So, I figured I should probably jump in and check in on this countdown too, just to stay in the loop. 😁
Where on earth is all this human energy heading..
Seriously, where are all these assets vanishing to?

A copy just isn't the real deal,
and it’s definitely not the best way to get things done..
Just some friendly advice for all you young folks out there

Head over to Tibet.
Ride a camel.
Get into the Bible.

Paint your shoes blue.
Grow out a beard.
Sail around the world in a paper boat.

Get a subscription to The New York Times.
Only chew on the left side of your jaw.
Marry a woman with one leg and shave with a straight razor.

Carve your name right into her arm.
Brush your teeth with gasoline.
Sleep all day and climb trees all night.

Become a monk and just live off bourbon and beer.
Keep your head underwater while playing the violin.
Do your sit-ups by the light of pink candles.

Kill your dog.
Run for mayor.
Live in a barrel.

Take a tomahawk to your own head.
Plant tulips in the middle of a rainstorm.
But whatever you do, don't go writing poetry.
image image
Well, instead of reaching those poetic heights
all I end up with is just this heavy sadness and bitterness
along with a thought I probably shouldn't even voice
but honestly, screw you, go ahead and write your little poems

I really wish I could act like a proper gentleman
and avoid all these angry outbursts
but I always end up speaking like a total caveman
so yeah, screw you, write your damn poems..

Raymond Wilson10 said:Well, someone tried starting a thread like this before, and we all saw exactly how much of a disaster it turned into. The real issue isn't just the drama itself, it's that people don't seem to know where to draw the line. It starts with arguing online, and then suddenly things escalate from digital spats to people actually trying to track each other down in real life, making threats, and all sorts of nasty stuff. And honestly, we really don't need that kind of 🤷

yeah, there are definitely folks on this forum who lean into that vibe

I'm totally with you on this one... It hasn't been made clear enough that under US law, making physical threats is a serious criminal offense, and having some random username or an alt account isn't going to protect you. If you call the police, they’re going to show up at your door, and then everyone involved is stuck dealing with the legal system for a long time... let alone if someone decides to take matters into their own hands. Once things go past the screen, it's way beyond anything happening on a forum.

If we're talking about the whole "problem" here, I think the solution is already right in front of us: just hit the ignore button. We don't need a massive new rulebook or a formal policy for that. As for people being rude or insulting one another? Well, they're going to do it regardless of the rules, and since there aren't any real consequences anyway, it's basically a non-issue. If it's not a real problem, there's no point in trying to engineer a fix for it...

You basically just described yourself there..

FIRST, man, this is such a great post... I actually do some pretty similar stuff myself, and honestly, I think I’m gonna give your specific routine a shot right now, especially that part about using visualization 🙂

Usually, I just lie flat on my back, palms facing up toward the ceiling, and get into these breathing exercises... so, basically, you inhale through your nose: first you fill up your belly with air, then the lungs, and at the very peak, you just hold that breath for a second... then you exhale through your nose or mouth: you slowly let the air out of your lungs first, then the belly... then it goes belly, chest, and so on. It’s kind of like how you’d fill a water bottle with liquid and then pour it out... the whole point is to really breathe through the diaphragm

I also try to clear my head, but I do it by imagining this little tiny dot right in front of my closed eyes, and I focus everything on that spot whenever a random thought tries to creep in; that little dot acts like an anchor to pull me back into that meditative headspace... it leads into this total state of weightlessness... though most people probably just drift off to sleep by then, unless your actual goal is to meditate—in which case, you obviously aren't trying to pass out 🙂

E: @Brandon Lopez6, look, I’m just laying out the facts here... if you're looking for a fight or trying to stir the pot, you definitely picked the wrong person to mess with. You're just throwing out stuff that isn't even verified or based on anything real, and honestly, I don't really have the patience or the energy to deal with all that drama, so just let it go, okay? Sending good vibes your way!

Brandon Lopez6 said:I've seen quite a few psychiatrists by now, but I'm not about to drop names on a forum. Just like I wouldn't want them dropping mine.
I've been through the ringer with meds—tried Eglonyl, Seroxat, Cipralex, Fevarin, and Amyzol from the AD side, plus Zyprexa and Risperdal from the AP side. The only thing I actually got hooked on was Helex.
I really doubt it's just down to luck.

Honestly, whether it’s "luck" or not doesn't even matter, because the fact remains that some of those antidepressants can be super addictive, so I just wanted to make sure nobody reading this gets the wrong idea... and hey, you aren't being a hypocrite here—that label was meant for the doctor, not you—so don't sweat the sources too much, there's plenty of news coverage out there on this kind of thing.😉

Just think about it, if I hadn't stepped in to correct that info, I would've basically thrown Moravec and his colleagues under the bus—people who are just trying their best to educate the public and help out however they can... if I had just let a false claim stand as "truth," do you really think I'd be considered a bad person or just someone acting like a know-it-all just for setting the record straight?

ironpuma13 I mean, I don't know, maybe this might actually be useful to you:

And hey, if you don't mind me being a little too nosy, what's actually going on with you lately? Like, how are you really feeling?

