Is it just me, or does the atmosphere during the first few days of training camp always feel a little heavy? I remember back in my college days, the energy was always a weird mix of "this is our year" and a massive sense of underlying tension.
It’s not just the physical exhaustion, though. It’s the psychological weight of everyone being on edge, waiting to see who makes the cut and who’s suddenly on the outside looking in. You can practically feel the anxiety in the air when certain key players aren't out there on the field like they're supposed to be. It changes the whole vibe of the facility.
When there’s uncertainty about the roster or people dealing with stuff off the field, it's hard to stay focused on the actual drills. It makes you wonder how much of a team's success is actually determined by talent versus how well they handle the inevitable drama and administrative headaches that pop up every single season.
Does anyone else find that the "off-field" stuff is actually more draining for the team than the actual conditioning?
Does anyone have a rough idea of how long it actually takes for everything to settle down and for the tip of the nose to finally lose that swelling?

I can actually see my nose shrinking now, and even my immediate circle—my family—has noticed. The only thing that's driving me crazy is this weird pain in my nose whenever I step outside into the cold air. It feels like someone is literally sitting on my snout. Does anyone else deal with this? Aside from that, though, I’m becoming increasingly happy with how everything turned out.
Thanks, Zachary Nguyen29, Terry Jackson23, and Jeffrey Perez, for checking in on me. I really hope you guys are right about this one.
It’s been about nine days since my surgery, and honestly, my nose still looks massive to me. I realize it’s just swelling, obviously, but does anyone actually know how much longer this is going to take to subside? I read somewhere that someone claimed they only saw another 5% reduction left to go. I am desperately hoping for a much more dramatic decrease than that. What have your experiences been like? It’s technically smaller than it was before and looks flatter, but it isn't significantly smaller yet, nor is it perfectly straight. I already told Dr. Carić that I want it reduced, shortened, and straightened out even more. I really want it to be much smaller—just snap! Is it realistic to hope for that, or am I being delusional? Help me out here. Please, give me some comfort.

My doctor actually gave me some small sterile gauze pads—though you can easily make your own—which I was constantly swapping out under my nose.
They’d get soaked through in about two hours, so I’d just change them again..
Don't worry, once those tampons are out, you'll feel so much better. After that, just clear everything out by breathing through your nose and mouth and spitting into a cup... whatever works. Whatever you do, DO NOT blow your nose. You'll feel like there's an endless flood of fluid ready to burst out, but please, resist the urge.
Hang in there.. this will all pass quickly.👍
They didn't give me any gauze, and they certainly didn't tell me I was allowed to wrap anything up myself.
😕

Yesterday, after the surgery, once I finally made it home, I gave them a call a few hours later. The nurse told me everything was perfectly normal, claiming it was just because I took too long to get back—I didn't head straight home. She suggested I put an ice pack on my neck and suck on an ice cube before lying down, but frankly, that didn't help much at all. Still, looking at it now, things seem to be improving slightly. It was local anesthesia.

I'm not in the hospital anymore; I'm back home. It was just some cosmetic work done at a private clinic. My nose was honestly just way too much for my face in every sense—it was too hooked, had a wide tip, and was just far too long.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve only just reached the third page of this thread, and honestly, I'm spiraling a bit wondering if this is even normal. I’m constantly cleaning myself up with wipes; the blood isn't that dark color it was yesterday, it's turning lighter, but I'm still freaking out. It doesn't help that I was already struggling with anemia before the surgery.
I had nose surgery yesterday, and honestly, it’s been a struggle. Even with all the nasal packing in place, I can still feel blood slowly seeping out from under the gauze right above my lip. It's incredibly frustrating. I was wondering, has anyone else dealt with this kind of bleeding following their procedure?
