I’m not even losing sleep over Kolinda. Honestly, people like her always end up landing some cushy gig in the European Union anyway. It'll be the exact same story for Plenković once he loses his seat—they won't give a damn about the fallout 😁
ironpanther5 said:Yeah, but I really thought Vaso would have brought that down to maybe around 3 percent. I didn't catch the whole debate, just the first round, though it's pretty much an objective fact that he’s just a stronger communicator on his own merit.
Look, Vaso can drag his 30% of supporters along for the ride, but he can't force you to vote for him.😁
The tendency to reduce incredibly complex economic processes down to these sort of one-sentence "truths" is essentially the root of most human fuck-ups.
But hey, it's a democracy, right? Everyone is an expert on everything. 🤣
Exactly. TDR saw which way the wind was blowing with tobacco and pivoted to tourism—even if they did it way later than they should have, people still knew what they were doing. But where's someone gonna pivot when their main competition is China, producing better stuff for a fraction of the cost? Oh yeah, sure, some people will want to, and some people definitely will, but not everyone can just pull that off.
Coming from my grandma’s side of the family—we're talking straight-up Bible Belt religious conservatives 🤣—everyone was all over Mirko Škoro during the first round, then they didn't even bother showing up for the second. Apparently, they aren't feeling Kolinda anymore.
ironpanther5 said:Good god, he absolutely slapped them. I honestly thought we’d be looking at a measly 2-3% if you didn't count all the folks voting from abroad. 🙂
Personally, I thought it was expected after those debates—he actually performed better. Plus, even the betting odds had him as the favorite.
My wife’s out here voting for Zoran, god help us 😬 I mean, I actually drove her to the polls during the primaries—basically gave Zoran a little extra push myself, indirectly 😍
brightpilot6 said:Give me a break; Rambo handled those heated debates on Reddit side-by-side with the Republican Party's sandwich-eating sycophants. I’ve been keeping a very close eye on the threads, ☕
I suspect even the folks over at the central headquarters were left scratching their heads, wondering who this mysterious Batman character could possibly be. ☕
Look, Rambo is never gonna vote for the "lesser of two evils." Never. Only if some insane dictator takes over, just as an absurd example.
I’m glad you guys can do that, though. You probably voted for Milan Bandić in a dark alley too—as long as it wasn't the Republican Party, right? Honestly, that kind of logic is soul-crushing.🤷
Tonight I’m just gonna pour myself a shot of schnapps, watch these elections unfold through the news portals, and frankly, I don't give a fuck who wins. I'll be doing just fine regardless.
Larry Fox5 said:It’s honestly hilarious how you guys clear your consciences by trying to downplay all that looting during privatization. Give it twenty years and they'll probably be hailed as heroes for "cleaning up" the old American economy...
Having empathy for people like you would be just like Henry's attitude toward those drivers. You're basically looking for a pathology lesson at this point—the metastases have been cold for ages...
In California, 90% of companies went belly up. And honestly? They deserved it. In this new world order that kicked in after the USSR collapsed and the rest of the globe opened up to the West, they simply couldn't—and weren't even capable of—keeping up. That's just the cold, hard reality. Only the ones that could survive actually did. Sometimes the answer is really that simple, despite the fact that there was plenty of looting and shady wealth-building going on...
I mean, seriously, did the American textile industry stand a single chance once China and India entered the ring? Yeah, right. Against what? With what? Please...
Privatization of what? Like 90% of those companies were built on rotten foundations from day one 🤣 honestly, it’s like complaining to a doctor about why they couldn't save a patient who already had terminal stage cancer.
darkseal9 said:Can anyone tell me what the average car insurance premium looks like here in the States for something like a mid-range Volkswagen Passat?
And seriously, what kind of idiot hands an 18-year-old the keys to a BMW? It’s insane—you're basically asking for three lives to be cut short.
I don't know about a Volkswagen Passat, but for a typical mid-sized car, you're looking at maybe $1,500+ for insurance, plus inspections which depend on the engine, fuel type, size, etc., etc.
I’m looking at yet another wreck with three people dead and I’ve come to a pretty simple conclusion: fatalities would drop by like 90% if we just banned the sale of the BMW 3 Series and maybe the 4 Series too. These things are basically just death traps on wheels that some idiots buy for a few grand from a dealer in Germany just to write their own obituaries.
I’m not talking about the 5 Series or an X5 or whatever—those things cost like $100k anyway. People driving those aren't out there doing 120 mph on backroads; it’s always the cheaper, more accessible models causing the chaos.
