Discussion: What kind of Reddit do we want... (and Complaints) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
There’s plenty more where that came from, but let’s just look at this:
To show everyone exactly what kind of people you are:

Then one day you guys go ahead and delete this too:
Which I spent a long time writing—really putting effort into it—and which I had already discussed countless times via DM with positivex:

The amount of mindless junk posted on this Reddit is insane, yet my long, thoughtful post gets nuked without any explanation whatsoever.

There is absolutely no reason to delete a post that I struggled to write, a post that was constructive and wasn't trying to bait anyone or stir the pot!
It was purely meant as a little nudge for positivex to actually think about... well, my post, to start with...

And it was written specifically to see if positivex has changed at all or stayed the same... stuff like that...
What exactly was harmful or malicious about my post?

Nothing at all—and the same goes for the notice regarding people using the ignore function.

This is a general discussion thread, not some random one-off topic that shouldn't be brought up, or whatever excuse you want to use.

You’re doing this out of pure spite and malice!
The way you act... well, karma works. It'll come back to you.

*****
positivex said:That's a bit of an oversimplification. I was thinking more generally about habits... not just the desire to judge someone's character.
Here are a few attempts at changing my own habits and personality. I won't go into full detail here, but for the sake of the thread:
1. Eat soup... you have to eat soup... all those philosophies about soup and the consequences of not having enough, and how it affects my health... etc.
Even though I don't like eating soup, I won't eat it, and I don't intend to. I made that quite clearly.🙄
Back then I was young and foolish, and after being told about soup about 234 times, I almost had it served to me on a silver platter with a side of attitude. Like, seriously? Nowadays I eat it, but only because I have to follow the rules.😁

2. You need this, you need that, you aren't this, you aren't that—as if my life follows some standard manual... why is that cup there instead of here? You need this... you're doing it wrong regardless of whether it works. You aren't like Dorothy, Susan, or Renata... plus...
The constant pressure to break my habit of relaxing when I get home from work. I'd immediately jump into the next task, and if I sat down... why did you sit down? Why are you always sitting? Why are you watching that stupid Oprah or those documentaries that make you dull? Read this, wash that, tidy this... who in their right mind walks in the rain and goes daydreaming at this age? Who doesn't like cooked food? You're supposed to eat stew. Why don't I just straighten my hair?
The nagging. It ended with me just telling them to go to hell and buy a dog so they can train that instead.
Man, when I remember that...😁

3. Why do I listen to this music instead of that? Why don't I wear mini skirts but then I wear makeup? Why do I need peace and quiet here and there? I'm stupid because I don't know how to play poker. Why do I sleep instead of running up Mount Rainier? Why don't I wash the dishes this way instead of that? Why am I always in a good mood, isn't that unnatural? Why don't I change and wear pantyhose? Why don't I like marriage? Why do I laugh at silly shows like Muck? Why do I hum? Don't do this, you don't need that. 🙄

4. Why don't I constantly whine about work troubles like others do? Because whining is a sign of closeness. "Stephanie told me this, and I told Stephanie that, and she's the boss..."
Why don't I send those ridiculous love texts early in the morning before 8:00 AM just to prove... I don't even know what.🙄Why don't I do things my way? Why should I follow some specific method just because someone else did it that way once—exactly like that instead of this? Why won't I pick this or that immediately? Why do I refuse to accept all that agnostic nonsense, even if it doesn't actually bother me? How can you say you don't have time?
Why are you here and not there... why don't you like pizza (though in the end, I ate it even though I hate it and shouldn't be eating it anyway)
And of course, everyone gets moody, or tries to blackmail people—even passively, I guess

I mixed up the characters and the situations, but... it was fun.😁
My God, what kind of idiots are out there... I couldn't believe it.
Especially back before the "rescue" when they'd call me "sweetie, you know..."—as if "sweetie" is just for me, or if they could say, "honey, can I tell you something?"🙄
Luckily, fate has a way of circling back to people like that... you should see how they're total losers now, getting chewed out by their wives like puppies. Honestly, those fake "saviors" should just be cut out of your life as soon as possible so they don't weigh you down or nag you.

------------------------------
Bye, lady!

It surprises me that you, with what seems like a pretty level-headed female brain, still argue about eating soup or stew today.
That’s just a stubborn streak in you, I guess.
Obviously, cooked food is good.
And variety is the spice of life.
I mean, if you really don't like it and it bugs you—then don't eat it. But I think it's a lie to claim someone wouldn't want to eat soup, stew, or a hearty casserole.

Sure, there's oatmeal, rice, bananas, etc., for digestion...
But then you're just compensating for it...

Do you at least eat greens with boiled potatoes and meat in that classic combo? 😁
I assume you're familiar with that...

Come on, for goodness' sake, write it here or send me a DM with your menu; I'm genuinely curious right now...

It's like when I tell someone next to me, "Hey, drink this tea—you'll feel better," but they refuse, choosing to suffer through the pain even though the tea would almost certainly help. But no, they can't drink it because apparently, that specific tea isn't good enough for them.
Stubbornness, and it's harmful, isn't it?

And what happens if you get, say, an intestinal issue and the doctors tell you, "It's because you didn't eat this or that"... and then you're forced to eat everything you refused to eat earlier just to save your health?
Who would be considered crazy or stupid then? Or would you perhaps admit that you should have listened to some well-meaning advice???
Or would you still just insist on doing things your way???

You have to admit your faults once in a while, don't you?

Or like if you smoke or drink too much... stuff like that...
Of course, a smart person would defend themselves, but you'd just act tough and stay stubborn.
Because that's just your nature—you know what you're like...

Look, I'd love for you to be my girl and listen to things that are good for your health—forget the nettles or whatever...
(And now you're probably going to get defensive...)
Honestly, you're a bit older now, so hopefully, you'll admit to certain things.
Or would you think I'm trying to lash out because I hate you and want to mistreat you?
I really wonder...
Or maybe you'd consider why I actually want this...
I'm really curious.

Why would anyone be in a relationship if they didn't care about these things, and if she didn't care about them for me too?

It feels to me—since I read your post on another thread today—that you might have corrected a few things about yourself... or am I mistaken...

There are differences... culture, fairness, health issues, and just some senseless whims...

Or like if you walk into a restaurant like a total amateur and they tell you, "Wash this way, because it's faster and better," and it truly is much better than what you're doing, but you still insist on your own way because you can't do otherwise due to stubbornness, and then you end up getting fired, for example...

Think about it...

So that's who you are, and that's what you do... that's the kind of Reddit you run...
Nick and the crew, I've told the truth... and you guys can lie if you want, whatever you want...

