neonridge38 said:Walter Price5, hey, I’m planning to book everything for August. I'll be doing a trial run for hair and makeup, too. If you're up for it when the big day comes, maybe I can have my sister snap some photos? Then I could send them over so you can check out their style... 🙂
I didn't actually ask which brands they use, and honestly, I don't need much makeup anyway since I rarely wear any. So, yeah... haha... 🙂

I guess I'll probably be doing my trial by then too... though who knows... I've been a little behind on everything lately. Just let me know whenever you head out.

I'm not quite sure what the venue looks like either, but as soon as I find out, I'll let you know. Regarding the rates at Studio 54, a wedding hairstyle for mid-length hair is $73, while makeup is $40. Personally, I love that everything is all in one place and it’s pretty close by, so... 🙂

Does Studio 54 have cosmetics included within the hair salon? Let me know if you're happy with the hair and makeup after the trial... I might want to book it too. Do you happen to know which brands they use?

Hey... I'm back after taking a break... jumping back in now that the big day is getting close 😁
I'll be heading home this weekend, so I might swing by the hallway shop. I was wondering if anyone knows if they have any zebra print napkins or satin ribbons in stock there?
Or maybe someone has seen them somewhere else. I checked eBay, but they only have about 10 yards available, and I really don't want to end up with a bunch of mismatched zebra patterns.
So, if anyone has any leads... please help me out

I figured I’d jump in here too... my wedding is set for October 22nd... I've already locked in the venue, the photographer, and the band... but now I’m looking for some help with cakes, floral arrangements, and hair stylists. Maybe?
If anyone happens to know someone truly reliable, please let me know. It would be a massive help, I guess. Thanks so much. 🙂)))

I happen to have the exact same date. Glad I'm not alone, I suppose. Hopefully the weather cooperates. 🙂
I went with a group from Memphis for the flowers—Party City—but I haven't sorted out the cake or hair yet. Just whenever I get around to it, I guess. 🙂

I'm probably gonna head over there anyway, if nothing else just to grab some decent BBQ. 😁
Plus, I heard there's this shopping center near Orašje that carries di Capriov outfits, and apparently, the prices are pretty great!
If all else fails, at least we'll get a little road trip out of it and find some good food!!! 🤣

I don't think there is anything special there, though I guess ties, lapel pins, or bowties are sold by the bag rather than individually. 😁

Has anyone traveled through Canada lately? I'm wondering about the availability of supplies like lapel materials, tulle, and things like that.

This goes for the other ladies too.

oops...my bad...but I asked here because we're talking about salons in the Midwest. I just needed it without the photo.🙂

Does anyone know which bridal boutiques in the Midwest carry Deloitte wedding dresses? I think I asked this before, but maybe nobody saw it?

Well, at least you sorted out the flowers, which means you love them. And BRAVO on the award!

As for the wedding dress... just post some photos on the forum so we can help you out. Strangers are always the most honest.

I also picked up pieces from the Warsaw women... they're great, one less headache.

So that's it then—all we can do is wait for The Day and post the pictures in order!🙂

thanks... how am I supposed to upload the dresses I'm torn between?

Robin Chase7 said:Hey everyone, my partner and I are actually looking to buy some wine directly from a winery or a local producer. We just aren't really feeling the typical distributor deals we see lately—it always feels like you're paying a premium for blends like Merlot or Cabernet where you don't even know the actual origin of the grapes, which feels a bit dishonest if you ask me. So, I was wondering if anyone might have some good recommendations? We'd love to find a specific vineyard, or maybe even just some individuals who sell their own private labels or small batches

If you want quality, Kutjevo Chardonnay is highly regarded and pretty much the staple in the Midwest. You could just head down to their tasting room; they might offer a cheaper bulk rate by the liter, or you can opt for the bottled stuff which costs more. I guess I don't know the exact price for the bulk option. Usually, though, it starts around 15-$6.75.

So, we're talking about a total blackout.
Around 350 to 400 photos compiled into an album.
Starting things off today with a little trip down memory lane—here’s a photo from back when I was just a kid.
A little glimpse into what some call a "love story."
The wedding playlist mix.
An increase of 20x30.
A six-row accordion.
Three DVD sets (ranging from 2 to 4 discs each).

The thank-you notes are from the 5th.$2.25It really depends on the format you choose.

