Watching this is honestly nauseating. Honestly, Rudić really should have been more aggressive with the refs—playing it this passive makes it look like the officiating was perfectly fair when it clearly wasn't. It doesn't matter, though. That was some of the most idiotic water polo I’ve seen in a long time. As for the officiating? It felt more like a handball match. It’s honestly mind-blowing how much these referees can just dictate the entire flow of the game in sports like this. But hey, even if the calls were perfect, our guys were playing like garbage anyway. ☕
Look, everything else might be fine, but honestly, do those Germans even know how to play water polo? edit: regardless of what anyone says, the way our guys are playing right now is an absolute DISASTER.
And the refs just love us, don't they? 🙂 I’ve gotta admit, I’ve been following water polo for decades now, but this is the first time I’ve ever actually sat through these four-minute penalties. Twice in two different games, no less.
The other side basically beat us through sheer defensive dominance. Every single time our guys tried to push forward, they were getting shut down instantly. But when they went on the offensive? Man, you just didn't know who to be more afraid of. Everyone was wide open.
Another lackluster performance, and once again, we looked completely lost against a set defense. Our backline was predictably full of holes. Honestly, I’m starting to worry we won't walk away with anything meaningful from this road trip to Chicago. 😢
When I was calling out some bullshit regarding MA during the game against Egypt, people acted like I was some kind of war criminal. Now? I guess everyone’s suddenly gained their sight, huh?
I switch over to handball just in time to watch Dom Duvnjak blow yet another fast break—honestly, my grandmother could’ve scored that one easier than him.
