Hehehe, well, I think I’ve finally cracked the code! The venue, the DJ, and the photographer are all officially checked off my list! It’s actually kind of wild when I stop to think about how little there is left to do—once the invitations and thank-you notes are out of the way, we're basically golden. Honestly, I feel like I’m going to breeze through the rest of this organization at lightning speed 🙂 I really do think I might be the most chill bride in history 🙂))
Yeah, honestly, since we aren't doing the whole formal civil ceremony with the registrar anymore, I was thinking about just doing things a little more relaxed—inviting everyone to the church first and then heading straight to the restaurant after! That’s pretty much how it’s all going to shake out in the end, so if anyone wants to go off about it, they can just talk to 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
🙂)))))))))))) Honestly, I don't think he’s even feeling the whole gathering thing... and if I'm being totally real with myself, I'm getting closer to just deciding it's better if he doesn't show up at all. By the way, what was the vibe actually like once you guys stepped out of the church? Was there any music playing or anything? Like, was there no procession or fancy bows on the cars and all that extra stuff?
I know, I’ve been telling myself the same thing lately... though I am fully aware that a few resident killjoys will probably pop up just to lecture me on "saving money." But honestly, I’m just not the type who wants to spend my entire day prepping mashed potatoes and playing host. Now I find myself wondering: should I be catering to those critics, or should I just do what makes me happy? 😢 That is the million-dollar question, isn't it? Personally, I’d much rather get up, do my hair, put on some makeup, and head out for a photoshoot. Trying to play hostess all day sounds absolutely exhausting to me. I was curious, though—what kind of feedback did you get regarding the "not hosting guests" approach? I know a lot of people are doing that now, and I think it’s a fantastic idea! There's no frantic rushing around, and everyone shows up to the venue feeling refreshed and ready to go..
Oh, thank you so much! Honestly, I’m just feeling a little stuck right now... I can't quite decide if I should even go through with it or not. If you really want my honest opinion, I probably wouldn't! Personally, I’d much rather just head to church and then hit up the show afterward. My biggest worry is avoiding those judgmental comments from people implying, "Oh, she's just saving money so she can spend it later," or whatever else they might say—and that is seriously not where my head is at! It's just not really my vibe. I've been to plenty of all-day BBQs before and had a total blast, but I've also been to a few events that started at church and those were wonderful too. It never felt draining; it felt just like being out on the town. I really don't know what to doooooo...🙂🙂🙂🙂
So, we’re talking about a six-month window here... and honestly, I’m just not sure if I’d trust looking at the open market or sticking to something more closed off. You know how it is, that six-month mark can be a little unpredictable sometimes!
Maybe I’ll have one more drink 🙂 and then call it a night, but before I do, I wanted to ask something. It might have been brought up already, and I don't want to clutter the whole thread by starting a whole new topic, but I was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for a spot to host a group of guests? Maybe a nice cafe, a restaurant, or even just a cozy local pub? I'm not looking for anything super traditional like a formal wedding reception or a big banquet setup. I'm mostly curious about how things work regarding renting out a space for just a few hours—like, what does that actually look like in practice and what kind of prices are we talking about these days? If anyone has gone through this or has some firsthand experience, I’d love to hear it!
Betty Hernandez4 said:I’ve been to three parties where they were the ones playing... these guys truly know their craft. They keep the energy up the entire time—they don't drone on by singing full songs, which, personally, is what I love most about them. That’s why the vibe stays so high... so, yeah... my recommendation: hire them and the taxi band!!!
Oh man, thank you! 🙂 I actually already booked them myself; I've been to a few parties where they were the main act and they were just fantastic. I didn't even bother looking around once I decided—I figured I'd just stick with a group I knew was awesome. 🙂
Hey, The Crew! What’s everyone’s take on Matko and Braniti? Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with them? I’ve heard they are absolutely brilliant and just won't stop playing until the very last guest heads out the door!