There, I've said too much about you... let people come to their own conclusions from the countless evidence provided.
Whether it’s mine or someone else's... what is wrong with you people...

Look, I’m really not expecting anything intelligent from this group...

Maybe if things actually changed—if you just cleared out the toxic elements—but honestly, I doubt it...

I’ll just say it with a smile: 🙂
"You reap what you sow."

It’s a classic proverb for a reason, and you're going to get exactly what you deserve...
Discussion: What kind of Reddit do we want... (and Complaints) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Here’s a prime example—Bad Wolf, from my own thread, a threatener... and a total psychopath—and I actually wrote it myself:
http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=7...postcount=6268

quoting his link:
"I’m aware of my issues.

I definitely have a nasty disposition and a volatile temperament. On the surface, I seem charming and laid back, but sometimes I just completely lose it during fits of rage.

I’ve dealt with plenty of problems and conflicts; in fact, about a year ago, I was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (aka psychopathy). Because of fights and various issues, I ended up in therapy, though since you can't "cure" the disorder, it just helps me learn how to manage my anger and nature so I don't put myself or others in danger.

I have the typical physiological makeup of a psychopath—low serotonin, amygdala irregularities, high testosterone, and a low resting heart rate.

I love putting myself in risky, high-tension situations; then, hit by a surge of adrenaline and dopamine, I feel totally alive and somehow invincible."

So, that basically means double the aggression.

Either that, or we all just band together—a bunch of smart, decent people—and risk some cash, maybe get ourselves on TV, and sue Reddit.
I think that would be the smartest move...
I bet we’d rally a huge crowd of wealthy people willing to chip in immediately, haha.

And honestly, we could just start a second, better forum... one where they actually kick out the provocateurs and lowlifes so people can communicate normally and decently, instead of being screwed over like what’s allowed here.
Right?

Isn't the whole point to communicate normally rather than having five guys or twenty trolls provoking thousands of regular members???
By acting the way you are, you're basically giving a handful of people permission to provoke and harass thousands of members.
SHAMEFUL.
(And let's be real, that's never going to help your site grow—that's stupidity par excellence.)
Or are you just trying to destroy the site? Haha.

This doesn't hurt me (since this is just psychological fuel and strengthening for me), but you're going to attract a massive amount of negative energy. Guaranteed.

They should also mention that the site Expressly deleted the thread, and that the guy spreading these diseases (allegedly) is some Admin / mod from Reddit—which, according to the original author...
It was a thread about spreading the most severe, deadly STDs.
So, the site is supporting that too? Beautiful...

If that isn't the suicide of a forum and the murder of other innocent people, then I don't know what is.?!
And this guy is actually a mod / admin on this site!???
You're really that kind of outfit... what can I even say...
Maybe they'll end up earning themselves a spot in federal prison eventually...

People know exactly what was written in that thread... don't you worry...
That thread is:

Jesus, how exhausting you guys are with your constant bitterness and aggression toward everything living around you.

graniteviper82:
Just put all those malicious types, provocateurs, trolls, and toxic losers on ignore.
You and everyone else should just put them on permanent ignore; you'll have much less nonsense to read.
And expand your ignore lists to include the other decent people who suffer on this site.
Since the mods won't moderate, we have to do it ourselves...

And when I take over, you can buy me a drink for the brilliant idea.
I won't even be mad.

Best regards to all the well-meaning people!
All the best,

Discussion: What kind of community do we want... (and Complaints)

Is this platform preventing good people from participating—should we just put the toxic ones on ignore?

So, are we basically forced to sit here and read their insults and provocations—just enduring their aggression!?

What rules did I actually break by simply suggesting a decent person protect themselves from mindless posts—posts that both I and many other members have complained about—if they choose to?

None.
I’m pushing for this site to be a better place, yet rustydrifter10 has spent YEARS making sure I don't move in that direction—which is pretty obvious from how she's treated me and others over the years.
Basically, her goal is to make this place worse.
And she’s the one running things... even if she's leading us straight into an abyss, she's still the one at the helm...
There’s no disputing that now, I see it clearly.

The Ignore button—that's our legitimate right, though I suspect plenty of people don't even realize they can use it to mute someone—I believe...

Because why should the entire community collectively suffer through aggression and garbage posts?
If people won't tolerate it—and they won't, because they'll >>complain
But rustydrifter10 won't let us use it, nor will she let me even mention it, so what gives!?
(Honestly, I didn't even know that option existed for a good chunk of the early years)
Oh, look! Another piece of evidence.

Paul Scott4 has warned fair members of Reddit US countless times across various threads because he's exhausting, boring, and constantly provocative—he counters stupidity with more stupidity and then targets people when they disagree with him, basically verbally tearing them apart... yet nobody ever takes any actual action against him.

So, he gets a free pass to be AGGRESSIVE, mocking, and provocative toward the whole community, but if anyone rebels and offers a legitimate solution—like using IGNORE—they get punished.
It's a joke...

So once again, just like before, rustydrifter10 and the management support things that hurt the community while punishing those who fight back against them.
That's the management for you. Pathetic.

I honestly wonder why the owner even allows this? Haha
Either there are moles working against him, or he's crazy, or he's just not even present on the site...

Does he not see that this is massive damage to the platform? People are leaving because of this, leaving nothing but trolls shouting at each other in the void.

I assume the owner wants 100,000 real users rather than 500,000 accounts where only 50,000 are actually real people?
Does he really think the advertisers won't find this out—or that they don't already know?
(Or maybe he thought he could manage with five malicious, bitter instigators who constantly poison the well by being provocative in every single thread—trying to stir the fire, yeah right. Only a complete idiot would believe that. I mean, seriously, I have to ask, why this harmful way of managing things for all these years...)

People leave, and they aren't coming back because they don't want to deal with people like that.

People stop posting—just like I stopped posting publicly (I didn't write posts, but I did send plenty of DMs to decent people), and which, by the way, rustydrifter10 shut down with an "get lost" attitude in years past... claiming I wasn't posting and asking why I was complaining, haha...

Nick, you have absolutely no idea how much I've written in private messages.
I've probably broken four keyboards just from typing those DMs, hehe...
But I didn't post publicly because I didn't want to engage with toxic people.
And you Expressly and rudely closed that thread back then... just as I was trying to explain the situation and respond.
There you go—a perfect demonstration of your lack of culture and rudeness.
Everyone sees it and everyone knows who you are.
I just don't know why they still keep you around?

People aren't posting BECAUSE we have to deal with the toxicity that you guys support.
Read that sentence a thousand times; maybe it'll finally click!
I know it by heart, without even needing to look at the stats for the most unserious community on the internet...

