I ended up booking a hall in a small town near Pittsburgh—it's called the Patricia Wedding Hall. Some people call it "The Tin Shed" because of the roofing, but honestly, the inside is gorgeous and really spacious. I’m hosting 180 guests and the pricing is actually great. I think their base menu starts around $25 per person, though that obviously changes depending on what extras you add... definitely worth checking out though. They include table decor and flowers for every table except the head table, plus the wedding cake and desserts are all covered. Even all the drinks and alcohol, and even the chair covers... definitely give them a call.
Hey, does anyone know how much organza usually goes for? Specifically looking for the average price of a 10m bolt. The venue is offering to source a 10m roll for me for $12, but I have zero clue what the going rate is... so I can't tell if that's actually a good deal or just standard pricing everywhere else...
She even walked me through the warehouse, but she charged me for the ribbon $5.00 It was the color I wanted, though. She didn't have that wide, mesh-style ribbon in my shade, and those foam leaves were just terrible. In the end, I grabbed some silk leaves because they actually looked decent, but I'm only using them for bracelets. For lapel pins, I need smaller pieces, and like I said, the foam ones weren't it. No green leaves, no frost-like accents for the lapels... I don't know, they just didn't have what I needed. Plus, those leaves at Hobby Lobby are $1.75 12 per pack, while hers are $1.25 so I'm not sure how much I'm really saving here. Those silk ones I picked up came in a pack of 80 $18.
Hey everyone. I’ve been counting down the days until I could finally wrap up work and head over to Harkanj to grab supplies for my lapel pins. I was expecting a goldmine—everyone keeps raving about how much they have in stock and how cheap it all is... but honestly? I just left feeling totally bummed out. The prices are basically the same as what we pay back home, and the quality is absolute garbage. Not much selection either. My mom and grandma went along for the ride, so at least their trip wasn't a total waste, but I specifically went there for one thing 😢
Angela Gomez4, thanks for reaching out. I checked with Mark Nguyen11 too, and they said it's only available in white. That's why I'm asking here for help... if I knew where to find it, I wouldn't be bothering you guys!
The bouquet toss usually happens once everyone’s lined up—right in the middle of the bride and groom’s dance. While the single girls are waiting, she just swings it mid-dance and tosses it. Then the newlyweds bolt out of the hall while the single guys wait by the exit to pelt the groom with plastic bottles. At that exact moment, the best man throws a plate that was covering a basket of cash, symbolizing that the money should keep flowing instead of staying covered up under a lid... anyway, we always do that. It was actually pretty fun when I was the maid of honor and got to smash a plate myself, haha...
We're planning to do our photos separately while everyone else is partying. People will just pop in for a quick shot and get right back to the dance floor. We want things to move fast so the party never stops...
What’s so stupid about that? You ask them for a number at least, so they can reach out to her and pass along your info... At that trade show in New York City, there was a booth featuring those wedding dresses from San Vol, similar to our Midwest folk wear... maybe they could give you more details if anyone remembers the name of the stand.
urbanviper80 said:My guest list is hovering around 800 people... yet that base package starts at 4,500. So, we're talking about a total blackout. Around 350 to 400 photos compiled into an album. Starting things off today with a little trip down memory lane—here’s a photo from back when I was just a kid. A little glimpse into what some call a "love story." The wedding playlist mix. An increase of 20x30. A six-row accordion. Three DVD sets (ranging from 2 to 4 discs each).
The thank-you notes are from the 5th.$2.25It really depends on the format you choose.
We stopped by his place since he runs his own business, and he actually hosts newcomers at his home by appointment. He’s even set up one entire room specifically in that style. I was really impressed by everything we saw—he does large-scale canvas work too, though I haven't finalized the details on those specific pieces yet.
The total won't be much higher, really. The main difference is that I’ll have a slightly larger dance with the bride and more photos with my relatives. Honestly, I can't quite remember if I mentioned earlier that you get all the photos on a DVD, including both the originals and the edited versions...
The Ledger is absolutely perfect, but there’s a bit of a catch with the price tag... I haven't quite made up my mind yet whether it's worth the splurge. I'll have to convince my partner that it's a must-have for us!
Sorry for jumping in, but wouldn't it be better to skip that first dance? Especially with 800 guests? We'll only have 180, so we won't really have that moment. Even though we're both from the Midwest and that's the tradition, I feel like it "kills" the vibe because while that's happening, the other guests aren't having fun. Better to just move some chairs aside so the couple can sit down nicely, and then everyone else keeps dancing with the band and comes over to take photos later...
We've got a band called Strong playing here in Slavonski Brod. They aren't too pricey, and they're actually great... If you want their number, just shoot me a DM.
A quick suggestion for all my Midwest girls: I hit up a trade show today (it wasn't even a tenth as big as the ones in NYC!) and ended up with a mountain of flyers and discount brochures. Since I've already sorted most of my stuff, this is basically junk to me... but if any of you could actually use them, let me know. If there's anyone from Indianapolis here, shoot me a DM and I'll bring them by... or if enough of you are around, we could just grab coffee and you can grab whatever you need. There are discounts on wedding dresses and $333 plus stuff for videographers and things like that... let me know by tomorrow, otherwise I'm just tossing it all and coming home empty-handed 🙂
At Verizon they’re looking for $33, so I might check out Colony Apartments instead. If I grab enough rooms for about 20 people, then it’s $17... anyone been there lately who can tell me if it's actually clean and decent?
Are you guys planning on handing out pre-packaged cookies to guests as they leave? We usually give out thank-you notes and chocolates, but we were thinking about adding cookies too. Now the other women at my job are telling me it’s just an unnecessary expense, especially since the wedding is in July. What do you think? How are you all handling this for your weddings?