We stopped by his place since he runs his own business, and he actually hosts newcomers at his home by appointment. He’s even set up one entire room specifically in that style. I was really impressed by everything we saw—he does large-scale canvas work too, though I haven't finalized the details on those specific pieces yet.

The total won't be much higher, really. The main difference is that I’ll have a slightly larger dance with the bride and more photos with my relatives. Honestly, I can't quite remember if I mentioned earlier that you get all the photos on a DVD, including both the originals and the edited versions...

The Ledger is absolutely perfect, but there’s a bit of a catch with the price tag... I haven't quite made up my mind yet whether it's worth the splurge. I'll have to convince my partner that it's a must-have for us!

thanks for explaining... I mean, I like him too... but I wasn't there during his meeting, so guessing blindly like this feels pointless. I called them and he signed me up since I'll be visiting here around Easter, but he said if anyone else calls for that date, he'll let me know whether to book or pass. Fair enough, I guess.

urbanviper80 said:My wedding is this July, and I've actually decided to go with Krizmanić... I'm not super familiar with the photographers in Vinkovci; we're more from the Midwest area, so everyone usually just uses Cibalia.

Since I made up my mind that I don't want the exact same photo albums and thank-you gifts as the last ten weddings I've attended, 😕 I decided to book video Krizmanić. They did a job for a colleague of mine once, and I was really happy with the results... in the end, my fiancé and I met with them, loved their style, and settled all the details...

Ultimately, it's all down to personal taste. I find their photography style really interesting and much more unique than what most people in my neck of the woods use...

Plus, the pricing is fair... the base package starts at $1500, though it'll be a bit higher for us since our guest list is massive... anyway, I'm satisfied... 😍

What does "huge wedding party" even mean? I guess it just means a massive crowd at the ceremony. Maybe. 🙂 Will I have 350, or maybe even more? I gave Smith a quick call just so he could put me on the list, but I really wanted to handle this in person. I won't be around here for another four months. I guess I should get it sorted, though I’d much rather deal with it face-to-face so I can mention a few other things I want.
I didn't even ask about the price since I was just calling for a ballpark estimate, but I heard it’s around $6,000. I guess that's acceptable, provided he actually delivers everything I'm looking for. 😂

Does anyone happen to know which bridal boutiques in the Midwest carry Demetrios gowns? I'm looking for decent shops—maybe some that won't break the bank—where the dresses are actually in good condition?

casualfalcon15 said:I haven't quite decided what I want yet; I'm constantly second-guessing myself. 🙂 We discussed some ballpark figures that I'm actually happy with. Personally, I'd be willing to pay up to $1333, and for that kind of money, I really expect to get my money's worth. Most importantly—I want actual flowers, not just a bunch of greenery and random filler. I see it at weddings all the time: tons of leaves and maybe one tiny little bud... yet the bill is huge. You, for instance, can get a great arrangement from the El Paso crew for just 20-$8.25. What I love is that they don't nickel and dime you for every little detail, from candles to tulle. Whether you hand them 1000 or just 10 $0.00 for the flowers, they include the candles and everything else you need. It's all bundled into the arrangement price. Honestly, I'm beyond satisfied (like I said before) and I'd recommend them to anyone. If you need anything else, just ask 👍

Thanks for the info... I actually called them today, and they aren't really expensive... she just mentioned it depends on which flowers you pick. I like that you can bring your own items if you find something cheaper elsewhere, like test tubes or small decorations, etc.
But they do charge for their labor and certain extras they provide.

Jeffrey Walker3 said:Hmm, maybe I'll just tell the crew this... I'm definitely footing the bill for my family (not that there are many of us), but I've got a huge circle of friends, and I'm honestly not sure how I'm gonna handle them all...

That's why I figured we'd put the crew at the last-minute rate for Lady Gaga, because they don't really care where they stay if they aren't even going to sleep—they'll probably just spend their time grabbing drinks or showering, so it isn't worth blowing money on fancy lodging... plus, they said themselves they don't mind... you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth $30🙂
as for the older folks, we'll pay somewhere else, likely at the Ritz, since that's where our family and godparents usually go; Lady Gaga only holds 56 people, which is just enough for the group 🙂

though that isn't our final plan... we're actually going to check out the Lady Gaga hostel during Easter first, because based on what everyone is saying here... it sounds pretty terrible.

