I went through everything: birth control pills, emergency contraception (I honestly don't know why you didn't just take the Plan B?!), condoms, you name it... we tried it all. And now that we actually want a baby? Not a chance! We’ve been trying for seven months straight now. We track ovulation, we try during fertile windows, before, after, even every single day... we've basically tried everything under the sun and nothing is happening! So, you see... one thing doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant. Honestly, I don't think that period you had right after being intimate means anything... it's more likely your uterine lining just shed and there wasn't enough thickening for a fertilized egg to actually "stick." Plus, it's pretty rare for a woman to ovulate immediately after her period ends... sperm probably wouldn't even survive that long (well, maybe they would, but they wouldn't be up for much!). Don't worry too much, but just remember you always have Plan B as an option 😉
I know, trust me. But once I actually started digging around online, I realized that it really is possible. You shouldn't play games with emergency contraception. When I got my period the day after having sex, I wasn't even worried because... well, I had my period. Period. End of story. But then my coworkers started bringing up all these crazy theories, which is why I decided to post here. Anyway, I hope you guys get pregnant soon. 🙂

Jerry Bailey47 said:Unlikely. ☕ It isn't quite that simple. You weren't in your fertile window when it happened—and even if sperm lives for 10 days (which it doesn't; it's more like 48-72 hours), you still wouldn't have been ovulating. 😉
My cycles are incredibly irregular. I tried birth control to try and stabilize things, but I ran into some issues and my OB-GYN told me to stop taking them altogether.
🙂The day before my period starts, I notice egg-white mucus and heavy discharge. That’s just how it always is for me right before my cycle...

Yeah. Honestly, I was pretty freaked out when they told me sperm can actually survive inside you for five to seven days...
Good day. I’m not usually one to panic, but I feel like I should ask for some perspectives right now. Basically, I had sex with my boyfriend and he accidentally finished inside me a little bit, with the rest landing on me. We always use condoms, so this was the first time we didn't (it's a long story). I know there's supposed to be no regrets after sex, and that's fine. But the day after we had sex, I got my period, which lasted about 4 or 5 days. Now, some coworkers I hang out with every day told me that sperm can live inside for 5 to 7 days. My next period should arrive in about 5 days—though my cycle is pretty irregular, so I can't say for sure when it'll show up.
I know I'm going to get lectured for not using protection—I'm fully aware of that and the consequences—but I just want to know if there is still a chance I could be pregnant?
Thanks in advance for any input, and sorry if this post is a bit scattered.
Best regards!
