Is it just me, or does the atmosphere during the first few days of training camp always feel a little heavy? I remember back in my college days, the energy was always a weird mix of "this is our year" and a massive sense of underlying tension.
It’s not just the physical exhaustion, though. It’s the psychological weight of everyone being on edge, waiting to see who makes the cut and who’s suddenly on the outside looking in. You can practically feel the anxiety in the air when certain key players aren't out there on the field like they're supposed to be. It changes the whole vibe of the facility.
When there’s uncertainty about the roster or people dealing with stuff off the field, it's hard to stay focused on the actual drills. It makes you wonder how much of a team's success is actually determined by talent versus how well they handle the inevitable drama and administrative headaches that pop up every single season.
Does anyone else find that the "off-field" stuff is actually more draining for the team than the actual conditioning?
