Walter Collins6 said:Between the vocalist and Def Leppard, they’re easily the best band I’ve ever had the misfortune of hearing. 😁 There is simply no point in trying to reason with people like that. It’s a lost cause. 😉

Has anyone here attended a party where Major League was the headlining band? I’d love to hear some thoughts or reviews if you were there—thanks in advance!

URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Does anyone know of any decent, budget-friendly places to stay near the Aria wedding venue by Walmart? I'm looking for some rooms to rent for guests who need a place to crash after the reception.
Thanks so much!

I was wondering if anyone could point me toward some dance studios in San Francisco? I’m looking to learn a first dance choreography. Ideally, I'd love to find something budget-friendly—does anyone know which schools are the most affordable, and roughly how many hours of practice it usually takes to get everything polished? Thanks!

placideagle10 said:I’m looking for a little bit of advice here... Do you all usually do a makeup trial? I have Tina Turner booked for my wedding day, and she mentioned that most girls actually skip the trial altogether. It’s left me feeling a bit torn—is it actually smart to book a trial when you consider that the cost isn't exactly small?
Also, we have our photo shoot planned for the Monday after the wedding. I was originally thinking about just doing my own makeup for that, but I’ve heard it’s probably wise to hire a pro then too, simply because high-res cameras tend to "eat" a lot of makeup. If I go that route, it would mean paying for the wedding day look + the post-wedding shoot + the trial. 🤷 What would you all suggest? What were your plans like when you were in my shoes?
Thanks in advance!

What are Tina's rates?

The top tier is priced at 2,000 euros... what has your experience been like with them? Thanks, everyone.

I'm actually in the exact same boat—any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have to say, Tina Kalinić is an absolute wizard with makeup. Honestly, every single time I need to get cleaned up, she’s my first and only call. Her work is just incredible. 🙂 If you decide to go with her, I can promise you one thing: you won't regret it. 🙂

Could someone please let me know what Tina Kalinić charges for a full makeup application, specifically including those artistic eyelash extensions? Thanks!

Does anyone have the expertise to compare the makeup styles of Tina Kalinić and Ana Grgić? I’m still going back and forth on who to hire for my wedding day look...
Also, regarding the cake—should I go with a three-tier or a four-tier design? And more importantly, does anyone have a recommendation for a great baker that isn't $500? Thanks!

gentlewolf69 said:I actually bought the bows. But I handled all the invitations, thank-you notes, and boutonnieres for the guests myself... I was really eyeing this specific invitation design over at Apple: http://www.angelus-art.net/301/poziv...ilver-bow-diva
The thing is, their price tag of $4.25 felt a bit steep for me... so I ended up making a version that looked almost identical, just with a different colored bow, for $2.00.

As for thank-you notes—does anyone have any creative ideas that don't involve just printing out a photo?
Jesse Barnes8 said:Thanks 🙂 I actually stopped by her shop, but honestly, the pricing felt a bit excessive for my budget...

NIRS holds about 200 guests, while the Robot center can fit around 250...

Does anyone know what Mis's flower shop is charging these days? Thanks!
Grace Wright56 said:Group 021... anyone actually dealt with them before?

No, I have to admit, this is the first time I've even heard of that group.
Grace Wright56 said:Hey! I need some help finding a wedding band in Monterey... I was looking at The Beach Boys and Group Viva, but unfortunately, they're both booked on my date :/ If anyone has any recommendations, please help me out!! Budget should be around $2,000 to $2,500 max. Thanks Tip-Top

Well, it really depends on what kind of music you're actually looking for. I've heard The Beach Boys have a bit more of a rock edge, while Viva is known for being fantastic, even if they are the priciest option at $2,500... though I've also heard great things about the Premier League 2000 Euro group.

northerntiger95 said:Greetings,

I’m looking for some professional advice regarding makeup services. Has anyone here actually worked with Ana Grgić before? I find myself torn between her work and Tina Kalinić... I can't quite decide which one would be the better choice for what I need. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.🙂🙂🙂🙂

We’re in the exact same boat over here... help us out, ladies! I even heard that maj Banić is supposed to be the absolute best. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with her? Thanks!

