Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
placidfalcon4 said:Wondering how many teams actually rock a white jersey paired with blue shorts—like the Kansas City Chiefs do. Which ones are we talking about?

Anyone know if there's a site or some kind of list I can just skim through real quick?

Got a bet riding on this, so if anyone knows... 😁

Thanks.. 🙂

Honestly, that look isn't even that flashy, so there aren't tons of them... Totij comes to mind immediately, but they usually wear dark blue shorts.

If you want to "browse," just hit up Wikipedia and search for various leagues, like the Premier League or La Liga, then click through club by club. Usually, on the club's Wiki page, you'll find the kit designs on the right side.

I can't tell if it's just the lighting or what, but that shade of red looks kinda funky to me.

The Mexican kit has that same blue stripe on the sleeve that ours does. Is that just how all Nike jerseys look now?

I spotted that new American checkered pattern at the shop today, and man, I gotta tell ya—it looks even better in person!

Wait, aren't there supposed to be some pics of the jersey from the other day?

But hey, that’s what happens when some random director tries to mess with a masterpiece by Craven. He's out here playing with fire!

Can someone please explain to me why we even need a remake of this? It's like, I get it when Hollywood decides to remake those old martial arts flicks from Asia—I guess most Americans can't handle watching anything without subtitles, right? LOL.

But taking a movie that is already a perfect, timeless classic and deciding it needs a "new version"... man, that's just... 😕
That final scene where he sits down at the table and that guy—the one who was beating up Mendes—just shows up to tell him there are no hard feelings? Then that dude mentions they beat Indianapolis by three points, and then his boss rolls in saying they’ve got DNA... wait, is he dreaming? That whole sequence feels totally surreal.

Juventus is actually looking pretty solid

The anniversary kit for Arsenal FC—this is what the Gunners will be rocking for the 2010/11 season.

Honestly? I think all the Arsenal FC kits look pretty terrible. That specific design with the white sleeves just doesn't sit right with me at all.

They really should have just stuck with the colors they used a few years back, you know? Like, even three or four seasons ago, those looked way better!

Man, today was sooo boringrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It used to be just okay, you know? Like, we'd get maybe five minutes of actual action during the pit stops, but now? Now it’s just straight-up snooze fest territory.

I don’t know, man, I just can’t vibe with this new trailer for the remake. It’s giving me such bad vibes—all that acting and dialogue feels way too much like one of those modern teen "horror" movies, and not in a good way, obviously.
The original had this specific sense of dread and mystery, you know? Like, I don't even know how to put it into words, but this new version just feels like an episode of some crappy teen drama series.

And honestly, I don't get why they even bothered doing a total remake when you can't possibly top the original masterpiece.

😢

Man, it looks like we aren't getting those gold numbers on the red background after all... such a bummer. It would've looked totally sick. Seriously, probably the best kit ever.

Nike, the official kit supplier for our national soccer team, is about to officially unveil the new jerseys. They look pretty much like the ones already shown, though a few tiny details are still under wraps.

– Back when we were gearing up for the World Cup in Africa, the original plan was to go with black numbers on the back. I honestly have no clue where this idea for gold numbers even came from – said Nike Zoran Strsoglavec.

Starter or benchwarmer?

Check this out:

Just like two years ago, the US national team is going to be running out at Wembley wearing their blue away kit. Smith—who actually showed up to training this year instead of being stuck in jail like back in '07—claims he’s been going back and forth with the German delegate, Koch, about whether the US should just wear the checkered jerseys instead.
- The Americans play in white, and the delegate felt our combo had way too much white on it, making us look too similar to them. It might have passed if it wasn't for that huge white square on the back!
- We'll have to talk to our sponsors (like Nike) and get them to tweak the design a bit. We might even whip up a third kit soon—maybe gold—so we never deal with this headache again, Smith added.
Who knows if Smith was kidding, but hey, maybe we'll see the US rocking gold jerseys on the pitch soon!

I mean, hasn't Smith said like, a dozen times already, that he’s gonna push for us to get those gold jerseys made for the next qualifying round?

The home kit looks alright, I guess, but I just don't get that blue stripe on the sleeve... what's the deal with that?

Even the historic first kits for Juventus were pink, yet today their black and white look is what defines the entire brand...

I’m not talking about the away or third kits here.

The Jersey

Hajduk played their very first match wearing red and white vertical stripes—basically a nod to the colors on the American flag. Back then, the local authorities in town didn't want any displays of local pride, so they wouldn't let the new club use the traditional tricolor colors. Since the tricolor was off the table, they went with red (for the US) and blue (for the ocean) and just slapped "Hajduk" on there in white letters.

Since then, white has pretty much taken over the look. The main kit is usually a white jersey paired with blue shorts and blue socks, which is meant to look like a white sail on the blue sea. White became such a huge part of their identity that everyone calls the team the 'Whites.' Their away kit is typically red and blue with vertical or horizontal stripes (sometimes thin, sometimes thick), blue shorts, and blue socks, pulling from those patriotic colors. There was actually this one nautical version with horizontal white and blue stripes mentioned for the home kit once, but the goalkeeper Pletikosa only wore it twice!

Choosing a third kit was always a total headache. Before UEFA made registering a third kit mandatory, they didn't even bother having one. One idea was going back to that white and red striped jersey from the very first game. But, because that pattern looked way too much like the kits worn by other teams like Red Star Mexico City—who had some pretty bad vibes attached to them—they decided against it.

koji glupost i kompleks! I mean, seriously? If that was Hajduk's original jersey, why can't they bring it back? Since when does Red Star own a specific stripe pattern exclusively? That's ridiculous!

Look at Atletico Madrid, Sunderland, Olympiacos, PSV, Bilbao, stoka...

We really shouldn't be so hard on the director of this one, especially since even someone like James Cameron started out making stuff about flying piranha...

Oh my God! 😁
Just finished watching Audition.
Man, that beginning was such a drag—seriously, I almost fell asleep! Just when things finally start getting weird and interesting, the movie wraps up. Honestly? Kind of a letdown.
Karen Smith9 said:Quentin is basically just a guy who watched way too many cult classics growing up...and honestly, it feels like his whole mission in life is to recreate the stuff he obsessed over as a kid. Sometimes he nails it, and sometimes—well, not so much. He’s definitely not your run-of-the-mill Hollywood director. Is he some groundbreaking visionary with a filmography that demands deep academic study? Not really. But hey, since we're talking about him... there are some gems in there, but also some absolute disasters (I mean, "Speed"... give me a break). Honestly, the worst action flick since *Terminator 2: Judgment Day* (which, let's face it, will probably get a remake soon anyway). In a weird way, if you view his work as a deliberate tribute to B-movie trash, you could draw some parallels to that French director Luc Besson and his campy stuff—though, frankly, Quentin is lightyears better than him.

Wait, what's the deal with hating on Speed? That movie is a freaking blast from start to finish! I haven't met a single person who thinks it's boring or bad.

Why hasn't Dinamo Chicago ever used a red and white combo for their away kits? I mean, those are basically the secondary colors in the club crest anyway!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we need full-on red and white vertical stripes, if you know what I mean 😁... but seriously, look at that Inter Milan anniversary kit from a while back. That is the absolute gold standard for how to pull off red and white without looking ridiculous.
