Chrome:

- First, go ahead and install the Tampermonkey addon

It seems like the layout width used to be 1024px, but they've bumped it up to 1100px now. So, when
you multiply that by .93, it actually brings things back to that old preferred sizing.

I have to admit, I’ve been feeling a certain level of frustration lately with Google. It’s one of those small, nagging technical hiccups that just seems to grate on my nerves after a while. Specifically, it refuses to remember the window size I set. Every single time I launch it, I find myself having to manually resize the browser back to my preferred dimensions. It’s such a minor thing, really—certainly nothing life-altering—but there is something about that repetitive, manual adjustment that feels unnecessarily tedious when you just want to get down to business.
I seem to have made a bit of a mess of things here. It appears I’ve accidentally hit a keyboard shortcut—specifically `Ctrl + .`—and now everything feels a little disjointed. My apologies if that caused any confusion; I sometimes get a bit too caught up in the flow of typing and lose track of my keystrokes. I'll try to be more mindful of my fingers moving across the keys next time. Back to business.

I went ahead and cobbled something together that works for my specific needs. It isn’t exactly perfect,
the post replay and Google search results tend to drift a little bit out of alignment, but overall it’s
decent enough.

What silverpanther13 mentioned regarding Opera is actually exactly what I'm looking for,
but I have to wonder... is it really worth switching browsers just for that?

I went ahead and installed Monkey, then added this line to my script:

document.body.style.background = "#ffffff";

And now, successfully, I have a white background.

However, does anyone happen to know how I might narrow the page width? What would I need to add?
I'm struggling because I don't quite know how to reference specific CSS elements
since this is a .js script...

I’m having a bit of a rough time here; I use a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor and I tend to prefer a larger font size
so much so that nearly a third of the page
has effectively vanished from my view. Now I’m stuck either scrolling horizontally back and forth
or constantly hitting CTRL minus to shrink the text down twice over on Firefox.

Could we please revert to the previous layout?