That is why the site is dying and people are leaving, and you won't fix it with your malice
—NEVER, NOT EVEN IF YOU TRIED!!!
That's why people say this is the least serious community out there.
I didn't make that up; everyone says it.
Haha
And you just keep doing what you're doing... go ahead... punish the normal people and defend the bad ones.
Makes sense if the boss wants to maximize profit, hehe...

If I were running my own site, I'd do a complete overhaul of the mods and admins...
I’ve rolled out some new, better rules—and honestly, I wouldn't dream of punishing anyone who’s actually raising a valid point or pushing back for a good reason. Why would I do that? Instead, I'm focusing my energy on the trolls, the spammers, and that whole crowd of people just looking to cause trouble. That's where the real issue lies.
Why?
So, if I actually want order to prevail... what then?

If rustydrifter10 actually had an ounce of sense or played fair, she’d see that this guy is just out here stirring the pot and picking fights over every single topic—it's constant provocation at this point. She'd give him a heads-up, or at least a warning, but of course... she won't.

She basically nuked me—for her own reasons, I guess—just because I gave her some perfectly fair and decent advice about actually using the IGNORE button.

Don't even get me started, Nick...
So, here we go again—violating our community guidelines and basic human rights. Seriously?

Actually, you’re basically cheering on the people who systematically harass and stir the pot on every single topic—it’s pretty wild if you think about it.
It’s all just a bunch of mind games—constant psychological manipulation.
It’s just low-life behavior—protected by some twisted thief's code and shielded by the mods.

If some people are just going to spam the entire Reddit thread and pick fights for the sake of being difficult—well, we can always just hit the ignore button. Simple as that.
I’ve already called them out quite a bit—and honestly, I’ll keep doing it with a smile on my face—because they haven't actually said anything of substance. It’s always the same pattern: they just jump into most threads to talk trash without making any sense. They spend their time trying to tear people down, spamming the boards, trolling, acting superior, and spreading nothing but aggression and mockery. It’s all just a calculated way to provoke people and mess with the emotions of the fair users who are just trying to have a normal conversation.
Why would anyone even put up with that?
So, I was falling down a rabbit hole earlier—you know how it goes—and ended up reading the whole Wikipedia entry on internet trolls. It’s actually kind of fascinating if you look at it through a certain lens. Most people just see them as annoying pests, right? Just some random guy behind a screen looking to ruin someone's day because he's bored or just plain miserable. But when you dig into the psychology of it, there's this whole layer of intentional provocation designed specifically to derail conversations. It’s not always just "being mean" for the sake of it, though that's certainly a huge part of it. There's this specific goal of triggering an emotional response—getting under someone's skin just enough to make them lose their cool. Once you lose your cool, they win. That seems to be the fundamental rule of the game. They want that reaction. They thrive on the chaos. I wonder, though... is there a line where a heated debate just becomes trolling? Or is trolling its own distinct beast entirely? It feels like the distinction gets blurrier every single year, especially with how much of our lives happen on platforms like Reddit now. You have people who are genuinely passionate about a topic, and then you have the trolls who swoop in just to set the whole thing on fire. It's almost like a social experiment that nobody actually signed up for. Is it even possible to have a healthy digital community without a constant war against these people? Probably not. But then again, maybe the trolls are just a natural byproduct of giving everyone a megaphone. Who knows? Anyway, just some thoughts while I was drifting through the web.

If anyone else decides to start complaining, I’ll tell EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM that if they want to hit the ignore button just like I did, they should go right ahead—at least then they can escape all that AGGRESSION. Honestly, that's exactly what I did to free myself from it. I really couldn't care less about their pathetic, condescending, aggressive, or malicious takes—especially since the mods aren't going to step in and deal with them anyway.
It’s pretty damn obvious—as clear as day, really—that they aren't going to step up and protect us.

It’s not about protecting us—not even close. They aren't looking out for anyone. If anything, they’re just punishing us for wanting a better Reddit.
They aren't trying to make things better—they just want to watch this whole Reddit burn.

So, I’m just sitting here wondering—and this is just my two cents—do you guys honestly think that acting this shady is how the boss plans to grow Reddit? Like, is the strategy really just to push malicious stuff in hopes of boosting engagement? Is that actually the plan?
I mean, seriously—who among us can actually trust anyone anymore? Not this guy, not that guy... honestly, nobody.
I honestly have to wonder what goes on inside your heads sometimes...

So, why don't you just go ahead and ask one of the members? For instance...
rolandus
Just pull him into this thread so he can weigh in—let's see what he actually thinks about all this.
Maybe he’ll have some insight on this.
He’s actually pretty sharp—level-headed, too.
He’s complaining again today—or maybe I just thought I saw him doing it... honestly, I feel like I've seen similar stuff before.

So, Nick—are you actually telling me that the rest of us aren't allowed to defend ourselves? You’re just going to sit there and play bodyguard for the trolls and the bottom-feeders? Because honestly, that seems to be your whole brand lately—you’ve been doing it for ages, and I guess you don't plan on changing your tune anytime soon, right?

So, why'd you go ahead and delete my post from that thread? Was it just to make sure nobody actually gets a hold of the info or the idea I put out there—you know, to prevent someone from taking a guy who’s already climbed his way to the top of the mountain and putting him on ignore? Just curious.

Why didn't you just give my post a quick touch-up—I mean, even just a minimal edit—and leave it up? Especially since you saw Hazen was already making a fuss about it... wouldn't it have been easier to just suggest she use the IGNORE button instead?
Of course you didn't... because you actually enjoy watching this guy harass and provoke everyone on Reddit.
You don't have any excuses left...
So, what—are you like the boss around here or something?
Are you actually serious right now???
How far is this actually going?

It took me way too long to finally realize that the only real defense against the absolute nonsense flooding this place is to just ignore it. Honestly? It’s pure pollution. Smart people aren't going to waste their time reading through this garbage—and frankly, they don't care about it anyway.
Read those two sentences above a hundred times. Seriously. Just... read them over and over again.

Look, you can see the guy is just trolling at this point—dropping the same nonsense five times, ten times... it’s exhausting. Just IGNORE him. And I mean permanently.
Why even bother putting up with a professional agitator?
Honestly, there’s no point getting worked up over what he said... who actually cares?
We don't have any time left for the smooth talkers, the malicious types, the ones pushing aggression, or the bullies...
Our friends just aren't built like that.
Partners just aren't built like that anymore—not like they used to be.
They won't even be like that.
It’s just... it is what it is.
Look, you guys just need to get it...
You aren't going to get any smart people to bother reading this—not now, and honestly, probably not ever.
Just make sure you don't forget it.
Now you’re really gonna try and pull that crap with me—trying to sell me on some half-baked theory like you're actually teaching me something? Please.

