Has anyone actually tried those pastries from Elon Musk's place over in Columbus? I’m curious about the flavor profiles. What are their cakes like—specifically their wedding cakes? I'd love to know if they're worth it, and if anyone happens to have an idea about the pricing structure!

Ethan Chase75 said:Check eBay. 🙂 I found a ton of stuff, and honestly, buying everything there is way cheaper than trying to rent it here. 😁 You can always flip them once everything settles down; purple is pretty high in demand, so you'll be fine.

Can anyone drop a link??

Ryan Rivera4 said:A local shop in Savannah rents out chair covers. I used them because I was dead set on those purple ones at Zelenkrov, and they do decor too. You can reach out to Ms. Suza; her info is right there on the site www.pozivnice.org. I paid $2.25/piece.

Thanks for the heads-up!!! I actually took a look at those covers already, but I don't know... I'm not really feeling them. I had a slightly different vision for how I wanted the setup to look—something more substantial, maybe using tulle or something similar. I might try to work something out with Helen to see if I can rent just the plain covers from her, and then I could probably just make my own decorative overlays. At least, that’s the plan if I can actually get her to agree to it!!! 🤷

Rebecca Gray4 said:Has anyone here actually worked with Victoria Makeup—she’s the one on Facebook?
I was thinking about reaching out to her for some services, but I wanted to see if anyone had any firsthand experience first. Has anyone heard anything—good, bad, or even just a heads-up—about her work?
Thanks so much!🙂

I haven't personally used her services, but I've heard nothing but glowing reviews. I actually reached out to her myself, and we're setting up a trial makeup session right after Easter. I'll be sure to circle back to this thread and let you all know how it went!! 🙂

Ethan Chase75 said:Do you happen to know if I can just hire their servers and drinks without the trays? My boyfriend is handling the food since I'm hosting at my apartment, so it doesn't make sense to bring in extra hands when it's already going to be crowded 😉 and we have our own trays because he keeps everything at home specifically for occasions like this, so we won't need theirs..

I guess you could try heading over there to talk to them and see if they'll work with you. As for having everything ready at home, maybe you could just bring your own meat and let them handle the garnishing? Though, honestly, it might be smarter to just pick up the beer in Bielic or somewhere similar like that!

Jack Lee5 said:I'm actually thinking about using Bulgarian for the catering too. Could you give me a rough idea of what your total cost ended up being and how many people you were feeding? Also, what exactly is included in the package?

Well, here's how I handled it... You usually get three different tiers to choose from. The budget option was $25 per person. That covers things like Midwest-style meat platters, various fresh salads, pasta salads, bread, cheese and ham pastries, fruit, full cutlery service, high-top cocktail tables, buffet and bar tables, plus all the setup and arrangement. In my experience, they tend to overcater quite a bit, so if you have 100 guests, I guess you could probably just book for 70! Then there’s the second tier, which is everything in the first one but adds in some canapé sandwiches, and that runs $28 per head. Finally, the third option includes everything from the first tier plus hot entrees ($32). Anyway, I hope that helps a little!

rapiddrifter7 said:Oh, I get what you mean, but I was actually thinking more along the lines of professional waiters—you know, the kind who wear those crisp uniforms and white gloves! I’m just not sure where on earth I’d find anyone like that. 🤷 I wonder if I could even swing by a local culinary school and see if any students might be interested? 🤷 I'm honestly drawing a blank here...

Maybe try reaching out to Bulgarian Catering; we’re using them for our event and they’ll be providing the staff, but apparently, if we want more servers than what's included in their base package, there’s an extra fee. So, it might actually be worth looking into just hiring servers separately, regardless of whether you go with their catering service or not!

Jack Lee5 said:Personally, I think Victoria is fantastic—you can find her work under "Victoria Makeup" on Facebook—and I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews for Dragana over at Studio Chic; she handles both hair and makeup brilliantly.

By the way, where exactly is that studio located? Do they have a website or a Facebook page I could look up?

