Dual-channel memory setup in Desktops ·
Thanks for the input and the tip on the cheaper option; I'll definitely grab it while I'm in the States. Might as well take advantage of having someone to bring it back for me...
Dual-channel memory setup in Desktops ·
hey,

thinking about picking up another matching 8GB stick, but I’ve got zero clue if dual-channel will actually kick in or if it's even worth the hassle. it's only like $45...

here's what I'm running:
DDR4 8GB (1x8) G.Skill 3000MHz AEGIS, F4-3000C16S-8GISB

Alright, thanks. I'll make a call this afternoon—the price is pretty much the same anyway..

I'm a bit lost on the whole IPS vs. MVA thing, though. Any advice on which one would pair better with my build? Would appreciate it.

Hey,

Looking for some monitor advice. I don't plan on upgrading again anytime soon, but I'm trying not to blow too much cash since I’m saving up for a car over the next few months—aiming for maybe $3k, though if there's a killer monitor that's slightly more expensive, I might bite. Probably pulling the trigger this Tuesday.

Mainly just play single-player stuff, mostly big AAA titles, and the occasional online match here and there... nothing crazy.

Thanks!

Here's my current rig:

ASUS Prime B350-Plus motherboard, AM4 socket
AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 3.40GHz, 16MB Cache, AM4 socket YD2600BBAFBOX

Fortron CMT110 case, black
Fortron 550W Hexa 85+ PSU, ATX 2.4
8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000U 3000MHz CL16 G.Skill Aegis, F4-3000C16S-8GISB
Gigabyte GTX1070Ti 8 g gaming, 8GB GDDR5, 256-bit, 1683/2000MHz, GV-N107TGAMING-8GD

Budget PC build under $400? in Desktops ·
Is there any way to do about 6 to 12 installments online with my Visa?
Since I’m not sure what kind of financing options stores in Chicago offer, if I can't handle it online, we've got Best Buy and Micro Center right here in the city.

hey,

I'm looking for a PC for a buddy with a budget of $1333, ideally something we can pay off in installments with shipping included.

He just wants to play WoW, Rocket League, and World of Tanks—nothing crazy, just something that won't choke when he actually tries to run them.

You guys are the best, thanks!

The rig finally arrived. Took them forever, but here we are...

I know this isn't really the right place for this kind of thing, but if anyone can help...

I installed Windows 10 Pro and got everything running. It connected to the internet and automatically grabbed some drivers, though I'm not exactly sure which ones. Does anyone know if I actually need to go out and manually download all the drivers for the motherboard, GPU, etc.? Also, is there some software that just handles the whole thing at once, or am I stuck doing them one by one?

Alright, just placed the order. They’ve got all these parts in stock.
Thanks for the tips and all the help, everyone!

I'll get that sent over to them, then they should get back to me on Monday.

Thanks for the help!

Their motherboard is slightly cheaper than what crimsonstag84 suggested, and since the GPU is only $57 more expensive, I'm not sweating that part too much..

But there's one thing I'm wondering: are those parts actually just as good, if not better, than the ones on the list? The graphics card feels a bit weaker to me, and honestly, I have no clue about that motherboard.

They’re out of stock on the motherboard and GPU
crimstag84
mentioned. Instead, they're offering me this as a swap:

So, what's the move? Also, I need a recommendation for a Wi-Fi adapter—internal or external, honestly doesn't matter to me.

Wouldn't it be better to just grab 2x4GB DDR4?

I think I'm leaning toward going with what crimsonstag84 offered; at the end of the day, it looks like the best deal $2633. If anyone knows of any parts better than those, feel free to suggest them—I've still got some wiggle room in my budget.

By any chance, do you guys know if this is going to be one of those "glowy" PCs? You know, all those LED lights around the fans? Can I get it without all that? I already have enough light in my room.😛

Hey,

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a decent gaming rig (even though the timing sucks right now and I'm tired of waiting)...

My main dilemma is whether to grab a Gigabyte GTX 1070 now to get it over with, or just settle for a 1060 6GB and upgrade to something better down the road..

Also, does anyone have a solid monitor recommendation? Ideally around $150-$200 with an anti-glare screen, if that's even possible at that price point. If not, just any good gaming monitor suggestions will do..
I know I'm being a pain, but what do you guys think about using a TV instead of a monitor?
(A Vivax 32" LED TV, 1366x768 resolution) not sure if that's even worth mentioning)

Any advice helps.

Thanks!
Used PC builds: What are they worth? in Desktops ·
So, is Adam Ramirez12 actually looking to sell this thing? $500 So, if everything actually went down exactly like they said—meaning it didn't work at all—and assuming there's still a valid warranty, did they actually get their money back? I mean, if that card can just limp through another year or two running games on High or Ultra settings before you swap it out or just scrap the whole build for something new once you've got a $1,000 budget ready to go... is it even worth the headache?$2500?
Right now I'm stuck with an AOC 2216sw. It’s ancient. I might actually consider swapping it out if I can find something decent that won't break the bank.

I know this isn't really the right spot for this, but...

Is that card actually in the same league as a GTX1060? If it is, I'm thinking about grabbing it and building a rig around it. Is it even worth it if it’s unused and still under warranty?

I'll just wait a bit longer for prices to drop, then maybe toss in a few extra bucks to grab a slightly better gaming rig instead.

thanks for the reply

Adam Ramirez12 said:Hey, I picked up this rig about a month ago and realized I don't really need it anymore. Looking to offload it—any idea what I could get for this setup right now? :
Asus Prime z270-k
CPU G4560 3,5 Ghz
DDDR4 8 gb(2400 MHz)
Kingston SSD 120Gb
MSI RX580 8 GB armor OC x2 Facal Desing
Focus G red
Forton 600W, HyperM semi-modular

Thanks in advance

Is it actually worth grabbing a used build like this for $45$1633 if it still has a warranty? Also, is this thing even decent for gaming? I'm looking to pick up a PC soon and this seems like a steal.
I don't know, man sent me the link out of nowhere. I'll just ask him where he even found it. Thanks for the heads up