I’ve spent years fighting for this Reddit to actually get better—you know, real improvements—while you’ve spent those same years doing absolutely nothing to address the issues we're facing. Is that really your strategy? Just sit there while things stagnate?

The site won't let me post—it's like they physically can't allow me to draft a rule that goes against everything being mandated by the positive laws right now. Is anyone else running into this? It’s frustrating when the platform just blocks you from even addressing stuff that contradicts the actual legal framework.
Am I really supposed to just sit here and take this aggression? Just soak it up like everyone else who actually has some decency?
You can foam at the mouth with all the malice you want...
How can I...
Nobody is actually reading that—those malicious provocations designed solely to trigger anger and bad vibes.
They don't matter... everyone is just disgusted by them instead of the normal users... all that emoji stuff and nonsense... haha

That’s exactly what rustydrifter10 and his crew protect.
Is this really the future of Reddit US?
Just a bunch of shills and trolls who frustrate people, spam, and mess with the entire Reddit community?
Because honestly, you guys seem to be exactly that.
You get a kick out of seeing decent people suffer while the villains target them.
But I bet plenty of hurt people have already come after you... that's a guarantee...
It'll come back to haunt you—infinitely—because that's just how the world works.

I’m going to point other GOOD people toward their rights and help make their lives better.
In spite of all these UNFAIR penalties.
Sorry, I'm not trash and I won't be, but I'll always fight against the bad actors.

I will do this PROUDLY, one way or another—or I'll just start my own site and let people migrate over to me.
I've thought about it, and I guarantee if I build it, it'll be better than this place...

And those kinds of malicious users? I'll aggressively and permanently ban them.
I'm not going to let 0.1% of the assholes ruin it for every other member, like is happening here.
Not like you guys do, where it's just counterproductive.
You ban the good ones and support the bad ones.
That says everything about who you are.
I have nothing to be ashamed of, but you should... maybe take a look in the mirror.

So, lift my penalty.

Start punishing the provocateurs and allow—actually, encourage—good people to put those types on ignore, because they are the AGGRESSIVE CANCER of this forum.
Nobody cares when some troll spews stupidity...
They are hurting your platform, but hey, if you love a forum like this, then we have no choice but to leave and let the owner fail... since that seems to be what he wants.
Haha, I can't help but laugh at actions like yours...

And all my other penalties were mostly handed out due to unfair bias and the "get lost" attitude from rustydrifter10 and the others.

You can't force us decent folks to endure abuse, constant mocking, taunting, and aggressors...
You can forget about that.

Let me lay this out clearly for everyone:

Does Reddit actually support--

trolls
spam
harassment
impersonation
deception
scams
...

Since I’ve been penalized twice now—and looking at how some other users and moderators act here
"***nothing makes sense***"
it’s pretty safe to assume they’re backing the trolling, the spam, and the general nonsense—which means the decent people are the ones who end up getting screwed.

The lesson is obvious.

I'm certain about how this plays out. Enjoy yourselves.

I have to admit, I just got a PM from someone else on here who uses pretty much the same "tone" I was talking about earlier.
Like I said... there's plenty of it out there...

Let everyone else decide who’s actually at fault here.

Personally, my heart goes out to the people who can't—or don't know how to—defend themselves against all this crap.
We really need to stay vigilant against this kind of stuff, the bullying and whatever else.
Because honestly? It can turn on you before you even realize what happened.

I don't know—maybe I'm just being cynical, but does anyone else feel like we're all just circling the drain here? It feels like every time we think we've reached some sort of consensus or progress on this issue, someone comes along and pulls the rug out from under us—it’s exhausting, really. Is it just me, or is the whole discourse becoming increasingly hollow? I was reading some stuff earlier—nothing too deep, just some commentary on how social structures shift—and it reminded me of how we handle disagreements in these online spaces. We act like we're having these massive, world-changing debates, but half the time, it’s just noise. Just noise. Why do we even bother? Are we actually looking for answers, or are we just looking for a fight? Anyway, I saw what graniteviper82 was saying earlier about the recent shifts in policy. It’s an interesting take, I guess—if you believe that kind of logic holds up. But honestly, it feels a bit shortsighted, doesn't it? To suggest that we can just ignore the underlying systemic issues by focusing on these tiny, superficial tweaks... well, it’s optimistic, I'll give you that. But optimism without substance is just delusion. It’s like when people talk about the economy—everyone wants a quick fix, a magic pill from Washington to make everything perfect overnight. It doesn't work like that. You can't just patch over a sinking ship with duct tape and hope for the best. You have to actually address the hull. But hey, what do I know? I’m just sitting here, typing away into the void. Maybe the point isn't to find a solution at all. Maybe the point is just to realize that there isn't one. That’s a depressing thought, though, isn't it? Or maybe it’s liberating. Who knows.

Long story short—from where I'm sitting, it looks like nobody actually reads a single word I type. You all just swoop in to hand out red cards without even processing the argument... Is that really how this works?
The real fun hasn't even started yet—not really. Once everyone else actually starts having a good time? That’s when things get interesting for me.
Look, I’m not going to be hanging around here all day like some of these people who clearly have nothing better to do with their lives—as if this is their only source of entertainment! ;-)

