I was thinking about this today while watching my youngest struggle with a simple habit they picked up from me. It’s funny how we spend the first decade of our lives acting like the absolute authorities on everything—how to tie shoes, how to act in public, how to eat our vegetables. We view ourselves as the architects of their character, the ones doing all the shaping.

But then something shifts. It usually happens quietly, almost without you noticing, when they suddenly stand in front of you with a level of conviction or clarity that you completely lack. It’s a bit of a humbling realization when you realize the roles have flipped. You think you're the mentor, but suddenly you're the one being guided toward a better version of yourself because they simply won't accept anything less from you.

Has anyone else had a moment where your kid’s sheer willpower or a sudden change in their lifestyle forced you to take a hard look in the mirror and fix your own ways?

Sean Sullivan87 said:So, tell me something—just how deep does this feud actually go between you guys and Mamić and his crew? I’ve got a feeling it goes way back. Was it around 2004, maybe 2005, or was it closer to 2006?🤷 He was right there in the stands with you in San Francisco, cheering his heart out. You saw exactly who he was back then, didn't you? So how did everyone suddenly develop such perfect vision all of a sudden?😕

They haven't actually seen the light, let me tell you. It’s all just talk. Honestly? At least 20% of them are still firmly in Mommy's corner. Another 20% are dead set against Mamić—I mean, he's been getting absolutely trashed in the media for three months straight now. Then you've got that 20% who have zero clue what's going on because they don't follow football at all. And whatever is left over? Yeah, they're against him too. Simple math, right?🙄

Seriously, can we just drop this whole debate about who’s allowed in the stands and who isn't?
Whose ego is bigger? Whose is smaller? It doesn't matter. Are you going to take down the Boys with a sledgehammer or just step up and handle it with your bare hands? Just relax and cheer for the team. The stands should be for anyone who isn't looking to cause trouble—people who actually care about our side. And if you don't like how things are going, then go up there and teach them how it's done.