Mark Nguyen11 said:I already touched on this in another thread, but I'll say it again here...

I've been to plenty of weddings, both here in the States and abroad, and nobody has ever picked up the tab for my lodging. I never felt it was expected, nor did I expect it (once, I even paid around $167 for a night's stay and no one complained). Honestly, I've never even heard of someone having their room paid for; it's the first time I've seen it mentioned on this forum (if that's even a thing people do). People, this is just standard practice nowadays. I think more folks would be surprised if I *did* pay for them rather than if I didn't... and no, I don't feel bad asking people to cover themselves. Maybe I'll get slightly smaller gifts because of it (that's usually how it works), but still...

You just tell them: the rooms are reserved for those who want to attend, but you'll need to handle your own booking and payment.
And that's that...

Well, I’ve been to weddings where my hotel or rental house was actually covered; I basically had guaranteed lodging. Especially since people are traveling from one end of the country to the other. About 70% of the guests have never even been to the Midwest, so they shouldn't be wandering around looking for hotels. It’s better if everyone stays in one spot, especially since there's usually organized transport from a central location to go find the bride and groom.

Mark Nguyen11 said:Is there any news on Mia?

Are you really sure you want to host guests there?
Did you check with Cibolet or maybe Slavi? Or even Vili? They tend to be a bit pricier, but for a group that large, I'm sure they'd be willing to work with us on the price.

We booked out almost the entire Marriott for that period—a few days before and a few days after. My husband and his relatives aren't even local. I made it crystal clear to everyone from the start: they cover their own lodging. They’re just getting a group discount because of us, and that’s where I draw the line. It feels fair to me. Nobody has complained or taken offense; in fact, everyone is thrilled because the rates are so low. Honestly, I don't know how I would have managed if I were expected to foot the hotel bill for everyone.

It's quite a drive, and since it's so expensive, they told their guests they'd handle the lodging because it wasn't much compared to beach prices. So, I'm wondering, what's the best and most affordable option for housing?
No one replied, so I haven't called Cibo or anyone else yet, and I haven't heard of the Ritz.
Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call and check.

Mark Nguyen11 said:Then why not just book the rooms at the Admiral? You already have guests there. Every other hotel is further out—especially that Gem hostel, which is practically outside the city limits. Your guests would end up having to hop in a car and drive several miles anyway... I don't quite get it. Besides, the Admiral offers discounts for wedding guests.

I know, but I need space for about 100 people, so the price difference matters if it's $33 and 135 per person... the bridal party and I will stay at the Hilton... but the groom is from San Francisco and his guests are coming from there, so we thought it might be better to have the gathering and reception at a different hotel rather than the Hilton where our wedding party is staying.
The Marriott holds 56 people, so most of our friends will probably end up there, while the rest of the guests can stay at the Hilton; we'll probably organize it that way so I don't have to add yet another hotel to the mix.🙂

casualfalcon15 said:Here’s me after a few days 🙂 and in those few days, I managed to get almost everything checked off my list 🙂)) I see people asking about the "exclusive" options—I already went and booked 🙂 without a second thought. The meeting was great, very laid back. I walked away with plenty of info and some fresh ideas. Since I'm still not entirely sure what kind of floral vibe I want 🙂, I'm playing it by ear. The Girls are pretty much booked up for the year, so if you're interested, move fast. The prices are solid; I’m really happy with it. You can work out all the details with them, and they pay attention to the little things, which I appreciate. Also, vases, glassware, mirrors, candles, crystals, and stuff like that? They don't charge extra. It's all included in the price. 🙂 And yeah, that Valentine's gift. You pull the little packages out of the gift box and you just see what you get 🙂)) If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
As for Jak, I can't imagine going to her 🙂 I've already made my reservations 🙂>. Anyone who goes to either Jak or the local florist is going to see a massive difference. Especially when it comes to the quality of the work and the sheer volume of flowers. That’s what I’ve heard, and looking at the photos, I’m convinced. But hey, it's your call; I trust everyone to pick what works best for them 🙂
Now I just have the tent, lighting... a few more small things and I'm basically done!!! All in all, I AM BEYOND HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also curious about the pricing for the girls at Exclusive Houston. Roughly how many people does that price cover? And what exactly did you settle on for that amount?