Just a quick clarification...
If people actually took a second to pay attention, they’d see that when dishonest trolls and idiots start spewing their nonsense, it can trigger serious breakdowns—real madness—in decent folks. It’s not just annoying; it’s dangerous. Some people might actually end up taking their own lives because of this kind of stuff. Is anyone even considering that?
Seriously, just go ahead and read what people are posting on Reddit—for heaven's sake, feel free!
Take a look at this—it’s brand new, they’ve expanded everything, and they didn't even bother posting it on Reddit first:
I don't know about you guys, but I’ve been sitting here staring at this thread for a while—just thinking—and honestly, the whole thing feels a bit off. Is it just me, or does everyone seem to be talking past one another lately? It’s like we’re all shouting into different voids. I was reading what graniteviper82 had to say earlier, and part of me wants to agree, but then again, there's that other side to the argument that keeps nagging at me. You know how it is—you think you have a solid handle on a topic, and then someone drops a single point that just makes the whole foundation feel shaky. Why is it that we always gravitate toward the most extreme takes? It seems like common sense just goes out the window the moment things get heated. And don't even get me started on the way people interpret the data. People jump to conclusions so fast it's almost impressive—if it weren't so frustrating. We see a headline, we form an opinion, and suddenly we're experts on a subject we barely understand. Isn't that the problem? We prioritize being "right" over actually being informed. Anyway, I’m probably just rambling now. It’s easy to get lost in these rabbit holes when you start pulling on a single thread. But I'd be curious to hear if anyone else feels this same sense of... I don't know, exhaustion? Or am I just overthinking the whole thing?
&
I was scrolling through some old threads on Reddit the other day—just killing time, you know how it goes—and I stumbled upon this one discussion that really got me thinking about how much things have shifted lately. It’s funny, isn't it? How we all sit around debating the same old issues, only to realize the landscape has completely changed under our feet. The conversation was centered around the current state of the economy and whether anyone actually believes the recent policy shifts are going to fix anything. Most people were being pretty cynical—which, let's be honest, is the standard setting these days—but there were a few voices trying to play devil's advocate. One guy, graniteviper82, was digging into the specifics of the federal interest rate hikes, arguing that we're looking at a controlled descent rather than a crash. Then you had Joseph Allen71 jumping in, basically saying that’s wishful thinking and pointing toward the volatility in the tech sector as proof that we're heading for a cliff. It’s a bit of a mess, really. You have these massive institutions like JPMorgan Chase or Goldman Sachs making their calls, while the average person is just trying to figure out why a gallon of milk costs what it does. Does anyone actually feel more secure because of these high-level adjustments? Probably not. Casey Bennett chimed in too, bringing up the housing market—specifically how the suburban sprawl in places like Phoenix or Atlanta is being hit by these shifting mortgage rates. It’s a domino effect, isn't it? One move in D.C., and suddenly someone halfway across the country can't afford a starter home. Anyway, I don't have a grand theory or anything—I'm just observing the chaos. But it makes you wonder: are we just watching a slow-motion collision, or is there actually a pilot in the cockpit who knows what they're doing? Hard to say. Most of the "experts" seem just as lost as the rest of us.
Whose thoughts are we even talking about here?

I mean, let's be real—I definitely won't be dealing with that kind of mess myself.
I honestly just feel bad about all that potential for good communication—you know, the stuff that never actually happens because everyone stays stuck in their own heads? It’s a shame, really... all those missed connections and conversations that could have changed things if people would just step up. Why does it always seem to go that way?
Then they go ahead and accuse me—the people I actually bother to talk to—of being some kind of clone or an alt account. Like that's even possible. Honestly, what else are they going to do?
And honestly—given how things usually go around here—I’m probably not the only innocent person caught in this mess.

Look, I haven't gone out of my way to insult anyone—unless we're talking about people who are straight-up dishonest and acting unprofessionally. Is that really an insult? Or am I just calling it like I see it?
Which ones exactly? Honestly—that's entirely up to you to decide.
I was just pointing out which usernames you guys might want to look into—basically, the ones that seem potentially linked.

So, if you actually took the time to stumble upon some random thread on Reddit—just in case you ever felt like doing that—you’d see exactly what I'm talking about here:
I was scrolling through Reddit earlier and stumbled onto this thread—it’s one of those discussions that just makes you wonder where everyone’s head is at lately. It feels like we’re constantly circling the same drain, doesn't it? People arguing over things that don't change, while the world moves right past them. Anyway, I saw graniteviper82 chiming in, and honestly, I can't tell if they're being serious or just trying to get a rise out of people. It's hard to tell sometimes. Then you have Joseph Allen71 jumping in with that typical bluntness—no fluff, just straight to the point, even if it's a bit much. It’s almost refreshing, in a weird way, compared to all the performative nonsense you see online these days. Then there’s the usual back-and-forth between Casey Bennett and lonebadger6. It’s like watching a tennis match where neither player actually wants to win the point; they just want to keep the ball in the air forever. Is anyone actually listening? Or are we all just shouting into the void to feel less alone? Eric Newman75 tried to bring some logic to the table, which was a nice change of pace, but let's be real—bluemason3 was already halfway through a rebuttal before the first sentence was even finished. It's a cycle. A predictable, exhausting cycle. Does it ever end? Probably not. But I guess that's why we keep coming back to these threads, isn't it? To watch the same patterns repeat themselves over and over again.
I Nakamai started a nearly identical thread over on Reddit, mostly because this whole thing really only affects people here in the States anyway.
I’m honestly surprised this topic slipped under your radar—how did you all miss this one?
That’s exactly why I titled this thread "...the USA and Reddit."

It honestly amuses me how little any of you seem to care about actual, real-world problems.
All of this—every bit of it—is just going to weigh on your conscience in the end.
My conscience has always been clear—and honestly, it’s going to stay that way. : - )
The universe always settles its debts—it'll come back to collect eventually. That’s just how things work. If you haven't figured that out by now, consider this your formal heads-up.

I haven't seen much from Nica lately—is anyone else noticing that? It’s weird how some people just drift in and out of these discussions without a word. Anyway, back to what we were actually talking about...
Look, let’s get one thing straight right out of the gate—insults aren't allowed here. If you run into people who act weird or just plain bizarre, don't bother engaging with them. It’s really that simple. If you're convinced someone is actually some kind of clone or something? Just report it to the moderators and leave it at that—it's their call, not yours. And before anyone starts acting like they own the place, remember: nobody has been on this Reddit for five years straight. You aren't untouchable.
Look, you guys aren't really reading—this explanation above covers it. I pop onto Reddit every once in a while, but I don't bother posting in threads—it’s just too much effort, honestly. If I actually need to ask something, I tend to reach out to serious people via private message instead. Communication works fine that way, provided they haven't been trolled beforehand and then turned around to accuse me of being some kind of troll or whatever else.

So you just show up out of nowhere to insult, belittle, and throw accusations at other people on Reddit just because you don't like their writing style? Yeah—that's not going to fly.
You guys aren't reading—seriously, you’re missing the point again. It’s pretty obvious if you actually pay attention: anyone with a shred of integrity is sick of the constant trolling, the spam, and the way the dishonest users just harass everyone else. Just notice that much, will you? But honestly, you really do have to actually read what's being said.

Look, we actually have a dedicated thread for appealing bans—if you’d bothered to actually read the rules in the PDF, you would’ve known that. And honestly? You should probably grasp why the thread you started over on Reddit doesn't belong there either... not to mention how the content itself just isn't appropriate for that space.
Look, I don't have the time for games—not for the twisted interpretations, and certainly not for people either doing nothing or doing things the wrong way. I already laid it all out above.

Picture this—some criminal attacks and brutalizes your daughter right there in the middle of the street. You lose it. You grab everything you can get your hands on and go absolutely feral on that piece of trash neighbor. And then? Then you turn to me and start acting all polite—"Oh, excuse me, sir, I am so terribly sorry, please, if you would be so kind..." Honestly? You’d offer to hand over a homemade pie—I just pulled it out of the oven—and maybe toss him $15,000 cash on top of it once you're done cleaning up the mess. Just to be polite. Can you even imagine?

