Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Amy Kern, I’ve got a wedding coming up next summer over in Grasha. They told us we could fit 150 people outside, but the whole thing is a gamble because if it rains, there's no way everyone fits inside the hall. We decided to cap it at 100, and they actually suggested a DJ instead of a live band—which was our plan anyway—since a DJ takes up way less space. Honestly, if you have a band, 90 people is probably the sweet spot for staying indoors. Also, just a heads-up: if you go with the terrace, you kind of have to rent out the whole area. You don't strictly *have* to, but there's a chance other guests will wander onto the other part of the patio for drinks, which would cost us an extra $500. Prices vary depending on what you drink (we went with the standard menu for $47), but they're super chill about you bringing your own bottles. If you need more details, just shoot me a DM 🙂

Also, I could use some help—does anyone have suggestions for where I can put about 60 guests (somewhere near San Francisco works too)? Does anyone know of any rental houses or hotels that won't absolutely fleece you on the nightly rates? Thanks so much!

Noah Wright4 thanks so much! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about him, but everyone keeps warning me that he can be a bit "stubborn and has that classic San Francisco attitude" 😁 — honestly, I actually love that about him and would hire him in a heartbeat, but I'm just worried about how the other side might react... those upbeat folks from the Midwest! So now I'm stuck overthinking everything... Poor me 😁
Hey there! I'm looking for some DJ recommendations in the San Francisco area for next summer. I've heard names like DJ Dupli and 😁 DJ Flies mentioned. If either of them has ever played at a wedding you attended, could you let me know? I'm also totally open to other suggestions if you have them. Thanks a ton!

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some good catering recommendations here in San Francisco (for a home thing). Thanks so much 🙂
William Cook35 said:You can definitely fit 90. One table gets a little cramped—like, it doesn't have as much breathing room as the others—but it works out fine. I actually had a wedding at Graša with about 75 guests; it was originally supposed to be closer to 90, so I set up the seating chart for 90 people just to be safe, and everything went smoothly. Plus, I had a DJ too.

William, you have no idea how much you just made my day!!! Thank you so much!!! 😍

Hey everyone! Quick question—does anyone know the actual capacity of the Adriatic Grašo restaurant in San Francisco if there's a DJ playing? I've heard a bunch of different numbers, so I wanted to see if anyone here actually knows for sure. People told me they could fit about 90 people if a DJ is set up, but honestly, that feels like a bit of a stretch to me 😁
Thanks a ton!
Hey everyone! I’m looking for some insight regarding my thyroid levels. I just got my results back this morning—since I'm away from home right now, I went to a private lab on my own because my neck started swelling up about four days ago (along with a bunch of other symptoms). My numbers are TSH: 1.70, T4: 83, and T3: 1.50. I know they technically fall within the normal range, but I'm wondering if these "lower-end" values could still mean something is going on. Last year, I had some thyroid issues too (my TSH was slightly elevated), but the doctors told me I didn't need any treatment at the time.

I'll be seeing my doctor in about ten days once I'm back home, but I was just curious: can the thyroid still act up even if the TSH levels stay relatively stable?😁

Thanks so much!

Hey there! Since I work in physical therapy, I can tell you from experience that the recurrence rate after surgery is pretty high—honestly, it’s closer to 70%. I know that’s not exactly comforting to hear, but it’s just the reality of the situation. I'm not sure what she does for a living, but repetitive microtraumas—those little nagging movements at work—play a huge role in how this develops. Plus, once someone goes on medical leave or finishes physical therapy after surgery, they usually have to jump right back into work, which is obviously bad for recovery... Surgery really should be the last resort, but I've heard there might be medication options out there, so definitely ask about those (I'm not a doctor, so don't take my word for it). But why am I even telling you all this? You guys have probably become experts after three surgeries anyway 🙂

She was sent to a rheumatologist to see if it's some kind of arthritis (like polyarthritis, where multiple joints get inflamed), which would explain the tissue thickening or fibrosis. They'll run specific tests and likely send her for more follow-ups, probably immunological ones.

My advice: even though private specialists can be pricey... if surgery becomes necessary again, I’d highly recommend finding high-quality kinesitherapy (someone who will actually focus on her and do it right, rather than a "factory" clinic where they just hand you a list of exercises after two days and let you fend for yourself—unfortunately, I work in a hospital setting like that, so I've seen how much damage people can do when they try to be their own therapist)

I won't suggest changing jobs because, let's face it, that's basically science fiction these days.

Hope this helps a little!
I used to go to Dr. Miller's clinic in Chicago, but honestly, I have no clue who to see now🤷 .
The doctor I saw for my checkup actually suggested I just go eat a salad instead.
I had a rhinoplasty about six years ago, but they didn't touch my nasal tip because I was way too young at the time—only 16. Now, it feels like my nose is slowly drooping. It’s probably just millimeters, but to me, it feels like miles🙂... My doctor mentioned this happens quite often when the tip isn't adjusted, so I wanted to see if anyone else here has dealt with something similar?
I'm already planning on getting a little touch-up surgery soon! (People love to warn you that plastic surgery is addictive, though😁)
