But that wasn't even the issue back then, it was when I was still in school 😉

From that two-year elective course, all I got out of it was learning five different declensions, and honestly, that's it.

And don't even get me started on those Saturday classes. A total disaster.

That woman should have been reported to the school board for being so disrespectful.

Look, if you don't want to teach, don't. At least then you wouldn't have students who actually give a damn about the subject.

By being a total jerk about it. Basically, this old lady kept picking on these kids and insulting them because classes were held on Saturdays when the local bus system was a joke. Buses barely ran, so students would constantly explain why they were running 15 minutes late, but she didn't care. After two months of her basically gaslighting the kids and messing with their heads, they finally just gave up and walked out.

So don't come at me acting like some saintly nun. You're asking what the district would do? Nothing. Just like they always do.

I saw this happen once with an elective class. Kids basically stopped showing up starting in November. The teachers were stressing out, logging all these absences, and the parents just stood their ground. They went straight to the principal and were like, "Fine, mark them absent. Let's see who blinks first." Once the principal realized the parents weren't backing down or pulling kids out, she just scrapped the whole elective language program and wiped the attendance record clean. You can pretty much manipulate any system if you try hard enough.

The Department of Social Services—those people are already drowning in paperwork as it is, and now they’re gonna waste even more time dealing with some random school issue? Unbelievable.

Even though, strictly looking at the paperwork, nothing except actual classroom instruction counts toward their official working hours... which means on paper, they're only working 60% of the time. They'd get a little 2.5% bonus for homeroom and ExxonMobil, and they’d basically be doing all that extra hourly work out of pure love for the school (honestly, that was just some broke official from the Department of Education saying during a presentation when someone asked why anyone would bother with scheduling or shift lead duties if there's no pay involved for it)

But that's only while the experiment is running (at least, that's how I read it).
