Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a great hair stylist who specializes in coloring and highlights? I'm looking for someone in the Indianapolis area.
Has anyone ever been to the salon at General Dynamics? I heard David is an excellent stylist, so I was wondering if anyone has firsthand experience with him? Also, does he work solo there, or are there other stylists on staff? Thanks so much! I just can't seem to track down a truly great hairdresser—someone who actually knows what they're doing!
I have mentioned a few times now that I wouldn't recommend using Ivan Ivanovo Photography, even if they were the very last photo studio left on the planet. I am truly writing this from the heart for anyone currently looking to book a videographer.
I just have to say, photographer Ivan Ivankovo is an absolute disaster—just a total zero.
I’ll be doing my video my own way, but what he’s doing is a complete catastrophe. I don't usually like to speak negatively about people, but I really can't recommend Ivan Ivankovo at all.
Andrew James2 said:Hi everyone! I’m looking to gather some advice and firsthand experiences regarding live bands and photographers. For our band, we are specifically searching for a group with a female vocalist. Our top choice was originally SoundCloud, but unfortunately, they are already booked for our date on 😢. Right now, we are considering Twisties, The Band, or The Beach Boys. Personally, The Beach Boys and Twisties seem to have a much more upbeat and energetic vibe, but I am debating whether it is truly worth paying an extra $200 or $300 for them. If anyone here has attended a wedding where they were performing, I would love to hear your impressions... As for photography, does anyone have experience working with Click photo and video? We looked into some of the major production houses, but their quotes are just astronomical. I have a feeling it might be possible to find high-quality work for significantly less money, wouldn't you agree? Hallelujah
I think all of those are great choices! Just stay away from Passage Band. I've heard The Beach Boys and Twisties are wonderful! Good luck!
I caught a set by the band Passage from Indianapolis recently; they’ve certainly got the vocals down, but honestly, they just lack that certain something.
I called Sweetness in Ivankov to order a cake, and she just told me over the phone to hurry up and make a decision. I guess I’ve never experienced such rudeness before. How frustrating!

Last Saturday, I headed out to a wedding, and I actually went to see my stylist beforehand to get my hair done—she was handling mine and the rest of the bridal party's looks too. Since this was just a trial run, I made sure to mention that, so we ended up going through everything step-by-step, commenting on every little part of the process as we went...
Otherwise, you’ll probably just end up with something halfway decent at best—nothing truly finished.
So, what kind of look were you actually dreaming of?
She told me, "No," and then she just shows me a photo instead of actually doing the hair so others can see the style, which isn't helpful at all. Plus, since I was attending a wedding that Saturday, I asked her if we could do a trial, but she wouldn't agree to it. You had such a smooth experience with your stylist, but I'm definitely not having that luck with mine. 🙂 She just dismissed me by saying my hair is "simple." Honestly, though, I'm terrified that even with this "simple" style, she’s going to mess it up completely. I want big, voluminous curls with something like a braid swept up in the front. I've been browsing online, and I'm really not feeling those overly fussy, decorated hairstyles. Does anyone know a good website or maybe a Facebook group where I can see photos of actual wedding parties?
Also, does anyone know a good makeup artist in VK-ZU?
I could really use some help. My makeup artist's schedule is completely packed, so I won't be able to book a trial session with her. Does anyone know of a talented, high-quality makeup artist located in the VK-ZU area or the surrounding towns? Please let me know if you have any recommendations!
Also, could someone explain how hair trials actually work? Is the stylist just showing you a rough idea of the look and then letting the hair down?
My stylist suggested she would just show me a preview and then immediately undo the style. Is that really how the process usually goes?
Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to rent some long bar tables, chairs, and tablecloths? I am looking to host something at my house here in the VK-ZU area.
Henry Harris5 said:Hey everyone! Has anyone here actually gone through the process of buying custom license plates? Where do you usually go, and what kind of prices are we looking at these days?
A photographer is actually going to make some custom plates for us over at $6.75. You might also be able to grab some at Freehouse-VK, and I think they probably have them in Vigus too.

She absolutely is—in fact, I was just over at their shop today to finalize the dessert order for the wedding guests.🙂 I placed my order for the pastries at Catherine's Bakery & Cafe, though I'm thinking about heading over to Vigor for the cakes.
Does anyone know where Catherine's Bakery & Cafe is located? I was wondering if they have a Facebook page or a website, and what street they're on. I don't think I've ever heard of them before.
Does anyone know of any good bakers making cookies or baby shower cakes around the St. Louis area, besides the folks over at Small town, USA? They seem to be the only ones everyone talks about, so I was wondering if there are any other great options out there?

I want a group that plays plenty of international tracks along with some local hits—ideally some older classics too. My guests are pretty diverse, so I need that variety; honestly, I just prefer this style over a traditional folk ensemble anyway. If you have any recommendations beyond the two I mentioned, please let me know. I’ve already checked out Babylon, Passage, Quattro Band, The Speen, and Status. A few of them are great, but their rates are a bit steep for me. I’m looking to stay under $1,700 total, including travel, though $1,500 would be the sweet spot. Best,
We ended up booking Passage for $1,500. We heard great things about them, so we went with them. We gave them our song list and they know almost everything; we’ll definitely have some international music. They play just about everything, except for country music, obviously (except for Halid). What do you think of them? We haven't actually had the chance to hear them live yet. Good luck!
Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to pick up some adhesive tape? I was thinking it could serve as a little DIY fix for our hair accessories instead of using those bulky hair ties or pliers.
Also, does anyone know where one can find some affordable bracelets or wristbands? It would be a nice little gesture for the ladies. Just something simple and easy, nothing too fancy, I suppose.