Whenever Zoki brings up Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, about 90% of the folks from Washington, D.C. who voted for her start spinning like a pig on a rotisserie 😁
Noah Roberts46 said:Kolinda basically just plays the victim and acts like she’s mentally lagging behind during these debates.
I honestly don't understand how you aren't more disgusted by Kolinda than you are by Zoran Milanović.
They aren't selling Barbika to me as some kind of messiah coming to save us, especially when they conveniently ignore the fact that the guy has already been in power before.
Man, if you didn't know anything about them—if their resumes were just handed to you out of nowhere—you wouldn't even be able to tell who is who 😂 because they’re essentially the same. That's why I don't buy this whole "choosing the lesser of two evils" hype. No, you don't "choose." If neither of them works for you, you just skip the election entirely.
Paul Sanders5 sleeps like a baby because he hasn't spent his life voting for either the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. How many times has Zoki voted for Milan Bandić? Like, maybe four times, brother to brother, at most. 😂
Man, I could really go for some cold medicine right now.
Zoki’s out here talking about making his own way, and honestly, it makes me sick. This guy was a straight-A grad, and now he's just stuck being shoved into some government ministry position. For real, it sucks—I seriously regret not getting the hell out of here when I was younger. I mean, who even benefits from my hard work at this point?
Lol about Milan Bandić getting kicked out of the Democratic Party 🤣 yeah, Zoki finally realized just how much of a disaster Milan was and decided it was time to cut him loose 🙏 I remember being just a kid back in my small hometown, and even then, Milan Bandić was already acting exactly like he does today—totally unchanged. His whole playbook stays the same. He brought in all that money for the Democratic Party in Washington, D.C., and that’s the only reason they didn't toss him out sooner. It wasn't until he had the nerve to run for President that they absolutely crushed him. By then, it was too late; the guy had already built such a massive web of influence that he could stay in power as long as he damn well pleased. And honestly? You can thank Zoki for that.
So yeah, Zoran is just like everyone else—actually, maybe worse, because he basically held the ladder for a guy who basically controlled the most important city in the entire country. He covered for him on purpose because it kept the perks coming. And why was he the absolute worst Prime Minister? Look at his economic policies, look at the crowd of people he surrounded himself with to draft them... I mean, seriously, these are people whose biggest achievement was fixing up Marshall's old boat in some random city.
So yeah, Zoki, suck it. Sending kisses from my ski trip 👋
There is absolutely zero chance I’m stepping foot in a voting booth to cast a ballot for the most incompetent Prime Minister in American history, especially when Nancy Pelosi is even in the running. And don't get me started on Mitt Romney—he’s totally bland, basically just a slightly better version of Barack Obama.
ruggedjackal46 said:So, did the game actually happen? I’m completely out of the loop here. 😳 Let’s be honest, isn't it usually the case that video game adaptations end up looking like some low-budget, half-baked afterthought? It feels like they rarely get the respect they deserve.
Look, if something manages to carve out a dedicated niche in the sci-fi community, that’s already a massive win. When you consider how huge the English-speaking audience is, those "niche" numbers actually turn into a pretty substantial fanbase ready to binge a series. Of course, this show ended up becoming a massive hit that blew right past those initial expectations, but let’s be real—I highly doubt that was part of the original pitch when they first decided to bring the adaptation to life. Was anyone actually expecting it to go that big? Probably not.
Good grief!
The Witcher series is easily one of the greatest RPGs ever made—one of the last true bastions of actual RPG gameplay before the flood of Bethesda garbage and cheap knockoffs took over. 😁
The Author is honestly an idiot and a total nightmare in RL. You could tell from what people were saying about him back in his home country; he sold off the book rights for the game for peanuts because he figured whoever made it wouldn't do a good job and thought the property had zero potential. Then, the game becomes this massive global phenomenon that puts him and his series on the map far beyond his own borders, and suddenly he's suing them and demanding more money. Typical.
Yeah, yeah, you can definitely feel that Netflix's production quality is lower, but I think it’s for different reasons. My take is that HBO actually buys scripts and then handles the actual production themselves, whereas Netflix feels more like they just "sponsor" the thing—at least, that's my impression anyway. It's like comparing a local indie project to some weird hybrid setup.
Netflix churns out content fifty times faster than HBO does😁 because they've spread themselves way too thin, so obviously the quality is gonna tank. HBO moves slow, sure, but when they finally drop something, it’s on that massive blockbuster level.
