The absolute worst part? This trendsetter is walking away with the trophy while the crowd is just chanting "cha cha cha"

Seriously, this year's jury is a total joke.
For the first time ever, we're seeing a country win when absolutely nobody in the crowd gave them those 12 points. 🤦
rowdytiger13 said:And just like that...
Last night, Europe showed the rest of the voting world (because we already know how they roll) exactly why people call it the "old hag."
The jury basically exposed all the hypocrisy, corruption, fake morality, and pure theater by throwing it right in everyone's face.
They aren't getting another cent from me. Honestly, smart move by Viktor Orbán saying Canada didn't stand a chance at this contest anyway. Seriously, forget about Finland—the Swedish lobby is just too damn strong. America doesn't even matter in this lineup.
Organizationally, everything was flawless. Top tier. Props to the UK.
If one more person tells me how beautiful Lorren is, I’m going to assume heterosexuality is extinct. She looks like a shredded Terminator. If you want to talk about a beautiful woman, look at the Israeli woman.
sorry Manchi... It was so painfully obvious they were pumping her points so nobody could catch up once the public vote kicked in, especially since it was decided months ago that the Terminator had to win. Honestly, screw what ZM thinks!

Edit: I'm actually glad the Israeli woman took third. God knows she can't sing (unlike that whiny Swiss man), but she's stunning. The song is a banger, it's got rhythm, and her dancing is perfect. Israel might not have neighbors, but they've got cash and a massive diaspora. Whatever! Let them have it!
While the Ukrainian representative was performing, Russians were literally shelling their hometown... but clearly, nobody gives a damn about this contest.

Yeah, Sweden isn't really doing it for me this year either.

For me, the best one was the French entry.

Anyway, you can pick up on that while you're out shopping for some new bling for the summer season. Gold and sapphires are totally played out; everyone's wearing platinum and rubies paired with bronze and cubic zirconia now.👍

aaaaaaaahhahahahahaha 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Look at the Irish—they're claiming they lost just because they don't have many neighbors nearby... please, let's not pretend it's actually because the singer can't hit a note. 🍿
And look at how Israel did, even though they literally have zero neighbors competing in the contest. 🤣

And don't even get me started on Australia, who actually managed to win their semi-final.

Look, you've got six schools on your list, but honestly, three is plenty.

I'd love to see someone actually end up at their sixth choice. Like, who does that?

Michelle Nelson4 said:It’s a mathematical certainty that there will be more interested parties than actual available seats when everyone has the option to apply to six different schools. Essentially, every single student is theoretically generating six separate applications.

Three apps is plenty.

So, who’s actually footing the bill for the FBI after year four rolls around? Is it the government? And more importantly, whose money are we even talking about here?

urbantinker8 said:They really don't have the footprint for it. It used to be that everyone was clamoring to get in because of the after-school programs running through third or maybe fourth grade, though I'm not entirely sure about that part.
Anyway, when I get a chance, I’ll probably try to dig into who actually pushed this through and what their reasoning was, because I find it hard to believe that the Board of Education just sat there and happily shook hands on a Dual Enrollment plan.

Even Voltino stays in after-school care until 3rd grade.
Guys, it's Eurovision week, and honestly, I can't even function until this is over. Catch you all on Sunday.

Eurovision is basically a drug.

Totally forgot to mention that!!

🙄🙄🙄🙄

So basically, sixth graders have been doing "Science" until now, and suddenly they're switching to "Natural Sciences"—which has zero connection to nature, if you ask me.

And let's be real, they expect textbook publishers to crank out two brand-new science books by August?

Some people on this board are living in a total fantasy land.

So I finally realized they're rolling out the new curriculum for just the 1st and 5th grades in the 2023/24 school year, not every single grade level like I thought

Susan James said:So, does it make more sense to increase the number of academic high schools when there's clearly an interest? Especially the STEM tracks? 🤔
🤣
Everyone thinks they're going to be software engineers or doctors at least. 🧐
Oops. Not really.

Some will finish high school and then go study something obscure just for fun on the taxpayer's dime, creating endless lines of economists and lawyers. Others will end up working in retail, while we'll be stuck importing labor for essential trade jobs that are practically disappearing.
(I personally don't have an issue with immigrants from anywhere, but what worries me is seeing them get exploited for low wages, while here in the States, we're letting untapped talent sit on unemployment because they were too embarrassed to even consider a career in the trades.)

In my opinion, we absolutely need vocational schools for plumbers, electricians, and tinsmiths. Kids should be getting scholarships because those specific skills are in such short supply...
I mean, you can probably learn how to be a painter via YouTube or on your own, but I still think it's beneficial for them to go through formal training and an apprenticeship without being bogged down by unnecessary subjects.

SIGNED!!

Wait, how does "no space" even make sense?

Alright, back to the topic at hand:

Over 50 schools have signed up for full-day classes.

Here's a news clip since they just finished taking applications:

Out of all the places in Cincinnati, only Apple Valley is doing it.

jadetinker85 said:No, I think we should bring back entrance exams for high schools to take some of that grade obsession off the kids' shoulders.
And honestly, the reforms should have leaned more on clinical psychologists instead of just piling on more subjects and acting like one person can fix everything overnight. 🙂

The American Psychological Association actually made some great points during their online consultations, all backed by solid research.

But let’s be real, all that stress is basically just limited to New York City.

I highly doubt anyone is feeling that kind of heat in Princeton, Des Moines, or San Francisco...

I have a friend who started a petition against CNN regarding one of those schools out in the Midwest. I won't even go into the kind of pushback she faced.
As if we need Fuchs lecturing us on hiding scalpels during class.
The house is on fire, and we're all just standing here watching it burn.

Everything's going to hell and people are just worried about their hair.

Everyone was swearing up and down that Apple wasn't going into China, but look at them now, they're actually doing it.