Douglas Reyes3 said:I haven't had a chance to get there yet, so I'm planning on hitting a seminar in May instead...
did you go? what was the vibe like—is it actually worth attending for anything useful? 🙂

How far in advance of the feast should one ideally complete the course (according to what the priests usually recommend)?

Peter Collins90 said:Listen, even though my dear Mila completely flaked on my wedding dress just 15 days before the big day—she didn't manage to ruin everything for me, though, because I’m officially a married woman now! As for her, there hasn't been a trace or a word from her; she told me to check back a week before the wedding when the new collection arrives, but since I realized exactly how little I could trust her, I headed straight to Victoria's Secret and found a dress in a single day, so at least I didn't walk down the aisle in sweats and sneakers! I'm still waiting for her to call me in for that new collection fitting, but I already got married a week ago... We held the reception at IKEA, where the staff actually delivered on every single promise they made; Matthew and Bryan proved once again what they're capable of and didn't let us down for a second... The guests were tireless, singing everything under the sun—there was something for everyone... Anyway, I'm happy, the guests are happy, and that's what matters most... I don't know how many people pay attention to the details (it was incredibly important to me), like making sure the lighting on the dance floor is dimmed rather than being bright as high noon on the Boardwalk, which makes people uncomfortable while dancing (some photographers insist on bright lights because they lack proper equipment), or ensuring the breaks between courses are short so people don't get sleepy... 🙂 So, that's all from me... Thumbs down for the Mila-Brnaza bridal salon, but a huge thumbs up for IKEA, Matthew, and Bryan!

Matthew and Bryan, what was the final price?
feralsurfer3 said:So, I finally sorted things out with the church and the priest today regarding the engagement prep course dates in San Diego, but they don't match up at all with what I'm seeing online. Is anyone else actually planning on going this month?🙂

How many months in advance do you typically take the pre-marital course, and what kind of timeline does the priest usually recommend?
Could I please circle back to the topic of live music for a moment? I was really hoping to catch the Viva set because their sound is honestly incredible—even if they do charge a bit more than the others—but unfortunately, I waited too long to reach out, and they’re already booked up for my date.
Does anyone have any solid recommendations? I'm considering reaching out to the Bravo band, but what do you think? Any other suggestions for someone in my position?
Thanks!😕

electricangler said:Anyway, my fiancée has finally sorted out her dress situation—a relative from London is sending over a Monique Lhuillier piece. It’s a stunning, sleek, and understated gown.
Now we have a new dilemma: we need a high-end seamstress who can tailor the dress perfectly without ruining it. Since it's a masterclass in design with such clean lines, we can't afford any mistakes. Does anyone have a recommendation for a skilled tailor in San Diego who has experience with wedding gowns or more complex garments? The dress consists of two layers fitted tightly together—silk and silk lace. I only know of two local tailors, but they mostly just handle basic repairs.
What do you think—would it be worth approaching a bridal salon for this? We feel a bit awkward since we didn't purchase the dress from them. We would obviously pay, but there's still that sense of hesitation...

Also, does anyone have experience with "skimming" a catering bill? For instance, paying for a cake and a certain amount of pastries, getting an official receipt for that, while having some extra treats "disappear" into the party? I've dreamed of this kind of feast, and I've read about it on forums before. 🙂 We've already found some fantastic cookies for guests to take home, but we haven't settled on a cake yet; we'd love for part of the dessert spread to feel homemade. Do you think a venue like the Hilton in San Diego could pull that off?

Does anyone have recommendations for where to find those kinds of cookies? Thanks so much!
Everything is negotiable with the owner if they're open to it; you might be able to sneak a few extra pastries in... essentially, it's up to the manager, so just ask. 😉
