuses to stop providing incentives for new small businesses for who knows how long.

But no matter what I write, you're going to mock me.

Enjoy staying home.

It's a decent theory, but I’m going to have to disagree. Sure, corporations have their own agendas, but this isn't some Hollywood thriller. The giants dominate specific industries; there's no way some local entrepreneur is actually threatening their bottom line. And even if they were, they'd just buy them out in a heartbeat.

The real issue here is that because of the COVID-19 fallout, there's just no money left in the budget. Well, unless you're a government bureaucrat looking for a paycheck, but that’s nothing we haven't seen before.

Could you please walk me through this? I have a feeling I’m in for a long read. Who exactly are these "reckless individuals" and who are the "ultra-wealthy," and how exactly are they losing their monopoly, how does that loss manifest, and what is their ultimate endgame here? 🙂

Well, they absolutely should be. It finally clicked for me yesterday that not everyone is stuck in hospitals; it’s probably just the ones whose condition takes a turn for the worse.

restlesssurfer97 said:Wait a second, if people are testing positive while they're already in self-isolation, then what was even the point? Why were those twins stuck in quarantine in the first place? 🤔

Look, there are only 39 people in the hospital right now—at least that’s what was reported yesterday, though maybe that number bumped up today. Those are the critical ones, you know, the folks who are actually struggling. As for the twins, they were the first ones through the door, so... 😁