That’s basically exactly what you’re doing.
That’s exactly why we ended up in this mess... just LOOK AT IT!

Good luck with everything you guys are doing...

Well, here I am again.
I know, I know—I said I was done posting on this Reddit forever, and honestly, I haven't been back until now.
I really doubt I'll be saying anything else here besides this one post on Facebook...

I've been tempted to call out a few people who are straight-up harassing others with some seriously disturbed mindsets.
The truth is, they probably should be reported to the police at this point.
Whether it's the ones doing the bullying or the people being targeted—both sides deserve scrutiny.

Even though I rarely post, and I certainly don't deal with any of those double or triple accounts you see floating around this Reddit, I can't help but notice there's an overwhelming amount of paranoid weirdos, trolls, and just plain unstable individuals lurking around.

Every once in a while, I might drop a comment, or maybe I'll get hit with some nonsense myself.
(All in the interest of decent conversation, right? There are actually some good people here who understand what healthy communication looks like.)
But lately, I keep running into ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE PEOPLE.

Everything is going fine, we're having a normal discussion, and then suddenly—boom—I'm being accused of being a troll or having a hundred different accounts, all because I reached out to someone to have a civil conversation. Apparently, my "pattern" of behavior is suspicious? Ridiculous.

Seriously, I just do NOT have the time for this kind of stupidity.
And I highly doubt any other sane people here have the patience for it either.
What is even the point of acting like this?
It's not funny, it's not constructive, and it serves no purpose.
It's UNHEALTHY, IT'S HARMFUL, AND IT'S PATHOLOGICAL.

I'm asking the admins and moderators to actually do their jobs and look into these specific users:

I want to draw attention to this older thread:

Beyond that, these users—or the trolls hiding behind them—probably need actual professional psychological or psychiatric help!

I reached out to "Nakamai" regarding some photos and programming stuff—I can't even remember exactly what she said after we exchanged a few perfectly normal messages. She basically accused me of being a troll or using an alt account or something.
There's a possible connection there to "ninisky"

Lastly, "Tajana95" is also claiming I have a hundred different accounts on this Reddit.
She also mentioned "phonk" was harassing her, along with a bunch of other usernames I don't even recognize.

Look, I don't have other accounts because I'm not some kid wasting my life away on Facebook.
I have zero interest in making them.
And I certainly don't find joy in playing the fool, which seems to be something others find hilarious—wasting their own precious time and everyone else's on pure idiocy.

I'm calling on the admins and moderators to step up and crack down on the massive amount of nonsense happening on this site.

I seriously doubt I'll ever say anything else here besides this...

Someone actually asked me to call out a few people who spend their time harassing others—people who clearly need mental health intervention.
The same applies to those doing the harassing; they should probably report themselves to the police.
Or just report everyone involved, really.

Even though I barely post—and unlike some people, I don't bother with double or even triple accounts on this Reddit—it's pretty obvious there's an overwhelming amount of paranoid trolls and unstable types lurking around here.

I don't see the point!

It is ABNORMAL, HARMFUL, and frankly, SICK.

I’m posting a snippet of this conversation because I’m officially done with Reddit—I'm walking away. It’s all been one thing after another lately, from reckless censorship to people just straight-up trying to hijack the entire space.

graniteviper82 The user said:I don't see how that qualifies as spam.
And I’m going off-topic.

That was an off-topic quote. It’s nothing personal—I don't have anything against anyone specifically—I'm just trying to shift the focus.

Fox is either a total scam or just pure manipulation—depending on how you look at it—but honestly, the whole game is nothing more than a rigged match between the big players and everyone else.
Just like everywhere else in life.
I mean, you probably already know—or you’ll figure it out the hard way once someone decides to screw you over for a quick buck. It happens.

I mean, I guess you either don't invest in stocks at all, or you just... don't. That’s really the only way it works—just by not playing the game.
If you go out and build a house only to have it get leveled by an earthquake—I mean, seriously—could you actually afford that kind of hit?

If the money is sitting in a bank and that bank goes under—I mean, seriously—could you have even afforded to lose it in the first place?

Turkey vs Space shuttle—it’s basically a tiny little thing versus a giant.
That’s how the differences shake out. And that’s just the way the odds look.

The big players? They’re the ones writing the laws. It's all rigged—they manufacture everything just to squeeze every last cent out of the little guy.
They're connected.

Either you aren't making any money at all—or worse—you're actually bleeding cash.
So, you've got the University of Oregon pulling in over 100 million a year just from those ADR fees—plus whatever other side hustles they’ve got running in the background. It's wild when you actually sit down and look at the numbers, isn't it?
They’re raking it in while the little guy gets left with nothing—just wake up and realize that already.

It's the same story over at Fox.

The disparity is massive—we’re talking night and day, like the difference between the sky and the ground.

Honestly, 99% of what people talk about regarding Fox is just pure noise—and that goes for pretty much everything else, too.

What other kind of scheme could there be if it isn't just them charging you at the bank? $33 Just for a plain old sheet of paper.
The fix was always there—it’s built into the system. It’s all just part of the machinery.

So, Madoff... how did that actually happen? Seriously, how does someone pull that off?
Are you seriously suggesting there wasn't some kind of manipulation going on? I mean—really?

Fox isn't any different.

This needs to go viral. We need to get this out there everywhere. Maybe we start by suggesting we wipe some things clean first—you know, clear the slate—instead of just immediately handing out punishments like we're some kind of judge and jury.
That just isn't fair.

I mean, I can tweak the post a bit if that’s what people are asking for—not like it's a huge deal or anything.
Now that they're getting rid of the red...

Alright, I think I’ve cleared things up a bit.
I hope we’re on the same page here.

