Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Thanks so much for the tips on the details! 🙂 My in-laws are coming over on September 2nd and I’m really hoping to put together some bright, colorful bouquets—but I have no clue what flowers are actually in season then??? Anyone know?

Maybe poke around the site a bit more to find something else... or just head to their shop and ask someone directly. Isn't that usually the best way to go?

This would be absolutely perfect for me, but I haven't actually been there yet! Still, thanks a ton!!!

Hey, does anyone know where I can pick up some silver embellishments to sew onto fabric? I've been scouting around both Essen and New York City, but I'm coming up empty. All I see are those thin little ribbons meant for folk costumes. I need something more substantial to really make this rhinestone dress pop!!

Walter Moore5 said:Actually, Elijah has an identical package for $1333. The photos we saw from them look good and the staff seems friendly. However, I don't personally know anyone they've shot for, so I don't have real feedback. I did see one negative review on a forum and heard something similar from an acquaintance... so now I'm a little worried.

Did you happen to see David's work at his studio or through someone you know?

Bratic actually had them shoot his wedding, and they handled both the photos and video perfectly. Everything turned out great, and the wedding album was put together beautifully!! Plus, he showed me an album from another couple they did just to give me an idea of their style.

Also, does anyone have a photographer recommendation that won't break the bank?

I'm going with David from Savannah. I'm getting 3 DVDs, 300 photos, and 4 albums$67! Think that's a fair price? I checked out his work and I'm obsessed—it’s exactly my style, though maybe not yours! But honestly, David is awesome. He's super easy to work with and open to whatever you need.

But what kind of venue are we talking about? It really depends. You can find places where you just rent the space and bring your own catering, or you can go all-in with per-person packages. Prices usually range from $100 (or even more) up to $50 per guest.

My relatives are getting married on September 2nd. She’s got an appointment scheduled for maybe a day earlier, I don't know—though she doesn't really trust that timing. She thinks it'll be later.🤷 Not sure if there's a specific site for her. But you can find her photo on the Leon Production Facebook page; it's from her wedding, and she did her own makeup. It looks amazing!🙏

Jack Lee5 said:Hey Helen—just wanted to let you know that I’ve already booked her. If you happen to need her number, just shoot me a private message and I'll send it over. 🙂

Helen really needs to go into labor right around when my in-laws visit, even though she keeps insisting it won't happen then. 😕 So I honestly have no clue! Thanks though, I’ve already got her number!

))🙂

Oh, awesome!!! Does anyone know any other makeup artists besides Victoria and Ana? Is there some Helen out there? Honestly, I need to have everyone on standby—from the bridesmaids down to the makeup artist!😠

jadeskipper85 said:I reached out to Victoria on Facebook yesterday, and she finally got back to me today, so I managed to snag an appointment. 🤷 Maybe the girl is just swamped right now and hasn't had a chance to reply, especially since she has someone booked with me in the morning and then another client later that evening.

Since we're hearing this from Victoria, I've gotta ask one thing. I've already had to reschedule with her twice—honestly, the venue owner is totally screwing us over with these dates. For my date on September 2nd, Victoria told me she has me in the morning and some other girl in the evening. So, what's your wedding date?? Just want to make sure we aren't fighting over the exact same day!😢

neonridge38 said:Hey, where exactly are you heading? Which arena are you at? You forgot to mention the venue!

My bad, sorry! But seriously, you can find organza in basically any warehouse. It just depends on what color you're hunting for, but they all carry it!😉

You can find all the plastic stuff—cups, plates, cookie boxes, whatever—only at Hall 15! But those balloon bows? You can find them pretty much anywhere, and they cost the exact same thing.

I was hitting up the aisles yesterday and scored some bows for like $2 for a pack of 10, aluminum trays for a buck, and those sturdy plastic cups—you get 50 in a pack $6.75. I also grabbed the little shot glasses and the bigger ones for soda, plus cookie boxes for about a dollar, and a 100-pack of balloons $6.75. Picked up some forks too, and rolls of organza fabric—10 yards per roll $10 (I went with green). Around here, 10 yards runs you about $22. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s definitely worth the trip!

Jack Lee5 said:I’m currently being served their cakes at the office, so I’ve been wondering about the actual quality—I’m planning to give them a proper test run soon, along with my mom, just to see if we should consider switching vendors entirely. My main priority is that they aren't loaded with margarine; I want something that actually tastes good, even if the aesthetic is just "fine" rather than spectacular. By the way, does Ujna do any catering work? I still haven't decided who is going to handle the wedding cake!

Look, the ones I've tried are great and don't have tons of margarine in them! As for me, my aunt works at a bakery production facility and she's handling all our cakes, including the big wedding one.

Jack Lee5 said:Has anyone here actually ordered cakes from the local bakery near the mall?

I’ll stick to their pastries, but my aunt actually makes cakes for that guy and they’re amazing (at least the ones I've had)! Won't be getting cakes from them though, since I get a sweet discount at my aunt's place!😉

brightotter21 said:Robin Chase7, honestly it just depends on how you do things... personally, I found those rosemary ties at the local garden center, they had 8 different brands for about $25 for 25 meters

Do you happen to remember which convention hall you were at? If I remember right, Hall 15 and the ones nearby usually have the better deals.

Anyway, I'm heading out in two weeks!! 🙂 And I'm gonna need about 40 yards!!😂

Jack Lee5 said:I noticed you were looking into booking a full band—mine just played a wedding recently, and honestly? They weren't great. The music was way too loud, to the point where you could barely even hear the vocals over the instruments!

Ugh, don't even tell me that!!😲 Are you sure we're talking about the same group? There are actually two different bands called 100%!!!! They have the exact same name!!!🤷

urbanpanther18 said:Nobody's saying anything about the joker band from Indianapolis😢 guys, help me out. Time is flying, and even though the wedding isn't for another year, everyone's already booked up... I Still band Indianapolis?? They look awesome online, though.

Both bands are great! It really just comes down to your vibe. Honestly, I got a bit tired of Joker because I went to five weddings in a row where they played... and don't get me wrong, they were awesome, the energy was high, etc., but the setlist was exactly the same every single time. We knew exactly which song was coming next...😲
You can't go wrong with either of them...

nimblebadger57 said:One thing is for sure: we definitely don't want any cheesy country singers at this party....!!!!
We already got a suggestion for The Beach Boys, some Libertarian Party crowd out of Savannah
but over the next two weekends, we really ought to check out Still band and The Doobie Brothers.
I'm not exactly looking to crash someone else's wedding to find out if they're any good...🤷

Hey, I actually know The Beach Boys from Indianapolis... they cost a bit more, but I went to a few weddings where they played and they were awesome!!! Hopefully, we get someone like that too!!😍