Kimberly Morris, seriously, just get them to switch you back to your old prescription right away... there’s gotta be some ingredient in this new stuff that’s totally messing with you, I'm sure of it. Just give your doctor a call and tell her, "Look, I need my old meds back, this new one is giving me all sorts of side effects." She'll just type it into her computer and whip up a new order for you in no time. Just go for it, seriously.

@Kimberly Morris, seriously, you need to get that old formula back ASAP!! It drives me absolutely nuts when these big pharma types try to push their "new and improved" junk on us... there's definitely something in that ingredient list that just isn't sitting right. You should really tell your GP to just switch you back to the original stuff!!

Anyway, I'm honestly so relieved to hear it finally arrived... I told you it would! Ugh, well, fingers crossed for you, and please let me know how it goes 😘

@silentmarlin76, look, nobody’s actually forcing your hand here... I mean, just start with a conversation first, and then you can figure out the rest of the details with your psychiatrist as you go... good luck with everything!

Seriously though, those meds can really mess with your blood pressure... a close friend of mine was dealing with this just four days ago where her BP finally leveled out from the medication, but then she just straight up passed out, thank god the paramedics got to her in time... so yeah, this isn't something you want to play around with.

@Kevin Hayes83 - look, listen to a psychiatrist... don't try to play doctor here, seriously, just go get help as soon as you can..
Just head over to the psychiatric ward at UCLA in Los Angeles... please don't try to wing this on your own, just grab a referral from your doctor and get to LA pronto.. here's the number: 013787188, give them a ring and let them guide you through the process.. at least call them, have a real conversation.. make an appointment..

Why would Helex cause a rash or whatever else, but it doesn't happen to someone else??

Honestly, what you're saying just doesn't hold water.
People who are actually on these medications really shouldn't be making such definitive claims about things we don't fully understand.

That’s why I mentioned that they’re basically the same thing... though, yeah, I guess that was a bad comparison. Let me try this instead: think of it like a license; a pack of Marlboro made in Boston should technically be identical to the ones made here in the States, right? But it isn't... the formula is slightly different, even though it still carries that Marlboro license.

So why? Because of the composition... there's something in there that just doesn't sit right.

I've tried Helex and Misar before, but I always ended up going back to Xanax because I just don't want to mess with anything that works.

Like, once they gave me Alvent instead of Velafax, I switched it right back immediately.

And now they're giving me grief with Sandoz, so I'm switching that back to Alkaloid.

There's just something about those pills—some have coatings, some are huge giants while others are tiny "identical" ones, some are bitter, some are sweet... it's all over the place. They play around with the ingredients, and who knows which specific component in the Helex formula triggered a rash in one person?

These big corporations are constantly competing, pushing their drugs by offering all sorts of perks to the medical professionals (not the actual patients)... so yeah, good luck with that.

Personally, I judge everything based on how it affects *me*, but I am absolutely loyal to my specific brands. If they try to swap them, I immediately complain to the clinic and demand they give me back the original medication that I've been taking forever without any issues! I'm basically acting like their little guinea pig, and if these companies keep trying to switch things up on me, I'm going to lose it. And then you hear stories like that guy getting a rash... honestly, how can you not get pissed off hearing stuff like that? It personally really bothers me, it's upsetting, and frankly, it makes me angry.

Jason Vaughn482 said:Are we talking about 1 mg, or perhaps two 0.5 mg doses per day? Honestly, I can't imagine how difficult it is to wean yourself off this stuff; I haven't even taken a dose in two days, despite having been on anything from 0.5 to 1.5 mg for five years now, and I don't feel a thing.

I'd say stick to 1 mg daily... the withdrawal usually hits hard around day four. Hang in there, hope you make it through okay!!

Honestly, all these meds make me feel absolutely miserable when I try to taper off... I get so mentally unstable, physically paralyzed, and I've actually had narcoleptic episodes twice now.

They bring people into the ward who are struggling like crazy trying to kick Normabir or Xanax. They end up treating them with phenobarbital just so they can survive the detox process.

Brandon Lopez6 said:If I'm lying, then every single psychiatrist I've ever seen is a liar too. Seriously, how'd you manage to talk your way into it? 😬

Effexor... when I was off it, I remember posting a bunch of stuff here asking what was happening to me... anyway, I'm genuinely happy for you, truly.🙂

Some ADs—not all of them, mind you—definitely create dependency. Davor Moravek is one of the sources for that info... so yeah, either psychiatrists are feeding you lines or that one specific doctor you talked to was. Just curious, can you tell me which one told you that? Basically, you just have to get lucky with which AD you end up with.😉

@Kevin Hayes83, man, you gotta choose—either go with the Xanax or the Mister... just pick one and stick to it. If you start mixing them, you're looking at an addiction problem in like a month or two. Some people say there's this specific 21-day mark where everything changes, and after that, trying to quit those pills becomes a massive uphill battle. And honestly, you should really take what neontiger4 is saying to heart..

Honestly, it’s kind of a wash with all these different manufacturers... it’s pretty much like buying the exact same car just in a different color, you know? Like, it looks different on the box, but under the hood, it's basically the same ride.
TL;DR: Just head over to the first psychiatrist you can find at your local community health center!