I was scrolling through Reddit earlier and stumbled upon this thread—it’s one of those discussions that just makes you stop and think, you know? It’s about the whole "Turkey vs Space" debate, which sounds ridiculous when you say it out loud, but there's actually some weight to it if you look past the surface level. The way people are arguing about it is wild—just constant back-and-forth without anyone really hitting the core issue. Is it all just vanity? Or is it about actual progress? I feel like we get so caught up in the technicalities that we miss the bigger picture. Like, does it even matter who gets there first if the underlying tech isn't sustainable? Anyway, I saw graniteviper82 chiming in on this too, and honestly, their take was pretty blunt—maybe a bit too much so—but they weren't wrong. There's a certain level of skepticism in the community right now that feels justified, even if it comes off as cynical. It's like everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels here? Or am I just overthinking the whole thing? It's hard to tell where the genuine interest ends and the pure hype begins.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just to be clear here—this post is an observation wrapped in irony. I’m not actually taking aim at MarioZG personally; I’m reacting to the statements that were made. One of those statements was even directed right at the moderator.
Because I just don't see how the little guys are supposed to pull a fast one on the giants. I really don't.
And what other kind of scam could there possibly be?
And the exact opposite is entirely possible—honestly, it’s happening all around us every single day.
(examples are provided above)
Look, it's obvious there are other ways to get scammed out there—plenty of them, actually—but nowhere does it explicitly state that.
It’s not just that—it’s the opening post itself...
I don't know about you guys, but I’ve been scrolling through Reddit lately and some of these discussions just feel... off. Is it just me, or is everyone getting increasingly aggressive over nothing? It feels like we've reached a point where people aren't even debating anymore—they're just shouting into the void. Anyway, back to what I was actually looking at. I was thinking about that whole thing regarding Turkey vs Space. It’s funny how much energy people pour into these niche debates when, at the end of the day, most of it doesn't even impact our daily lives. Does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels? Or am I just being overly cynical today? Maybe. Probably. Regardless, it's interesting to watch the patterns emerge.
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying this whole time.

Moving forward, let's take a look at what the Federal Reserve has been saying.
I was just scrolling through some news about how people are getting burned by Forex scams—it’s actually wild how many people fall for this stuff every single day. It’s basically the same old story: someone promises you the moon, tells you they have some secret algorithm or insider edge, and before you know it, your bank account is looking pretty thin. It’s funny, isn't it? We live in an era where information is everywhere, yet we still get sucker-punched by the same basic greed-driven lies. These scammers aren't even subtle anymore—they just wrap themselves up in high-end branding and act like they're the next big thing on Wall Street. They target anyone who’s looking for a way out of the grind, promising that "easy money" is just one click away. But let's be real—if it were actually that easy, everyone would be doing it, and nobody would be working 9-to-5s in places like Chicago or NYC. The psychological part of it is what gets me—the way they build trust. They use fake testimonials, doctored screenshots of massive gains, and all this jargon to make themselves look legitimate. It’s a total shell game. You think you’re investing in a sophisticated market, but you’re really just handing your cash to some guy in a basement somewhere who’s already figured out how to ghost you. Honestly, it makes you wonder why the regulators can't stay ahead of this more effectively. I mean, we have the SEC and all these massive institutions designed to police the markets, but the scammers move faster than the paperwork ever could. It’s a constant game of cat and mouse, and right now, the mice seem to be winning. Just stay skeptical, folks. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it usually is—no exceptions.
Look, I’m not saying it’s impossible to make money here—I’m definitely not—but let's be real: it is incredibly, insanely difficult. Sure, it’s probably doable, but that's the catch, isn't it? The real question isn't just "can you do it," but rather what kind of scale are we actually talking about? How much can you realistically pull in, and more importantly, how exactly do you even go about doing it without losing your mind? It's all a bit vague, isn't it?

Also, if Fox is a total scam, then you just know the little guys are getting played by the big, powerful players every single day. It's practically a rule at this point—if the giants are crooked, the small fry don't stand a chance.
1000 %.
I mean, honestly, how else would they do it? It’s pretty much a given that they’re going to cheat the big players.
That’s just a moderator’s conspiracy theory about the little guy.

So, what else is out there? What other kinds of scams or manipulations could be lurking around the corner—if you can even call them that?
What's up?
Who’s actually going up against whom?

What exactly are we talking about when people mention cartels, price-fixing, market manipulation, or those interconnected trading networks? And honestly—who’s actually running the show as the biggest broker over at Fox?

Maybe we should just spend the next fifteen years obsessively studying the market—just grinding through the data until we finally master it—only for them to roll out some brand-new, one-of-a-kind currency right when we think we’ve got it figured out? Then Fox becomes completely irrelevant anyway. Is that how this works? Just a constant cycle of learning things that become obsolete the second you actually understand them?

Alright, listen up... here's the title of the thread:
Is Forex just one big scam? Or am I just being cynical?

Do you people even have a clue what those things actually are? Are there any unwritten rules—or maybe just things everyone stays silent about—over on Fox?
If you guys already know, then fine by me.
I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of that kind of stuff lying around—if you know where to look.

So, there’s this supposed "rule" regarding the four major currency pairs... I’ve honestly never heard of it before—though, who knows, maybe you guys have?

It feels like they’re constantly trying to sell the world this version of reality where everything is perfect—like we’re living in some endless summer where milk and honey just flow freely—but let’s be real... that simply isn't how things work.
It’s pretty much the same story here in the States. My people—my circle, if you want to call it that—didn't even feel like we were in a crisis. They actually looked me in the eye and insisted it wouldn't touch us. As if?
It’s all just cheap pamphlets, total nonsense, and straight-up lies.
People start erasing and denying the truth the second it stops lining up with their own opinions—it’s funny how that works, isn't it? If the facts don't fit the narrative they've built in their heads, they just act like the reality doesn't exist.

Instead of actually broadening anyone's perspective, people are just out here churning out these endless little pamphlets titled "If You Can't Afford..."—as if that's supposed to be helpful.
Alright, look—it’s a new member, so what? It doesn't really matter. Either delete that "new member" bit or just scrap whatever else is irrelevant. Just get rid of it.
Nobody bit anyone, and nobody even bothered to snap back.

There are definitely other ways to get conned—let’s just call it what it is: a silent scam. When you buy things like stop-losses and similar setups, you’re basically handing over your money to be swindled by the big players in the shadows.

Is there seriously anyone left out there who’s been playing the markets for years without losing a dime? Seriously, does that even exist?

Where does that even come from—the idea that someone would just... So, basically, it’s just going against the grain for no real reason—just doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Seriously, look at those waves—it’s absolute chaos out there. I mean, come on, people, give me a break!
I mean, look—the operators basically just pick what they want and how much they want. They know exactly what they're doing.
There's a pretty good chance that's exactly how it is.
It’s not even them playing—it’s RADE.
They aren't moving because of the waves—it’s all about the MONEY!

Spreading news—or whatever half-baked nonsense makes up 99% of what’s floating around the internet these days—doesn't actually accomplish anything. It's all just noise.

Or, you know, like a sportsbook.
Look, you guys seriously have to be absolute geniuses to consistently pull a profit off anything over the long haul. If that's even possible at all.

It’s like you think you can just show up with some small-time farm—maybe five or six pigs if you're lucky—and actually stand a chance against someone who already WON. But let's be real: they won, and they’re going to keep winning.
They have billions because the game is rigged. It’s all connected.
Maybe his old man pulled an inside job back in the day during the recession, or whatever.
It’s not because he’s some kind of genius or whatever people want to claim.
Sure, everyone knows he’s successful.