Jack Lee5 said:Thanks for the lead on the number... I gave them a call and they have an opening on my date, though they're already starting to take bookings for next year🙂

Oh man, I don't envy you... I am seriously struggling with all this makeup stuff right now!!! Does anyone have any recommendations? Please, I'm begging you!!! Hair ideas would be great too.

Ethan Chase75 said:Hey everyone, I’m new here. :-) Basically, does anyone know where I can rent decorative chair bows and table runners? We decided on Microsoft, but they only carry yellow, burgundy, and white options, and none of those three combinations really do it for me. I was picturing purple instead.

I'm running into the exact same issue... using Microsoft too, and I'm also hoping for purple, though I'm not sure if they'll even let us bring our own covers. I was thinking about giving them a call sometime this week to ask!

So, I gave Jane a call earlier today... turns out she's completely booked up through September and October!!! I feel terrible about it! I guess, does anyone happen to know anyone else who does makeup for cats?

I actually need this by October... please, if you could just shoot me a contact number via PM, I'd appreciate it.

Paul Garcia20 said:If anyone happens to be hunting for a makeup artist in the Indianapolis area, I really can't recommend John Marjanović enough. I booked her for a wedding recently and honestly, I was blown away—and so were all the guests who saw me. In fact, a friend of mine just booked her for her own wedding, so there'll be six of us getting our faces done on May 7th!
$50She works with high-end brands like Mac, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Dior, which is a huge plus, though I suppose part of the reason people flock to her is that she’s working from home while her little one is still quite small.
My makeup stayed absolutely flawless from about 11 in the morning all the way until I finally crawled into bed at 4 in the morning—it didn't budge. The only thing I had to touch up was my lipstick, mostly because of all the eating and drinking throughout the night. 😬 And seriously, the foundation didn't melt off at all; even though I was sweating quite a bit and kept dabbing at my face with tissues, everything stayed perfectly in place.
I'll send you her contact info via private message, since I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to post phone numbers here. 😉

Could you please send me the number too? Thanks so much...😉

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a makeup artist and a hairstylist. Honestly, I have no idea where to even start my search... does anyone know someone who actually delivers? I’m particularly on the hunt for a talented hairstylist, mainly because the lady I usually go to just can't seem to pull off wedding styles at all.
thanks

They are located right over in the Suburban Neighborhood.
I have personally ordered everything from individual pastries to full cakes and even wedding tiers from them, and they truly are stunning; besides, every single guest I've ever had has raved about how delicious they taste. 😉

Thanks for the tip, I guess I'll look around a bit more—hopefully something turns up!!! I heard about this guy who makes cakes; he’s actually a chef over at the Hilton in Chicago, but baking is just his hobby. I think his name is Robert and he lives somewhere down South, so I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard anything about him!!!

Does anyone happen to know a baker who makes truly, exceptionally stunning wedding cakes? I was originally thinking about picking up some pastries from a place in a Small Town, USA, but I have to admit, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the look of their wedding cakes. I suppose I'm looking for someone who is a genuine wizard when it comes to cake design. Thanks!

And honestly, I don't even regret spending the money. 😍

Has any of you ladies been down to New Orleans lately looking for wedding dresses? I’ve heard a massive wave of brides heading that way recently, so I’m curious to hear if any of you have actually been and what your experience was like. Maybe you have some insights if you've made the trip.
thanks

Betty Booth2 said:Hmm. If I recall correctly, Studio 69 is actually based out of Indianapolis.

One guy is from Indianapolis and the other is from Warsaw, though their headquarters are technically in Warsaw. That part confused me at first too, I guess.🙂

Robert Moore86 said:Kayla, you got the dates wrong. Jan 16th is a Sunday. The fair actually kicks off on Friday the 14th and runs through the 16th... you can find the full schedule over at Chicago

Yeah, yeah, I definitely got my wires crossed there...
I mean, that’s what I thought too, I just managed to scramble the dates... 🤣
