Jesse Peterson12 said:I completely missed that whole scandal. I just went to read up on it, and it looks like they haven't found a replacement yet, so there's a real chance Kevin might end up staying after all. Who knows what will happen. 🤣

Honestly, they should just pick their favorite Oprah and call it a day. Everyone loves her anyway. Doesn't matter if the ratings are tanking—at least nobody's gonna get their feelings hurt.

Jesse Peterson12 said:I felt the same way about that part. He has a spontaneity that was completely missing from this year's hosts. Everything else just felt so forced. It would probably be a lot better if Kevin Hart hosted the Oscars next year.

Exactly. That’s why I think Carrey would be a killer choice—the guy isn't afraid to look like an idiot, which is huge now that they've banned all those "offensive" jokes.

Then again, didn't Kevin Hart back out because everyone went after him for those homophobic comments?

Jesse Peterson12 said:“Rami Malek wore Freddie Mercury’s teeth throughout the entire film. Can you imagine how hard that must have been? I mean, first of all, you have to get the family’s permission to exhume the body. I don’t even know where you would begin with that conversation.”—Andy Samberg🤦

Every single joke they made was trash—honestly, they should've just stopped halfway through the ceremony and come back only to wrap things up. I can't tell what was worse... those awkward compliments to the nominees or that weirdly divisive stuff they kept pushing.

neonfox65 said:I totally missed that—what happened?🤔

Personally, I thought that Jim Carrey bit was pretty funny.

The hosts were straight-up garbage—the only part worth watching was Carrey. Honestly, he might even make a decent Oscar host. Sure, he’d have to watch his mouth, but at least he could pull off those dumb jokes in his own style and actually be entertaining...

Highlight of the night—Lady Gaga walks away empty-handed.

Well, looks like Sacha missed out.

And they’re already starting with Trump. Why is it physically impossible to just hand out these awards without turning everything into a political circus?

James Fox35 said:Yeah, I mixed up two different categories. In that case, she’ll probably snag the Golden Globe, maybe as a consolation prize. The Oscars will be a much tougher fight since there's only one category there, so she might miss out. Still, considering how awards season has turned into a total joke and just a popularity contest lately, I don't think she'll lose both... Plus, her fanbase is massive. Any potential backlash would likely just swing right back in her favor.

What an absolute disgrace with Oprom... 😁 Honestly, Americans absolutely adore her... so nothing about this surprises me at all.

Look, she snagged that lifetime achievement award last year—totally undeserved if you ask me.

Pretty sure the red carpet coverage starts at 1 PM... then the actual awards follow at 2 PM.

James Fox35 said:Gaga simply isn't the best actress here. Olivia Colman was the real standout in The Favourite... though I watched it yesterday and it didn't quite land for me. I'm really hoping Vice and Beautiful Boy pull through, because the rest of this lineup looks bleak. Nothing has truly impressed me yet...

Colman is actually up in the second category—Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. So yeah, I guess the Drama award is headed Gaga's way... unfortunately.

None of these movies have really grabbed me either, so honestly? I'm mostly just tuning in for the fashion. As for the ceremony itself, the only thing I'm happy about is Jeff Bridges getting the Cecil B. DeMille Award. A decent surprise after that total disaster with the Oscars last year.

I'll just hunt down some random stream... Not sure if sharing links is allowed here, though.

James Fox35 said:I’d put my money on Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star Is Born, or Vice.

Honestly, I’d love to see A Star Is Born walk away empty-handed—especially Lady Gaga for Best Actress... just wouldn't happen...

What’s your take—which movies are actually pulling off Best Drama and Best Musical/Comedy wins these days?

I put a little something down on Bet365, even though their selection is kind of mid. Still wondering if there's a better site out there...

Every single year I convince myself these awards can't possibly get any worse...

Out of all the nominees, I’ve only actually sat through Crazy Rich Asians. Honestly, I don't know how they aren't embarrassed to even put that garbage up for consideration. The rest of the lineup doesn't look much better, though I guess I still have to watch them...

Lady Gaga 🤦 I just don't get why she's being shoved down everyone's throats constantly. I prefer those singers who actually realize they're massive artists and stop trying so hard...

The only silver lining is seeing Sacha Baron Cohen on the list, but let's be real—he isn't taking home anything.

Looking at this mess of nominations, I'm betting the Oscars are going to be an absolute disaster this year.