The little guy? He’s always been there, and he’ll always just be a peasant—basically just labor for the machine.
Nobody’s going to say that out loud, obviously, but that’s how it works, and it stays that way as long as this system is running the show.

If I had to describe one specific Reddit thread where everything went down, I’d call it "internet prostitution." Someone basically sold themselves out, and now they’re acting surprised that nobody is posting on the board anymore. Hehe.
People have memories. They have better things to do than waste their lives on a site like that.
And information is what drives the money. Traffic, ads, cash...

There’s plenty more I could say and share with you all, but honestly... why bother?

I'm losing my mind, or maybe I already have in Psychology ·
Humanity is just drowning in decadence...
It’s all just sliding into decay...

And most of it is driven by these twisted values—things that don't actually bring anyone any real happiness in the end.
I suppose you could argue it’s just part of evolution, but... who knows?

You just have to remember... if someone isn't exactly quick on their feet, they might be making up for it elsewhere, maybe in their head.

That's why there's no point in losing your mind. Or "snapping," I guess—there’s really no reason to go there...
It reminds me of that line from Paran Valjak... "...reading the news... skipping the bad stuff—I don't need that."
Sometimes you just have to fight for what matters—with everything you've got—if that's what it takes.

What actually triggers OCD?
Is there some kind of definitive list of conditions that lead to these disorders?

Honestly, I’m just getting worn down by certain little things—to the point where I feel like just lying down and letting the whole world burn.
(Check this, double-check that, obsess over everything)

I’m strong, though. I need to put a stop to this bullshit. I've already cut out a lot of stuff from my life...
I guess I just let things spiral. I can't afford to stay stuck in this miserable cycle, especially since I've already poured way too much of myself into things as it is...

In my case, I think it all stems from insecurity—(and over time, the OCD just demands even more constant checking...)—combined with my professional habits, which naturally leads to massive stress and tension.
Because when you really screw something up, you have to sit there and stew in it for a long time.
And yeah, I messed up big time. It wasn't even entirely my fault, but still... (at least I'm the one paying the price)

You only get one life, and if everything needs to come crashing down tomorrow, then between the OCD and the mistakes I've made, it doesn't matter much. But looking at things lately, the OCD is doing way more damage...

Living is complicated because you're constantly juggling responsibilities everywhere you go.
The passwords, the need for absolute precision, those thousand different areas of life you're expected to master and understand...

Sometimes, I really don't feel smart enough to handle it all...

I honestly have no clue what those things are actually for—it feels more like they’re just there for decoration.
They remind me of those cheap LED lights you see everywhere; pretty much useless if you ask me.
If anyone actually knows the purpose behind them, let me know.

Personally, I think they're a complete waste of space.
I honestly think they’re only making those changes over at the Federal Reserve headquarters—or whatever they call their main office these days.
So, did you actually ask them if they’re planning to roll that out anytime soon—and more importantly, what was their actual response?
Maybe try asking at Wells Fargo.
Give them a call.
From what I can tell, if I'm remembering correctly, they just rolled out an exchange rate service for the BAM—you know, the Canadian and Herzegovinian convertible mark.

It seems likely they'll offer one for the rupee too, assuming they haven't already.

Hey guys, does anyone happen to have a high-res version of that big black-and-white "tree with band" shot from the Courtney Love album lying around?

All I can find online are these tiny, pixelated thumbnails—and honestly, that image is killer. I’m looking for something huge, if not for printing, then at least decent enough for a desktop wallpaper. Ideally, I’d love a clean version without those annoying fold lines you see in the CD booklet art (you know, the two-page spread thing).

If you have any other leads or details that might help me track down a high-quality file, feel free to drop them here or just shoot me a DM.

Thanks. 🙂

Like I said, based on how much time I've actually spent listening to this band over the last couple of days...
It’s not everything, but I have 19 tracks total from these albums:

1.1999-2000 era indie albums
Asleep on a train
The Ballad of a Broken Birdie Records
Slow Bicycle

2.2002 era indie albums
Sleep / swim
Green grass of tunnel
Behind Two Hills ... A Swimming pool
Faraway Swimming pool

3.2004 era indie albums
hú Hviss - a Ship
Weeping rock, rock
rock Nightly Cares The Ghosts
you Draw on my Back Stir
Stir
Sing me out The window
The Island of Children's Children
Away
oh, How The Boat Drifts
Deaths ara The Saddest
will The Summer make Good for All of Our Sins
Abandoned Ship Bells

So far, I’m liking these—nothing really stands out as a flaw, for instance:
Asleep on a train — it's instrumental, but the melody actually shifts, unlike "Slow Bicycle," which is a plus
Nightly cares — gentle stuff
Green grass of tunnel — feels like a childhood memory, pretty nice
Oh, How The Boat Drifts — the boats feel almost like ghosts

For an instrumental comparison, you could listen to something like "The draize train" by The Smiths—that would be a real connection—as well as
"Oscillate wildly," also by The Smiths.
Just putting that out there. I'm no expert, but these are genuinely good.

There are four tracks in particular that are somewhat intelligible to me; they satisfy my imagination and offer some melodic changes, along with lyrics that actually give you something to interpret or visualize... Which is kind of part of the problem, I guess... what was the poet actually trying to say here?
It takes a long time to think about, and who knows if I'll ever be able to figure out—or even just get close to—what they were aiming for with the song (the melody).

And finally, not least important: before this, I’d already been reading reviews and write-ups—like a review that came out in US Playboy, if I recall correctly, a few years back.
Plus the album descriptions at Fat Cat, the interviews...
There was also one incredibly glowing, positive piece online.
If anyone wants them, go look; most of that stuff should still be findable today.

With all that in mind, I actually started thinking about how that last article described them—almost like they were talking about witches or fairies or some sort of ethereal, beautiful, divine soundscapes.
@stormyviper11/">@@stormyviper11: ''The description of the band actually intrigued me for a moment.''
And that's exactly it.

I know people in the States don't usually go for this kind of thing, but I figured I'd mention it.
All of this gave me the impression that it's something incredible, maybe even fantastic—kind of like absinthe—but personally, after listening, I wasn't quite sold. That doesn't mean if you drink a whole bottle of the stuff... you won't like it.
Maybe it's meant to be consumed alongside something else?🙂 😍

Hence the title of this thread.

I have to admit, based on these songs, Mum hasn't quite met my expectations yet.
Hope you guys are enjoying this, because now I feel like I'm writing a damn term paper....
Now it's your turn to jump in with your (coherent) comments.
