Serial Killers: Q&A... in Psychology ·

War is actually a perfect setup for serial killers—you get to kill, but you don't have to answer to anyone! Personally, I think that definition is a bit too broad. You’ve got people who snap and kill their neighbor, but nothing else... those aren't serial killers. They just had a neighbor who was driving them absolutely insane!😂

Impulsive killings are totally different. Real serial killers? That comes from deep within the psyche. There isn't a financial motive involved, and they definitely don't act on a whim. No, they plan everything out meticulously to satisfy this internal urge to destroy or torture victims. It’s all about that feeling of power; their mental state is just broken in that specific way.

Given the risk of being killed by an enemy, that isn't really true. Unprotected civilians are much easier targets for serial killers than soldiers with rifles.

I am being dead serious. ☕

I'm optimistic.

Man, I'm in the exact same boat. You overthink things, you show up, you overthink again, and then you retreat. Except, in my case, a professional actually gave me a diagnosis...

Don't sweat it too much; sometimes taking a risk or finding some kind of action is the only thing that keeps you going. 😉
And hey, you aren't the most miserable person out there; there are always people going through even worse stuff.
Yours sounds a lot like mine, but I guess we're lucky compared to others.
To be honest, I used to feel the same way, but now I've got entirely different problems to deal with.😁
The thing is, there’s just never enough 😉

Did you go to the ER?

Well, I grabbed a marker and actually tried to draw on my screen, and now there's this permanent red line stuck right on my monitor. Does anyone know how I can get this off without ruining the thing?...
😕

Do you think Americans use a different standard deviation than Europeans, meaning their IQ of 130 is actually our 147—the threshold for Mensa?

I've seen how it happens. On laptops, specifically.

Now I'm debating whether to install Ubuntu or Windows Vista....

Go with Ubuntu, especially if you mainly play Blizzard games.

wiredstag51 said:Can I trust Vista to not wreck my computer? Will my games run normally? I'd have to dual boot XP and Vista then....

No. You can't rely on being able to dual boot Vista and XP, nor can you count on reinstalling XP later without changing your motherboard (or at least the BIOS).

What’s the current scene here for things like IPSC? What exactly does someone need to get started with that kind of stuff?
Special Effects (and stuff like that) in Movies ·
So, what do you think? Which movies are actually worth watching just for the special effects?

First off, I’d say Metropolis from 1926. It’s still worth a watch solely for the visual effects. The plot is complete garbage. "No robot shall stand on the Zigurat of Power as Long as i Live !" — that's a real quote.
Eragon in Movies ·
The whole structure is mostly ripped off from Star Wars (episode 4, especially that "you have failed me for the last time" line), themes from Dragonheart, and bits borrowed from Lord of the Rings (mostly the movies). What was truly stupid was the time travel aspect.

I'll just add at the end that the movie wasn't poorly edited.
